Not on the top ten list… This was one of the first restaurants that I ate at when I first arrived to the islands. More of a great place to people watch than anything.

While visiting in Hawaii, I had to do some touristy stuff. And what’s more touristy than drinking fresh juice out of a pineapple? I had to try it! Being the Unilocaler that I am, I found the Tree House Café nearby. The café is two stories… juice bar on the first level and the café upstairs. When entering the juice bar, we were immediately greeted. I ordered the pineapple juice in the pineapple. It was a whopping $ 12! I understand everything is more expensive in Hawaii. And, I also know that I had a large«TOURIST» stamp across my forehead. But jeez, $ 12? I must say that it was the best pineapple juice that I’ve ever had. Much better than all of the juice bars in Los Angeles combined.

Do you sometimes have the feeling you are above all things? The Café lets you enjoy a nice overview of the sales market and it’s pretty cute inside. But don’t forget your umbrella in case the birds spot you, but hey, that’s what might happen, if you feel too much above things. More seriously now, let’s talk about the service and food: Ok, some typos in the menu, but I guess what I do in my reports they can do in their menu. Next the service, not exactly friendly, not rude, let’s go with lukewarm. Simple order, two Ice Tea, two burgers, jalapeños extra. The fries were soft but ok, the burger was good. Long story short, if I want a burger I would consider coming back here, nothing fancy but not bad.

One star because there were ants everywhere, on the tables, falling from the umbrellas outside, and on our plates of food. Also if I could give it less than one star I would because we found hairs in our food. The iced tea was not good, and the fries were very bland and cold. Burgers were okayish. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Ants! That’s really all you need to know. I had between 15 – 25 ants in my ice tea. They were small and it was dark, so I thought they might have been tea leafs until they started crawling up my straw. We ended up here while looking for another restaurant… we should have kept looking. But hey they did comp the drink… just the drink, and considering the ants drank more of it then me it was literally the least they could do. Tables and ketchup were sticky and bird crap all next to the table. Generally felt the owners just stopped caring. Drinks below might be better but don’t upstairs.

Had to have a drink there after it was featured in an episode of NCISLA. Sat where the boys kept lookout for the baddies. Very relaxing spot to chill for awhile. Watch the hawkers trying to fleece the tourists ! Drink was nice, a bit over priced, but this is Waikiki.

It was just cool that they have a real pineapple as the«mug» for the pineapple juice. We bought two and brought it back tot he hotel to spike it with vodka… WOOHOO! The pineapple juice itself wasn’t all that as it wasn’t sweet enough… it was a bit on the sour side. 3-stars for the pineapple trophy!

Went here for lunch based on the reviews. True to what I read the place was almost empty except for two tables. I’m not sure if there was only one employee who did it all or if the cook was hidden behind the screen. The service was okay, the prices a little high for what you get, the food bland and generic and the wait time a little long considering our table was the only new ticket. The shocker was when the bill came to see that gratuity was added into the total even though there were only two in our party. I find this annoying in its own right when it’s six or more in a party but at least then most restaurants Notify their patrons of this practice either verbally or somewhere written within the menu. An average of four stars for this establishment is way too generous in my mind and I will not be coming back.

$ 7.00 for a coconut drink?! We stumbled upon this place while walking around in the marketplace. Ordered a fresh coconut drink. It was pretty neat to see the guy chop up the top of the coconut with a giant knife. I was afraid he was going to take off one of his fingers. Yes it is a bit pricey but it was fun to drink. I wish that I could have gone back to have them cut up the coconut for me so I could have eat some of the meat.

On our first trip to Hawaii we stumbled across this little tree house tucked LITERALLY into the tree! I haven’t tried«downstairs» which is the juice/coffee bar. My boyfriend and i didn’t expect too much from this place because 1. there was no one there. 2. food items seemed very plain. BUT, we were hungry and thought we’d give it a try. BOY were we in for a treat. I had a chicken sandwich with pineapple and bacon added. My boyfriend got the… i think it was called, Big Kahuna Burger? and they were both unbelievably delicious! Now…we came back to hawaii for the second time(last week) and we said we had to check out the Tree House again! It was around 8:45 and they closed at 9p. The lady was very nice and said for us to take a seat, we got… the same thing as last time, i know boring… and a strawberry iced tea. HOLYCOW, it was just as amazing as i remembered, the pineapple(+$ 1) was so sweet and grilled to perfection! my bacon was thick and crispy(better have been,+$ 2 to add on) The chicken was juicy and the bread, well i could have done without it to be honest, the first two bites were great, but all the flavors from the chicken and pineapple came out, leaving me with soggy bread :(did i still eat it? OFCOURSE, just took the bottom slice of bread off and continued to enjoy the great flavors. My boyfriends burger was just as delicious as mine! Their french fries were crispy and crunchy but needed more salt or seasoning… I highly recommend the strawberry iced tea, which was super refreshing in that Hawaiian humidity!!! The coolest thing is because your on top you can look down at all the people walking through the Marketplace, you might even catch someone carving a tiki or two! the noise level isn’t too bad, I mean your right smack dab in the middle of the marketplace, of course your going to hear some commotion from down below… but nothing too LOUD or crazy :) I would definitely return here again and again and again! :) yum yum yum

To Miss D. Stating service from 7÷18÷12 you guys were seated when we were leaving and did not witness the horrible service when we were there. Maybe she puckered up to you guys but her service with us was horrid.

If I could give this joint less than one star I would and probably a minus 5 stars would be appropriate. We were greeted promptly and told to pick our table. Menus were quick to follow but that was the end of great service. We waited 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken(no alcohol is served). We ordered mango iced tea which after another 10 minutes arrived. The tea was so sweet we could have used it for pancakes. We certainly could not drink it and returned it we switched to plain tea which was only better because it wasn’t like simple sugar. We got our burger which was over-priced but fine served with crispy french fries, which probably were good when they were hot — these were not! The bill came promptly and lucky us the nice waiter added his tip of 15%. Never in my life has a waiter added a tip for a party of 2… skip this place there are way better choices near the international market! Unless you are desperate for okay food served with syrup tea and horrid service don’t waste the your time!!!

I have to give two starts because on two separate occasions our smoothies had too much ice & tasted like unfiltered water versus mango :(I also had the pineapples &, I didn’t mind the ice on the pineapple because I couldn’t taste it. Their coconut juice is good & fresh! if you are in the area shopping give it a try, just tell them about the ice;)

Dimly lit and unassuming, Tree House Café is a place you may just find yourself strolling past, but that would be a mistake. I’ve only ever had the drinks here, but they are amazing — thick and flavorful, with chunks of real fruit. My favorite is the North Shores Breeze Pina Colada — it’s refreshing, and I love the chewy bits of fresh coconut. Nothing beats this while walking around the International Market on a hot, humid day in tropical Waikiki. Also, if you’re lucky, Abby will be the one making your drink. She’s the Tree House Café fruit expert, whom I’ve come to befriend during my visits over the past couple of years. She’s super friendly and cheery and makes an awesome North Shores Breeze. Mahalo, Abby!

I rated it 5 stars for their service and drinks. We very often get our espresso drinks here. In our opinion their coffee drinks are the best even better than Starbucks. When going over to get our coffee we always hope that our barista is one particular girl because she makes our drinks perfect all the time! Wish more people knew about this café. It is a hidden gem. * I always read through the drink menu while waiting for our coffee and notice a sugarcane juice drink… I think I need to try that next time; for some reason it’s always calling my name…

Burger was cool, not bad but not great, either. But the mango seafood salad didn’t taste right. The mango had a funky taste. We asked the server, and they said that the mango was steamed. The mango was runny and mushy. It just ruined the whole plate. Drinks were very much overpriced, and tasted powder like. Try the food court downstairs, you’ll have a much better food experience, or just stayed with their burgers.

Opakapaka Fish dish is famous and the local fish of Hawaii. The service was great and the Fruit Tea was good. Do not feed the birds while eating in the Tree House Café.

I really wanted to be cheesy and feel like I was in Hawaii and have a drink in a pineapple and this place had it! It was non alcoholic though. They cut open a pineapple and scoop all of it out and blend it and put it back into the pineapple! it’s really good and refreshing but if you’re like me who gets itchy throat after eating too much pineapple, you may want to stay away! But you can get different fruits or coconut the same way. They have lots of different snacks and candies for sale here too!

FRESH coconut and pineapples. You get to pick your own fresh fruit from the chilled fridge and decide what you want to do with it. After I finished the coconut juice, they opened the coconut and it was readily served as another fresh snack. $ 6 My friend got a pineapple in which they cut out the insides and blended a fruit smoothie and poured it inside the empty fruit as she drank from it through a straw. The left over insides were sliced and served as another fresh snack. $ 15 The pineapple procedure was GENIUS.

Amazing location –right in the International Market in Waikiki. This near empty restaurant was surprisingly delicious if you are in the mood for good old American burgers, chicken, and fries. I don’t usually eat red meat, but the hamburgers here were lean and cooked well on a grill. The service was great and the prices were fantastic. I would very much recommend this restaurant after a good walk around Waikiki.
