Annie W and Marc from Orange County!!! Hurray!!! A quick but nice get together as they made time during their vacation to meet up with the local folk. It’s even nicer to be able to put a face to a name and how sweet that is. Coupled with a great happy hour and pupus over at Chez Kenzo’s Bar & Grill was great fellowship… This is my week for meeting up with my Unilocal family near and far. Thank you Annie W for putting this UYE together

This UYE was made possible by Unilocal elite Annie W. from Orange County California. It was a nice change of pace from the usual Friday ritual for me, so I stopped for happy hour at this short, but cool UYE. Most of all, it was casual and laid back, after all, it was Friday and I was just beat up from work and needed to unwind. Enter this UYE and it was great. Unfortunately for me, I had a mind numbing migraine that prevented me from drinking liquor, so I just hung out and had water before the UYE disbursed at about 6:30pm. This hour long UYE was held at the Kenzo Bar and Grill, located on 1451 South King Street in Honolulu, near Kalakaua Avenue, the gateway to Waikiki. For so long, I have known about Kenzo’s, but never actually knew where it was. So lame! And so, I got here about 5:20pm, not knowing this joint at all, till I spotted Unilocal elite Terry K and I instantly felt a bit more comfortable. It was nice. I sat down on an empty chair and met the host Annie W and her husband, fellow Unilocaler Min K, and a Unilocal power couple from Mililani. Yup, it was a nice change of scenery that I am used to. Gym or at home working out. Lol while everyone else ordered drinks and food, I just had water and trying to get rid of my migraine that drama at work caused. Maybe I need a career change! With that said, Kenzo’s Bar and Grill is pretty spiffy for those who like the causal restaurant feel and liquid happy hour. The overall experience of this UYE was good. Got me out of the usual and met awesome people! The conversations were interesting and mostly about travel — at least with Annie’s husband, Marc. It was great to see Annie drink a few glasses of liquid sunshine, as it was soon to be her birthday! So happy birthday to you!!! I had fun, if only for an hour of conversation, food, and some photos. While I didn’t order anything, I had hope to return to Kenzo’s Bar and Grill for a taste and drink session down the road. For what it was worth, it was a nice way to start the weekend for sure!
