The store opened in October 2015 and consists of two huge floors of Tommy Bahama elegance. I’ve been to the Hong Kong venue and the Honolulu stores the 3X bigger, with a roof top garden. With my last night in paradise, Julia, a lovely bartender, served me up a Mai Tai. Fu-fu drinks are not normally my style, but it turned out to just the perfect cocktail of the moment. I wish I had stopped in at the beginning of my trip so I would have been a regular.

I had the wonderful opportunity to dine at Tommy Bahama restaurant in Waikiki, HI. Located upstairs their Tommy Bahama clothing store, this restaurant offered some amazing dishes, exotic drinks and views of Kalakaua Ave from above. The ambience was great and could relate to a nice romantic dinner, a family gathering or friends just having cocktails at the bar. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and presented a demeanor that said I genuinely care about the customer’s experience. Dinner was delicious, Thai Shrimp & Scallops in lemongrass, coconut curry reduction, and almond rice. Lump blue crab & avocado salad. Dishes were seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Ambience: — 4/5, Food temperature and preparation: −4÷5, Presentation: — 4⁄5 Customer Service: — 4.5÷5. Overall rating: 4⁄5 stars.

My mom loves Tommy Bahama, and I mean the clothes and home décor. So I thought it would be a great idea to take her and the family here for her birthday dinner. It was a last minute plan, so I called on Thursday and was afraid that we wouldn’t be able to get reservations for a party of 7 for Friday, but lucky enough, we were squeezed in at the time we wanted! I don’t know what it is, but I love the smell of Tommy Bahama stores. You take a whiff of that goodness before you make it to the staircase that leads you upstairs to the restaurant. This place is gorgeous. I love the beachy vibe. We were greeted right away when we made it up the stairs and was seated in a few minutes. The service was great! I wish I remembered our server’s name… Kaylie? Kylie? She was very knowledgable of the specials and the ingredients on the menu. She gave great recommendations, and was so friendly and polite. For drinks, I got the bahama sangrita, which is a combination of a sangria and margarita. Two drinks that I LOVE! It was delicious and it looked so pretty. For appetizers, we shared the ahi tacos, kalua pork quesadillas and the hamakua mushrooms and apple flatbread. For my dinner entrée, I got the char-grilled filet mignon salad. Ahi tacos were delicious and it was my favorite amongst the three appetizers we got. I absolutely loved the filet mignon salad. My steak was cooked to perfection and the dressing was light and flavorful. Since we were celebrating my mom’s birthday, our server said that my mom can pick any of the desserts on the menu. Our server brought over the dessert tray and she described each and every one of them with her own personal recommendation. My mom chose the pineapple crème brûlée and we ordered another pineapple crème brûlée and a half slice of the malted chocolate pie. The malted chocolate pie was too rich and thick for my liking, so I would pass on that. But the pineapple crème brûlée is AMAZING with little pieces of pineapple on the bottom. Overall, get the ahi tacos, filet mignon salad and pineapple crème brûlée. Oh, and another thing. The next day, I got a call from them asking how my dinner was. The lady on the phone was so happy and thanked me for coming in. No other restaurant has done that for me! I was so impressed with the phone call and I felt like a valued customer. I am definitely looking forward to coming here again. I am itching to go to their bar on the 3rd floor to try their other drinks! For parking, go to the parking garage located on Beachwalk Drive to get 4 hours of free parking with Tommy Bahama validation.

I thought this was going to be another brand/celebrity turned restauranteur, and I was wrong. The decoration is beautiful, the ingredients are local, and the dishes thoughtfully presented. With some good management and training, the service could be streamlined a little more, and the waiters allowed to wait and the managers step in less. Verdict: GO. Even if you’re not a fan of the clothes.

In my younger cabana boy days I had a couple Tommy Bahama shirts, pleated shorts(that always seemed wrinkled), and oh those earth-tone canvas loafers that made me feel like Don Johnson in his prime. I annoyed my neighbors on the daily with Margaritaville… Those were the days. Tommy Bahama has survived the ravages of time and that also includes the… TOMMYBAHAMARESTAURANT&BAR(WAIKIKI) «Nibblin’ on sponge cake, watchin’ the sun bake; All of those tourists covered with oil. Strummin’ my six string on my front porch swing. Smell those shrimp They’re beginnin’ to boil…» Today, I’m no longer young, fresh, or have a Marlin fetish, but unlike Sonny Crockett, I still have my share of lady friends;) I also love the island lifestyle & the grub… Well Tommy Bahama version! So on a night that I was invited to a birthday party by my lady friends… How could I say No?! Tommy Bahama is located in the heart of Waikiki and just across of Hard Rock Café. This location has been around only a few months. The retail section(i.e: clothing, key chains, floppy hats, etc.) is on the 1st floor and the restaurant is located on the 2nd floor. Lounge on rooftop. You access the restaurant via the wonderful spiral staircase or the elevator. I would suggest the stairs if walking isn’t an issue, as the walls are«organic living walls» and you have the full effect walking up! I mean why the pop pop not! Special shoutout to my friend, Cheryl, who is the lovely hostess here and one of my very good lady friends! She took care of us! Cheeee! After the entire party arrives we are immediately seated on the 2nd floor. The menu is «island fusion» type of food, or things with fancy names and prices that match the names. Ahem. Oh well, it’s a birthday dinner! So, we start off with tropical drinks which run in the $ 11 — $ 13 a pop! No Happy Hour either! So we order the typical margaritas, mojitos, mat tais, beer on tap, but my favorites drinks of the night were the… CRAZYCUBAN: Mount Eclipse, Cruzan Coconut, 99 Bananas, Pineapple($ 12.50) GIANTHANDCRAFTEDPIÑACOLADA: Bacardi rum, muddled pineapple, coconut, goslings black seal float($ 12.00) Yes, we also ate! I mean we can’t live off overpriced umbrella drinks all night, or can we? So we order a few entrees to split and a bunch of pupus! That’ll work! Island grub that stood out most… CHAR-GRILLEDFILETMIGNONSALAD: Grilled potatoes, romas, crispy shiitakes, garlic aioli, tamarind vinaigrette(Entrée: $ 23.50) WORLDFAMOUSCOCO-NUTSHRIMP w/Papaya-Mango Chutney(large pupu: $ 19.50) We also ordered ahi sliders & a pork belly dish of some sort, etc., but oddly I can’t locate either on the menu. It might have been part of the daily special? Of all the dishes the Filet Mignon Salad dish was the winner! Whatever you do… Do.Not.Skip DESSERT! This might be the best part of your dining experience here. In fact, get a couple if it’s within your budget. We got the… PINEAPPLECRÉMEBLÛLÉE: Tahitian Vanilla Bean, White Chocolate Mousse, Pineapple($ 11.50) #meh MALTEDCHOCOLATEPIECOOKIECRUST: Mocha Mousse, English Toffee Crumble, Chocolate(large $ 12.50) PIÑACOLADACAKE: Vanilla Cake, Myers Dark Rum, Diced Pineapple, White Chocolate Mousse, Toasted Coconut(large $ 12.50) #getthis «Don’t know the reason, Stayed here all season With nothing to show but this brand new tattoo. But it’s a real beauty, A Mexican cutie, how it got here I haven’t a clue…» Our waiter was professional, but also very local-casual, if you’re from the islands — you get it! No pretense or fakery which is always a pleasant experience. In fact, he comp’d the two birthday ladies — dessert & one drink each. That was unexpected, but knowing my friend, Cheryl… She had a say too. She also gave us a private tour of the rooftop as I imagined myself sleeping up there in my tattered hammock w/o a worry in the world! I was also impressed that there was a pretty good selection of vegetarian and gluten-sensitive dishes. Love should be universal… TOMMYBAHAMARESTAURANT&BAR(WAIKIKI) Lastly, Jimmy Buffet is not related to Tommy Bahama, one a real person(Jimmy), the other fictional(Tommy), but nonetheless a Margaritaville to make you smile, I hope;) I’m no ladies man by any means… Stop being so jealous. If you’re looking for those types go ask Sonny Crockett… «Wasted away again in Margaritaville Searchin’ for my lost shaker of salt. Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame, But I know, it’s my own damn fault. Yes, and some people claim that there’s a woman to blame And I know it’s my own damn fault…» Validated Parking BOH building– $ 6.00 up to 4-hours. SOLID. Fun place, but can get pricey. 4.2-Stars!

Both my wife and I love Tommy Bahama Hawaiian-style clothing and shoes. Every time we wear, we feel as though we are on vacation. So, how good can a clothing firm perpetuate their style and excellence in the restaraunt business? This was our second time here — and suffice to say, we ate one of the best tasting meals of our lives. I’ve never said this before in any of my reviews. So, why so good? Here are the details. During our last visit, we were inside in a beautifully decorated dining room with high back booths — private and quiet. This time; we dined on the roof overlooking the Waikiki strip next to the fire pits and sand lounge — seriously, sand and fire pits on the roof! Alexandria was our server — truly bright and ready to serve — she was extremely attentive in serving drinks and in meeting our every request. I had the Maui Mokka Coffee Crusted Ribeye and my wife had the«Lau Lau» Opakapaka fish special. The steak was cooked medium rare to perfection with butter and was a generous portion. My wife’s Lau Lau Opakapaka was served in a light ginger sauce which complimented the flavor of the leaves. Our cauliflower-chive mash side was the best way to enjoy potatoes ever, the grilled asparagus was perfectly complemented with an aged cheese and lemon, for a wonderful light; sweet and sour side. Finally, for dessert, the Pina Colada Cake was light and fluffy, and not too sweet. My wife enjoyed a Bahia Sangria signature cocktail and I had my usual unsweetened iced-tea. Overall, the compliment of flavor, perfect preparation of food, wonderful service and ambience second to none, we undoubtably enjoyed a great time. Just after we finish this dessert, we’ll be hanging out on the outdoor sofas enjoying the evening warm and lightly breezy whether here in beautiful Hawaii. And we can order more before we leave! We met Mike, the lead chef for the evening, and was told of the executive chef Andrew, who doesn’t work on Sunday evenings. With a kitchen crew of 10, it is very understandable that this team loves what they do and it comes through in culinary bliss. Be sure to go here — you’ll be thanking me for a long time. Enjoy!

What a great place to eat! I had a chance to eat upstairs at the roof top bar. Our waitress(I couldn’t remember her name) was wonderful. We ordered the coconut shrimp and the scallop sliders. The coconut shrimp was cooked very well, crunchy bite and a tender chew. The coleslaw was light and tangy which perfectly matched the shrimp. The sliders were awesome! It was not hard or flaky and the amount on the plate was perfect. The Piña colada cake was very light. I thought it would be very sweet but it was pleasantly delicate with the overall sweetness. Very refreshing!

We had a great time at Tommy Bahama’s for my Aunty’s birthday. We made reservations a couple weeks prior because we had a larger party of 8. However, we dined on a week night and it didn’t seem too busy so I’m sure they could’ve handled walk ins that night. Validated parking is available at Bank of Hawaii — $ 6. Entrance to the parking lot is also on Beach Walk. The hostess did let me know that they validate if you park after 6pm. Not sure what the rate is if you go earlier for lunch or pau hana. Go through the Tommy Bahama retail store to the staircase that leads you up to the restaurant, which starts on the 2nd floor. The restaurant is on the 2nd and 3rd floor – with the 3rd floor definitely being more lively with the bar and fire pit. For our group, we wanted to be able to easily talk story with one another so the 2nd floor was perfect. Now to the food… –Duo of Dips: I will definitely get this appetizer every time I come here. It’s pretty much just guac and a cheese dip but it is sooo tasty and I love how they make their own chips too. –Pork Belly/Scallop App: This was a special for the night and I really hope they put it on their regular menu too. Pork Belly was delicious and cooked perfectly. The dish overall is salty… but I love salty. –Opakapaka Lau Lau: Another special, but if it’s a special when you’re there you HAVE to get this! The fish was steamed in lau lau leaves and was in a delicious broth with hamakua mushrooms. –Chicken entrée: this chicken was stuffed with a garlic/herb cheese and crusted with parmesan. It was full of flavor. Can’t wait to go back and try more menu items!

Yum! I like the atmosphere and the food was decent. I had the filet mignon salad which was great. It came with steak and potatoes so it helps to fill you up. My friend has a fish dish which was okay in my opinion. It wasn’t mind blowing or anything. The restaurant is upstairs of the Tommy Bahama store. Parking is at the Bank of Hawaii building for $ 6! Yikes… its Waikiki so its expensive. The restaurant also has two stories, didn’t go on the top rooftop floor, but the main floor for the restaurant is very nice, high ceilings and airy. The food is a bit on the pricey side though, so I would only go here once in a while. I give this place 3.5 stars.

Gorgeous décor. Tastefully appointed in every way. A nice mix of modern and island flare, each done subtly. Stared with the pork belly and scallops appetizer. Really nice. Tender melt in your mouth belly and thin sliced scallops with a nice garlic aioli and roast corn salsa. So, they were Out of opakapaka(island fish) special at 8pm? Strike one. Unable to substitute another fish in the same preparation? Strike two. Failure to execute core menu dishes to the Tommy standard? Strike three. The list goes on. This is a brand new location, so I’ll give the benefit of the doubt, but the issues I’m seeing speak to lack of effective executive chef oversight. Since they weren’t able to accommodate my wife with a proper island fish preparation, she went with the fish tacos. Not good, folks. Not good. The only thing worse than a soggy tortilla shell is one that’s so packed with fillers you can’t see or taste the fish. This dish suffered from both issues and then some. Had to send it back. I opted for a known standard at all Tommy restaurants – Thai shrimp and scallops. Unfortunately this too was executed poorly. While the scallops themselves were excellent, the center piece of the dish is supposed to be a light, fluffy mound of basmati almond rice that falls into a rich curry at the bottom of the plate. Instead I got over cooked sticky rice flattened like a pancake that needed a knife to break apart. I can appreciate the fact that this location gives the chefs freedom with culinary expression with the daily specials menu; however, this seems to be at the expense of the core menu items– they just aren’t up to par here. Kitchen staff should get back to basics and visit the Kona location for examples of proper execution. Note to chefs: remember the brand is Everything! There are some other technicalities that I found discouraging. For instance the food is cooked on the third floor and must be walked down the stairs to the second floor main dining room. I found this added a lot to the wait time and the food was not as hot as I would’ve liked. Also, the third floor rooftop bar barely has room to stock the essentials. For Two of our drinks someone had to run downstairs to the main bar for liquor. They came back with a near empty bottle and had to run back again to complete the order. I’ve been to four other TB locations and all have been exceptional. There’s potential here, but they’ll have to do some work to get there. The location is primo and the staff is super. Manager Giulia was exceptional and listened to all our feedback. I will certainly be back to see if there are any improvements and update my review accordingly.

They are located right on top of their retail store(you literally have to go into the store to get to the restaurant). The night we went it was pretty empty(it was a late dinner) so we got seated in their rooftop lounge which was pretty nice. Their menu is filled with fresh, palate pleasing American style food with a Hawaiian twist. Appetizers: — Poke — it was good, but not sure if it’s worth the price tag since you can get poke everywhere — Scallop and Pork Belly — it also had shrimp. The scallop was delicious as well as the garnish of picked radish, but the pork belly was SO salty. It was like thick sliced bacon. Entrees: — Filet Mignon Salad — good helping of lettuce and perfectly dressed with a yummy tamarind dressing. The steak wasn’t pretty, but tasted good(a little overcooked, came out more medium than the medium rare I requested, but still tender enough) — Crab and Avocado Salad — very fresh tasting and again perfectly dressed. They did an excellent job of just enough dressing — Fish tacos — a little on the spicy side and the side that accompanied was a little strange… I think it was a coconut rice pudding with bananas. Not sure it fit with the dish. Drink: — Pineapple Mojito — refreshing, but not very strong — There weren’t many sparkling wine options by the glass, which was kind of a bummer. Overall a nice spot with fresh, easy to eat menu options and friendly service.

I honestly expected this place to be a waste of money, but I was actually impressed. It’s kind of hard to find the entrance to the actual restaurant, it’s inside the retail store itself. Anywho, the restaurant is great. The place is just spot on nice. It’s not your typical feel if you were to compare Tommy Bahama’s to other restaurants in the area like the Cheesecake Factory or Morimoto Waikiki. Their servers and staffs were nice and friendly; I don’t know why other reviews say otherwise. We had their weekend brunch; Pork Belly Loco Moco & Crab Cake benedicts. Both were so yummy! Portions were good and my boyfriend and I were able to mop the plates. We also tried their ricotta pancakes & their key lime pie! All were so so good. I would definitely recommend you guys to try this place atleast once or twice.

Located within or should I say on top of the Tommy Bahama Retail Store in Waikiki, this place is everything you would expect from Tommy Bahama. The brand sets the picture of a relaxing, beach life while incorporating a dining. Everything that is located in Waikiki, your first thought is going to be where to park? Well, if you park in the Bank of Hawaii Building(for those who know it as the old Mitsukoshi Building). It”s validated parking for $ 6. This is still a great deal as most place you would be paying upwards of $ 10. Upon arriving, you will be greeted by the friendly and I must say lively staff of the Tommy Bahama store. You can either browse or just take the stairs to the restaurant. If its a nice day, you must take the stairs to the top where you can enjoy the open outdoor seating. Upon sitting down, you will get to take notice of your surrounds. Not only does it feel like you are on vacation, but it almost feels like you are outside in your own backyard cabana. The cool air, the open seating and if needed, there are chairs on a man made beach setting with a fire pit. This was my first time here and being in the mood for a burger, I opted for the Bacon Burger. The burger was cooked just as I like like. The juices all running down my fingers. Add in the Garlic Aioli which made me in heaven. If you make it through dinner, you can also opt for dessert. **Cue** the tray… yes the tray. Something actually seeing what the dessert looks like, makes you want to order them all. The first words out of her mouth was Chocolate, Fudge and Health Bar! Yup I was sold. Final notes… I would have given this place a 5 star but it was starting to rain, and they didn’t offer the table umbrella until we asked for it. I give the ambiance 5 stars and the serve 5 as well. The food I would give it 4 for now, as I have to come back and try more.

I love it here! I have been wanting to come here since they opened a few months ago and finally made it for a small pre New Year’s Eve dinner with a few friends. I will say that it is a little weird having to walk through the retail store to get up to the restaurant. However, once you walk up the curved staircase(we opted for the stairs but there is an elevator), you are instantly transported to another world. The restaurant and bar occupy the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building and what I really like is the fact that the atmosphere is totally different on each floor. After we checked in, we were taken up to the 3rd floor which is mostly outdoors although the dining area is covered(the firepit is not). The night we went it was windy but it wasn’t so bad. it was actually quite pleasant(although I can see how it might be unpleasant depending on the weather). Our server started off good and ended well, but the middle was not so good. From the time we ordered our drinks until they arrived at the table, 20 minutes had passed(we weren’t timing it but we did find a way to get an accurate time once we realized that it was taking awhile to get our drinks). We later hypothesized that our server was also doubling as a salesperson downstairs in the store… I mean, that was the only explanation as to why he would disappear for 15 – 20 mins at a time(well that or he had tables on the 2nd floor too). But he was a nice guy and he otherwise got our order correct, so he still got a good tip and I didn’t take any stars off of this review. Okay now for the food. The starters we had were the wedge salad, the onion soup and the crab cakes. All were good, but nothing was what I would call exceptional. For entrees, we had the salmon pork shank, pork ribeye and the parmesan crusted sanibel chicken(note that both pork dishes were nightly specials). By far, the chicken was the best(and that was my dish, so you can imagine how happy I was)…I am going to go as far as saying it’s one of the best chicken dishes I’ve had to date. For dessert, we had the piña colada cake and the pineapple crème brule. I highly recommend the crème brule –not only is the presentation good, but it’s also very yummy. Can’t wait to come back again!

Our boss took us here for our Manager’s Holiday lunch. We were a party of 7 and sat on the 2nd floor. Our server was pretty remarkable. No pen and pad, but remembered our order of 3 app, 6 soups and 7 entrees. Looks like the kitchen is on the 3rd floor, so the servers have to a up a pretty high flight of stairs to get the food. I give them credit. Everything came out timely and perfect. On my first visit, I didn’t like the steak or ribs so stayed away from those. I has the fish n chip sandwich, and a cup of lobster bisque. The bisques was flavorful will small piece of lobster in them. This fish sandwich was HUGE. I had to cut off the ends of the fish and eat them separately then got to my sandwich. It was crispy and tasted great with the sauce that came with it. I believe everyone enjoyed their meals, but the steak was once again a disappointment. A co worker ordered the some kind of steak and salad. He mimic what I said about the quality and flavor of the meat. Overall i enjoyed my experience much more than my first visit.

Actually I give Tommy Bahamas 3.5 stars leaning more toward 4. Ambience was quaint like being in a nice Manoa home with island breezes passing through the dining room. Comfortable, but when the room is full can get pretty loud. Live music was nice easy contemporary acoustic feel. Nice to dine and relax. Service was good some miscues by our server but she was friendly and knowledgeable so an overall good experience. Finally food: Shared Maui Onion soup with a complimentary amuse bouche — salmon croquette Soup was nice with sweet onions and savory broth nice balance and yummy should have got my own bowl. Croquette was a nice bite of potato and salmon with a pop of dill. Hubby: Fish tacos — had a pretty strong kick of spice but was paired with a kind of coconut tapioca with deep fried plantains. So if the spice could be balanced with the sweet. Different but it worked. Me: Potato Mushroom Salad — three main elements on the dish grilled potatoes, tomato wedges and greens topped with Hamakua mushrooms with a light vinaigrette. The elements eaten separately was nothing special but eaten together was a different experience. The starchy potato and earthy mushrooms with fresh tomato and greens with tangy vinaigrette makes for a well balanced flavor that actually makes the salad more interesting. They even gave a card for our next visit for a free appetizer or dessert. Nice! The restaurant does validate for parking. A bit pricey so not so casual prices but I think we would give it another try.

When Lyla invited me to join her and her hubby, Ed, to lunch, I jumped at the chance! Not only is Lyla a great conversationalist, but she is also very knowledgeable in the cuisine department! This restaurant opened very recently this year in Waikiki. The building has 3 levels. The bottom floor is the retail shop. The 2nd Floor is the Restaurant & Bar. The 3rd Floor should have amazing views and I’m looking forward to a «Rooftop experience» some day… I parked across the street at the Bank of Hawaii building where they validate. We met at opening time for better service. The four of us were seated right away, next to a window so we could enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views. I enjoyed the décor — it added a fresh, clean and bright feeling to our pleasant dining experience! It wasn’t touristy-tacky, but tasteful and casual, but still classy! We started out with drinks — I had the«Pain Chiller»! It was perfect for me because of the nature of my job(haha!). I enjoy fruity, sweet drinks because they remind me of me(LOL!)! The complimentary Crown Bread was served warm with a nice crusty exterior and a soft comforting interior — YUM! We indulged in the delicious Hamakua Mushroom and Apple Flatbread appetizer, followed by the Amuse Bouche of Potato Skin with Goat Cheese Mousse. We shared the four entrees of the Mahi Reuben sandwich; Blue Crab & Avocado Salad; Chicken & Mango Salad; and the Bacon Cheeseburger. They were all amazing, but the dessert«took the cake»: The Crème Brulee in the fresh pineapple shell and the Pina Colada Cake were winners! This was one of the best meals ever! High quality, beautiful presentation, great flavors, and excellent company — what more could I ask for? Mahalo to Lyla, Ed, & David for a memorable adventure in Waikiki!

I’m over the moon excited about this! FINALLY, I won’t have to go too long missing my Steak Salad and Butterscotch Pudding, because its finally here. Upon entering you instantly have this sense of relaxation. The atmosphere puts you in that mood, as if I’m going to someone’s luxury home near the ocean or yacht. We entered the restaurant through the store downstairs. Took the staircase up noticing greeneries along the wall, nice touch, even nicer though was that a part of it is open ceiling. As you walk up you get to the hostess stand. There’s another staircase to the side that’ll lead you to the upstairs rooftop lounge. It was raining the night my husband and I went, so I didn’t make it up there. We were seated immediately between the bar and windows on a high top table, which thankfully is not a rinky dink small table, its a full size one instead. I ordered my favorite Grilled Steak Salad, formerly known as Saba Steak Salad. Steak was cooked medium as I requested placed on a top of greens with slices of grilled potatoes. Not to mention the main reasons I order this: The crispy shiitake mushrooms and the aioli dressing. Yummy!!! My husband had a special for the evening, Seared Ahi. This too was cooked perfectly. For dessert we went for the chocolate pie, which is a chocolate mousse in a circular cookie crust. You can order most desserts in a small or half size, but why would you wanna do that!?? Parking can get a bit tricky being in Waikiki. We like no fuss so we park across the way at Bank of Hawaii. With validation its $ 6.

I made reservations at the last minute for my parents and I to have an early dinner here and was glad to be able to check this place out. The store is on the first floor, with the restaurant sitting on floors 2 — 3(like Hard Rock — which is literally next door to each other). The place is clean and they have a living wall that on both floors 2 — 3. Actually there is two living walls. One is the pretty decoration kind, and the second one on the top floor has all the herbs. Not to mention that the employees are friendly. I ordered their grilled shrimp cobb salad with the dressing on the side. This is actually really good. And with all the toppings mixed in with the greens, there really is no reason to use the dressing. My mom had their seasonal veggies with grilled chicken and it looked yummy. It comes with a side of grilled cauliflower, which came out after the grilled veggies because the served forgot about it. My dad ordered the cuban sandwhich and his only complaint was that the sandwhich seemed too small. It was cut in half, but seemed if it was whole that it’s a lot smaller than a normal sandwhich. Parking is available across the street at Bank of Hawaii for a nominal fee($ 6.00 for 4 hours).

I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to have dinner in Waikiki, I’d prefer it to be outdoors to enjoy the beautiful Hawaii weather and scenery. You’ll find all this on the rooftoop of the new Tommy Bahama restaurant in Waikiki. Past the first floor of the retail shop you will find tables and booths on the second floor. Take the winding staircase to the roof(there’s an elevator too) and you’ll be exposed to a second bar, a very cool sandpit lounge, and outdoor seating. The Tommy Bahama eatery reflects the laid back resort lifestyle associated with the brand. The drink list was extensive and I really enjoyed their sangria. Our server explained that the restaurant is known for their seafood; one of the popular items being their coconut shrimp. I kept seeing servers walk around with an amazing looking dessert tray so I decided on the blackened fish tacos so I would have some room for dessert. Our food took awhile to come out. It could have been that our order was behind the rest of the restaurant, but it did seem unusually long. But being that they only opened 3 days ago, we just waited. Our server let us know that she was checking on our food which showed us it wasn’t our imagination and then a manager came by to offer us dessert to make up for the long wait. That was really nice that they recognized the problem. My fish tacos were delicious! While the tortillas could have been a little softer, I really liked the heat from the chipotle sauce. My dish also came with a side of pudding with fried plantains in it. Yum! It helped cut the heat of the tacos. We had already decided on dessert: a fabulous looking pineapple crème brûlée served in a pineapple and a slice of mountain-high piña colada cake. Unfortunately, the dessert took a long time to arrive too. Although I really liked the chunks of pineapple in the crème brûlée, I thought it was overly sweet. The piña colada cake was perfect and huge so definitely share it. Overall, I had a very nice time at dinner and my favorite part of it was the restaurant’s rooftop ambience. I would definitely return. It’s a perfect place to chill with friends and have conversation over drinks. The burger looks really good too. Validated parking is available in the Bank of Hawaii lot across the restaurant. Don’t flinch when they charge you $ 6.
