This was a private opening party for Amy’s cheesecake spot. I was excited to be given the chance to come by because I’d been Unilocal stalking Cake Envy for a long time. This was a very last minute opportunity that popped up, but I’m glad it did cause I was having date night right next door at Brasserie du Vin with my hubby. This place has a prime location, right across from Hawaii theater amidst all the great downtown restaurants like Soul de Cuba. The interior is so cute with a large«delish«on one wall and chalkboard with«indulge» written on it, on the other wall. Sure puts you in the mood for sweets. There are two cases full of different cheesecakes at the counter and the list of her cheesecakes she can make(pre ordered or maybe available on different days) must be at least 50 different types! She sells cheesecake by the slice $ 6 or by the whole cake(not sure the price. We were greeted with flutes of champagne and bites of three different cheesecakes. We got to try crème Brulee which had a crusty, caramelized top just like a real crème brûlée, heath bar, and salted caramel. My favorite was the salted caramel cause that’s been my favorite new flavor for the last year. Her cheesecake was light and creamy… way better than a heavy, dense cheesecake I had at a new York deli last month. I can’t wait to be back and try some more of her unique flavors! Thanks Unilocal
