UYE Virtual Vogue

Great virtual event! I was a bit late to sign in and check things out but I was able to choose some favorites easily. Robin was very helpful and accommodating. I received the items and it was like an early Christmas! Great experience!

Out of all the activities that I have been to IRL with Unilocal — this one has gotten me to learn more about Unilocal than I knew before since starting my profile in 2010.
Messaging, commenting, visiting other outside sites to enhance the experience, making new connections… doing more and more on site in Unilocal.
Our first assignment– make a photo and add it to our profile with the Vogue theme.
At another official Unilocal event, another Unilocaler took his cell phone and a selfie and had some app that allowed him to write and draw a giraffe next to his head and write « Unilocal Rules!» I mashed those 2 ideas together and well– results may very. I am not the coolest kid on the block– but I still like Unilocal.
This leads into the next activity…
On the comments board as we wait and watch to see what’s up next we see…

At different events, Cathy or Emi might say something about trying to get Unilocalers to be able to meet other Unilocalers and sometimes using an ice breaker is what is called for– Here the UYE is really great at getting us to interact virtually! Yeah I’m a FAN!
We were provided a link to the Virtual Vogue collection of beauty products/​soaps/​sun screen/​and other cool items. We got to view and see what it was we were getting ourselves into and a taste of what’s up.

11 am rolls around and we need to check in by messaging on Unilocal.Response time is quicker than standing in line (standing in line anywhere).
Robin did a wonderful job of responding quickly to questions and gave plenty of encouragement. Wonderful Job Robin on organizing a really well thought out UYE.
I don’t want to sound selfish– but how long are we going to have to wait for another Robin Virtual event? Again– Mahalo Nui Loa and wonderful ideas on how to get the Unilocal community more and more involved with the site, communicating and getting to know others while having fun!

Fun and New!

I can’t tell you how many times I get a little bummed because I can’t make it to so many cool Unilocal events. Having a little one at home, and a hubby who has a non predictable work schedule makes it hard to know for sure if I should RSVP to a Unilocal Event.
When I saw Robin’s UYE Virtual Vogue event, it was screaming my name.
What a cool idea! I hope there are a lot more virtual events to come in the future.
As suggested, I changed my profile picture to a selfie with one of my favorite fashion mags ‘Glamour’. Because it was late at night, and I was nowhere to feeling ‘fashionable’… I did what we girls love to do to get ready without actually getting ready. I threw on my favorite shades, put lipstick on and a pair of earrings… voila Selfie Selfie time! LOL.
Now you would think a virtual event may not be as interactive. However, Robin found ways to get us involved and social. Not only with changing our profile picture, but we even took a «Celebrity Selfie Soulmate» questionnaire. My match was with the great NPH… Neil Patrick Harris. I am such a huge fan of his, especially from HIMYM, so I was very pleased with my results.
We had fun chatting on the UYE Virtual Vogue thread, and she was such a pleasant host.
Thank you again Robin for this amazing UYE event, and especially making it so easy for us to attend by making it virtual.
