I’m all about meeting as many yeeps as possible, but sometimes a smaller scale UYE is better. SO while I loved Paul C. & Jo Y’s original dim sum dinner UYE at Happy Garden, I think I liked this second go around a bit better! Since the group was smaller this time around, we ended up just ordering the things we wanted to eat/try instead of sticking to the original menu Paul had planned out! For a table of eight, we ended up ordering 13 different items: 1) steamed shrimp dumpling 2) steamed shrimp & pork shumai 3) steamed chive dumpling 4) steamed corn dumpling 5) mochi gok w/mushroom filling 6) fried shrimp look fun 7) turnip cakes 8) fried chicken feet 9) fried squab 10) deep fried pug intestines(my pick! You only love once lol) 11) Ong choy 12) black bean chow fun w/beef 13) some kind of warm sweet soup that kind of looked like egg drop soup but tasted custardy Even with all that food, there was still left overs to take home! I’m also glad that everyone was at least willing to try a few bites of everything before deciding that they didn’t like something lol. On top of all of that, Paul brought containers of cookies for us to share from Lynn’s — -almond cookies to go w/our Chinese dinner & an assorted mix of other cookies they make. By then, most of us were too full to eat the cookies, but Paul was so prepared and brought ziplock for us to pack w/cookies to take home! Anywho, it was a good dinner w/good service, good company, and good food!
