Dr. Tsukamoto and his staff are professional, friendly, caring, and above all, great at what they do. He literally saved my tooth last week. I went in for a cleaning– first one in 2 years– and was very happy: the hygienist was thorough, personable, and didn’t evoke any pain. During my exam, Dr. Tsukamoto used a camera to show me a darkened tooth(that I always noticed in the mirror) which another dentist in Seattle had previously told me they thought was just silver filling tarnish. However, Dr. Tsukamoto took one look and explained that the tooth almost certainly had decay under the surface, and recommended a filling. Although I don’t enjoy dental work, I trusted his opinion and agreed. He started to numb my tooth and I was so impressed and felt reassured when the injection itself(usually the worst part) was absolutely painless. And best of all, he was able to numb just one tooth, rather than my whole mouth– incredible! He opened up my tooth and handed me a mirror– the inside was black with mushy decay! I was so shocked and thankful that I had trusted his opinion. The decay was pretty extensive and came really close to my nerve, but fortunately we caught it in time and Dr. Tsukamoto got it cleaned out while avoiding a root canal. The other dentist told me to just«watch the tooth» over 2 years ago! If I had continued to just monitor it as the Seattle dentist told me, I would have almost certainly eventually experienced a lot of pain and possibly lost my tooth. Dr. Tsukamoto put a nice white filling in and then I went straight to lunch with a friend– no residual numbness, no pain. I am so thankful for Dr. Tsukamoto’s knowledge and expertise to recognize the problem with my tooth and for removing the decay and fixing my tooth with a very natural looking filling. I will certainly go back to this office whenever I can!
