Got together with a bunch of old friends to make noise and for me to remember why I have a day job LOL. Room we had was pretty good — everything worked and rates were cheap. I’d have paid twice the rate for the same amount of time for a place like this back home. Can’t really respond to the other review about being a «member» because one of the other guys booked it and he may indeed fall under that category as he seemed to know the guy running the place pretty well. Parking is a bit of a challenge — you can park right across from the studio but you have to really park close as you can to the wall or you might get clipped by some car blowing past on Kawaiahao street — happens occasionally per the guy running the place. But anyway this is Kakaako — parking sucks here in general. They have a vending machine with reasonable prices for drinks. Last time I played in a place like this in Hawaii I believe it was at Harley’s old Wizard Studios in downtown. Good times.

Avoid at all cost unless you go with a «member».

This is good, fair, clean, conveniently located rehearsal studio. Ben and Trace do a great job of making it a comfortable and productive space. I have not used their recording facilities so I can not speak to them. We have tried a few different facilities and Vibe Asylum was good in their former home and even better in their new location. There are cheaper places to rehearse, but in my experience those owners are stoned, the customers are kids who shred the equipment and the carpeting is a level 3 biology experiment. Only issue with Vibe is that the central Kakaako location comes with parking challenges. Trace and Ben do a good job of letting you know where it’s safe to park and letting you know if they see your car in a spot where you are likely to get towed.
