Worst place to surprise your wife on a very special night!!! You ruined my night! Thank you for not delivering my flowers that I asked for a week ahead of time! This place is bullshit! You don’t take a reservation and not follow through with it. Thanks for nothing, worst flower shop in Hawaii!

Very impressed with the customer service. I was in a nail biting predicament after another florist messed up my son’s prom order. With one day before the prom, Linda the owner empathized with me and made a beautiful red rose bouquet special order in less than 24 hrs., MAHALONUILOA, LINDA!

It’s seldom a good idea to wait to the very last minute for flowers. However, the ladies at University Flowers created an absolutely beautiful arrangement for my girlfriends performance in very little time. The price was even better, I would have paid three times the asked price! Thank you again; truly a «love saver»!!

I’m very sorry for giving only one star you, but here is what happened to us. April 25, 2015 was a my daughter’s senior prom. I took my daughter and her date to get a corsage and a boutonnière. But it was too late for a corsage. So we ordered a pink-rose bouquet and a matching boutonnière since my daughter’s dress was light beige pink and we thought white flowers might blend in her dress. On the prom day, we found out the shop prepared a pink-rose boutonnière and a WHITE-roses bouquet. At first, they told us a pink-rose boutonnière was the one they made a mistake. It should be a white rose what they meant. So we explained how we ordered pink set… and after their long research… they found a order form it said«pink roses bouquet»… Then, the shop offered me refund but I didn’t take it because I was not the one who bought the bouquet. My daughter’s date is the one who should get the refund. I told them give him the refund when he comes to pick up the bouquet. The shop promised us to re-make the bouquet by the time the date comes to pick up and actually they did.(Thank you!) But… he didn’t get the refund. So I called the shop. The shop said, «The refund was for the white roses bouquet. You need to pay for the pink-roses bouquet.» …I see. I understand. It makes sense. To be fair, the boutonnière is pretty and fresh and the bouquet was beautiful, which comes with no leaves though our order was one with leaves. I’m not willing to argue or to occur problems. Just telling what happened. I appreciate what they’d done their work by the time.

I would say that Chinatown has better prices, but you definitely pay for convenience here. The lei are usually $ 8, 10, 12, 25, 30. They normally don’t have gardenia or pikake, but tuberose is pretty and fragrant. They accept cash, Visa & MasterCard. Hardworking aunties in the back. Park in the back by Kinko’s!

The BEST for special occasion floral needs! It’s a little deceiving to go into the shop and there are rather simple designs in the ready to purchase refrigerators. But I always discuss my distinctive needs and she always exceeds my expectations with creating highly elegant and original designs. Have purchased many prom bouquets and my daughters graduation party center pieces(we did a very elegant centerpiece — more like the type you would see at a wedding). Highest quality roses. And the prices are reasonable also.

Went here to order flowers for a funeral. We had some colors we wanted and ideas. They have a book with suggestions. We wanted specific colors and there were only some flowers we could choose from. We liked bird of paradise but the staff said not good to have pointed flowers for funeral which was helpful, so we went with another orange flower which I can’t remember the name. Once we were set on style and colors we discussed the size of arrangment. Not many flowers in the shop but since we were ordering in advance you can choose what you want and they will order it for you. I’m not very good and selecting flowers that go good together so the staff was able to recommend some things to me that I approved of. There is a lot of free parking in lot, located in same lot as Honey Glazed Hams. I will go here again when I need flowers for a special occasion.

I found this place as I was comparison shopping to buy 20+ dendrobium leis for some function. It’s small, located just past the humane society, but it has free parking! Now this is my go to place for well priced leis. Elsewhere dendrobium leis are anywhere from $ 7 – 10, here, only six! And they last for I kid you not, three weeks(maybe more) in the fridge, and look just as fresh as they did on day one!(Long story why I had them for so long before giving them away!) Customer service was a little lacking, very brisque and to the point, they’re not the warm and friendly older ladies from Jr Lou’s. So when I’m under a budget but still want quality, I’ll sacrifice the talk story with the aunties and consider it a bonus. You also get to choose what color ribbon bow you want on your lei!

I used to work at a flower shop and I must say that this place has some nice but pretty reasonably priced stuff. The boyfriend get his flowers from here and they always come out beautifully. I went to get an arrangement for a birthday gift once, and it was very cute, the flowers were very fresh, and it was cheaper than a flower shop down the street. Some of the people here are okay, but for the most part they’re pretty nice and helpful. And the shop is a little disorganized and messy but they get the job done. The parking lot is a little tight/small and a little hard to get in and out of because it’s right by a freeway offramp. However, I will definitely be back here if I am in need of flowers though!

This is my go-to place to buy leis. The selection is always very nice, with good prices to boot. I’ve been going here for around 4 years now and haven’t found a better place in town for my needs. I always find something beautiful, appropriate, and priced right.

I always use Unilocal, but I never felt like commenting till now. I talked to so many owners of other flower shops to see if they could design a modern-contemporary /not funeral-ish looking arrangement, and decided on University after talking to the owner and looking at a few pictures. The owner and her designer have unique and modern ideas that incorporate style and design(not your boring«cookie cutter» type of arrangements that so many Hawaii flower shops make) and that makes them different and fresh. They created the most beautiful(custom designed) funeral flower arrangements for us, and they catered to our multiple changes to incorporate all of the flowers we wanted to include. On the day of the funeral(I was running late) and they went above and beyond to help me place the other arrangements and banners(that they didn’t make) that I had to setup. I am so grateful that they stayed so late to help me, and that was so amazing! It’s that kind of customer service and aloha spirit that makes University Flowers the best place to shop for flowers.

I have a fun and really nice story to share about my experience at University Flowers. I came here to buy some flowers for one of my good gfs. Little did I know the flower shop lady(Linda!) was going to tell me «hey you should arrange your own!» I thought… uh…you mean like me put it together?! She told me to pick out the flowers n she’ll just tell me the basic steps. Next thing I know I’m TOTALLY making a flower arrangement! :D Linda said that she likes to have her customers create their own bc it makes it special. Creating the flower arrangement was probably the most relaxing and satisfying feeling I’ve felt in a while. Totally 100% engaged in what I was doing. Thanks to tLinda @ University Flowers — it really is the simple things in life that can totally make your day. My friend loved the flowers! :) Thank you Linda!!!

I have always been using University Flowers for every occasion; mothers day, birthdays, and etc. I usually just give them a set price on my flowers and request for the owner to come up with something special in design. After, they explain to me what types of flowers would be used so I get a idea of it. The end results are always excellent. They are always able to accommodate my last minute orders and request. Cheers to them.

University Flowers seems to be my default flower shop. Now, usually, when I need flowers, i them in a rush. What guy orders flowers in advance… If he does, he’s probably not single… like me. ANYWAY, University Flowers always has stock and the greatest part is there is always parking. The prices are also very reasonable. One time, I was buying flowers for a friend and needed a small arrangement put together. The girl working at the shop that day was very helpful in putting together a great looking arrangement. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, but with a very detailed description(sarcasm) I must have gotten my point across. Despite all the other flower shops around town, if I’m very in a rush for flowers, I’ll probably drop by University Flowers. With decent selection, reasonable price and helpful service, there a 4 star in my book.

I really like this flower shop for its good prices. You can mix and match different kinds of flowers and come to a nice-looking bouquet for a decent price. The quality, though, is more of a hit-or-miss. I usually come in on the weekends during the late morning/early afternoon, and they sometimes have nice flowers; sometimes not. The staff isn’t terribly friendly, either, so I guess I get what I pay for. I would recommend buying graduation leis elsewhere; the ones here are of mediocre quality but are priced the same as any other flower stores’.

I came here in search of an arrangement that could be sent to Queen’s Hospital for a friend who was currently in labor. There wasn’t much of a selection, mainly various colored rose arrangements in their display fridges. I questioned the lady behind the counter if any other flowers were available and she said not at this time of year(mid January). Then a grumpy asian guy in the back overheard our conversation and said that he had placed an order for roses and some other type of flower and the roses were all that he had gotten. He went on to saying that he had ordered a certain amount, but only received so much. Then he grumpily went back to what he was doing. I don’t understand why they could only put together a «so-so» rose arrangement when I saw earlier in the week that Safeway and Foodland had more options than just rose arrangements. I went to an actual florist because I thought that they would have a larger selection than a grocery store. With that kind of attitude from possibly the owner, I don’t think I’d be a return customer here… Food: N/A Service: ** Ambiance: ** Value: ***

I came here on Christmas Eve looking for flowers for the boyfriend’s mom. At first, the shop seems a little bare, but they have really nice bouquets at excellent prices, starting, I believe, at $ 15.99. They had some really nice looking roses for about $ 18/doz. I also like the fact that you can buy single stems or sprigs of things like lilies, irises, and gerbera daisies for pretty cheap. I bought a tiny bouquet of pink and red baby ginger with some greenery for only 2 bucks. They also had a really nice tropical looking bouquet for only 5 bucks! I wouldv’e bought one, but I didn’t have a big enough vase for it. The guy that works there seems pretty nice too.
