Waiakamilo Shopping Center contains a few of my favorite places to eat including The Original Pancake House and Ming’s Chinese Restaurant. It also contains a McDonald’s, an auto repair place, a variety of hostess bars, a liquor store, and more. This shopping center is rather small compared to other shopping centers, but it is still useful having this place here. I like coming here every so often. Parking is interesting as many of the stalls are marked«Reserved», some are marked«30 Minute Parking,» and some are marked«90 Minute Parking.»

This strip plaza looks and smells like it was transplanted from a mainland housing project during the mid-80s. The dumpsters for the street-side businesses face the front doors of the businesses along the back of the plaza. So as you’re standing outside of The Original Pancake House waiting for a seat, you get to smell the sweet aroma of another restaurant’s dumpster juice. Mmmmm. Also, the parking lot is absolutely laced with«reserved» spots. What does it all mean? Who are they reserved for? Nobody knows. Why 3 stars then? Pancakes with coconut syrup, that’s why.

Not much to say about this place. Been comin here since i was a kid… Its not much of a «shopping» center. Theres a few bars and places to eat like Mcdonalds, Waiakamilo Drive Inn, Pancake House and Mings Chineses Restaurant… There is a pet vet here, a hair salon and a liquor store… Parking can get pretty packed during the day
