I've been shopping at the location in Honolulu since it opened, Ive known some of the employees personally that are great As for the rest of the several hundred employees, they are all rude & disrespectful & constantly treat me like a criminal. I am not a thief. However if I were one, all I'd have to do is get someone else to steal for me. Because when I walk in , the all focus all of their attention on me. I always notice thieves in the store. But for some reason the entire staff thinks that I am the one stealing everything. They've snatched my receipt out of my hand as I leave. They've snatched whatever I've just purchased out of my hand when I leave. They're constantly stopping me to look through my bags. The law says the only reason they should or can stop someone is if they believe that person stole something. They select certain people to harrass on the way out. Me ? They search every single time. I've tried unsuccessfully speaking with management. They don't care. Also if I were a thief & really wanted to steal from there, I'd work there. I can't tell you the number of times I've witnessed the staff stealing not just $20 or $40 worth of stuff. I've seen them taking thousands of dollars of stiluff. I could tell some really interesting ways to steal from Walmart quite easily. Just work there. But I get searched by the employees ?!?!? Yeah. That's right. & Whoever they have working security. I've been stopped & held unna small room for mistaken identity. Had the cops called on me & had to wait. & That was in the way in the store. I saw & heard the security guard get called & told to not let that person come in. However it was the guy in front of me & his buddy walking in with no problem & as I'm being held up they waltzed right in our with their backpacks stuffed. So what I'm saying is, that Walmart hasn't been a pleasant experience for me. But if you work there, there are a lot of benefits. Like tvs. Bikes. Computers. Clothes. Whatever they have us yours if you work there & know what you're doing. There are so many angles. But it's me who has never stolen a single thing from there or any other stores here that gets HARRASSED & humiliated & embarrassed & profiled & seen as the criminal to always be in the lookout for. Walmart ain't good. It's horrible.

They sell single boxes and packs of macadamia chocolates.
They are about $ 3 per box or $ 18 per pack.
They also have Hawaiian cookies, coffee, and more!

So researching my trip to Hawaii, i decided to listen to others that walmart or costco were my best bet for saving some $$ on our trip to Hawaii. We came here to purchase a case of water and some sunblock as airlines do not allow you to bring large bottles of lotion/​liquids as carry on items. i would suggest going with the medium or small bottle of lotion. Do not waste your money on the 33% more bottles cuz that will cost you more and you could potentially have to chuck the bottle out at the airport (like we did). the mauna loa macadamia nuts are not cheap here, nor were the souvenirs we tried to get for our friends and family at home. if you are staying in waikiki do not buy souvenirs here. there is a shopping row on Duke Lane in between Kuhio Avenue and Kalakaua Avenue that allows you to bargain on all your souvenir needs. the parking garage here is also terrible as it is shared with Sam’s Clubs and other strip mall restaurants. we got a case of 36 bottles of water for $ 4. Super cheap, but everything else. not so much. Next trip we will be checking out the costco instead.

Crowded in the aisles, even for a Walmart. Employees often block the areas while stocking. Jovita, the cashier that waited on me, was pretty unhelpful. However, they have a nice assortment of Hawaii-​flavored stuff, like potato chips, drinks, chocolates, cookies, macadamia nuts, and souvenirs. I also like their parking garage.

Went the restroom and the guy in the next stall literally dropped his needle while shooting up. This was a little disturbing.
But I still bought all my cheap souvenir gifts for everyone back home here

I am outraged at the discrimination WalMart has against the people of Hawaii. They have horrible attitudes at the store, and exclude Hawaii from their nation wide price matching policy, refuse to price match their own website, much less their major competitors like amazon, target, etc., THEY EVEN REFUSE TO PRICE MATCH THEIR OTHER LOCAL STORES WITH LESSER PRICES! The Walmart in Honolulu, HI, store 3 478, has a price bracket of at least $.50−1.50 more than the other local Walmart stores, out in Kapolei, HI, Waipahu, HI, etc. the price bracket is also anywhere between $ 2-​$ 10 + more than their mainland stores! I know, because I actually liked Walmart in Texas! It really hurts our local economy, and there are hundreds of homeless people living all around the neighborhood of the Honolulu Walmart, the same store that is price gouging customers.
(Aside from my view on WalMart that is perfectly summarized in the South Park episode s8e9 «something wal-​mart this way comes»…). The customer service experience for the stores in Hawaii are atrocious!!! 0 stars! Wish it went into negative stars for these stores.
As horrible as Texas was, their Wal-​Mart super centers up there were very very nice. Stores were brand new, it was literally a one stop shop – like a full Safeway and a full WalMart in one store. And the prices were really low. WalMart is still a greedy, evol conglomerate that forces small local mom and pop shops out of business, as a universal rule… However the B.S. In Hawaii is outrageous! For one, the price difference of the Keeaumoku store versus the Kapolei store, or any of the other stores out on the west side, is staggering. Everything is priced at least $ 1 more than the stores out west. It adds up! And it really p1 $$ 3 $ me off! Sorry for the outburst… But WTF??? It’s not like people around the Keeaumoku area are richer, in fact, it’s the opposite. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still way overpriced— items in Texas are approximately 40−80% less than most of the identical ones in Hawaii. (Except alcohol – way more. And they don’t sell anything above 3% or something in a general/​grocery store, but that’s all due to Bible Belt BS state
despite the considerable general weight of liquid-​in regard to shipping it to Hawaii, it’s still way cheaper across the board on this category alone.) for example: 12 pk soda is 2.48 or something up there, here is like 8.98 or something !
What really irritates me is that they are so big that they pretty much have control over much of the retail aspect of Hawaiis cr@ppy economy and are responsible for sinking it lower and lower. If you are Akamai, (and cheap like me), if you go longs or Safeway, etc., I shop sale tags exclusively. It is so rare that I purchase anything ever locally that is regular price. If no sale, then I get ‘em at Amazon. (I Amazon… But that’s another story.). Walmart is more expensive than the average sale price here, and that’s inexcusable. The cashiers are so poorly informed, they flat out refuse to match not only local competitors, online price matching

This is why I despise Walmart, dread ever having to patronize it, am now even more resolved to boycott Walmart completely, and am sickened by their disregard for even basic customer service.
My last trip, the cashier erroneously double-​ringed (rang?) 2 items, which I didn’t notice untilI scanned the items into the savings catcher app, because it pictures the items, and the paper receipts from the stores only give a vague, generic semi-​description that really doesn’t make it easy to review the purchase. So they made a mistake, and I had to go back to get the errors corrected. It should have been done correctly the first time, but the worst part was that the b1tch MOD said that I had to wait in the 45 min. Long return line to correct the store’s errors. (Ever notice that they never err against their favor, it’s always an overring/​against the interest of the consumer.?!).
The extra inconvenience took a total of 45 minutes. Unacceptable!!!

No one actually enjoys shopping at Wal-​mart do they? This Wal-​Mart is always SO crowded, I really don’t know how anyone works here and stays sane. I have a mini panic attack every time I have to navigate through this store but sometimes you got to do it for the cheapest prices on some items and no shipping costs (versus online shopping). As with most Wal-​Marts, but especially this one– remember that patience is a virtue.

I always loved going to walmart at Keeamoku and I always strive to find good deals! I bought lots of products under $ 5 and it was 50% off. I came home with 3 bags! heavy but good stuffs!

Dedicated Walmart customer. So when I see a good price I’m going to take it! My boyfriend was excited to see a dartboard for $ 10.47 and we wanted to buy it. We decided to price check the board and it was double the price. Because we wanted to have Walmart honor their mistake of misplacement, we took a picture of the dartboard product that was by the $ 10.47 price tag. It was the same name so we assumed that’s it. Right?!
To be sure, we asked an employee around the area. She was going on break so she asked another employee to move it because it was wrongly placed. But she insisted that if we tell the register, they should give it to us for the price we saw.
So we check out at the register and it rang up $ 22 so we was explaining to the employee what had happened. She had another employee come by and I didn’t like her attitude when she was informing us it was not the correct one. WE KNOW ITS NOT THE CORRECT ONE BECAUSE THE PRICE WASNT MATCHING. We wasn’t fucken stupid. She asked another employee to check.
So when the third fucken employee came by he told us it wasn’t the correct one. (Tell us something we don’t know). We showed him the picture and explained that we talk to the employee and she asked another one to move it so of course when he checks it’s not gonna be there. (Stupid). He said our picture was too zoomed in for him to identify where we saw it. But we made it close so it was CLEAR that this item is descripted the same with the $ 10.47 price.
Now, I know it’s $ 10, some people would say who cares? But it’s the fact that I had 3 different people tell me at register that it’s not the right one and DID NOT WANT TO HONOR OUR PROOF. Like why the fuck would I lie about it being somewhere (with a picture mind you) and you guys have the nerve to make like I’m lying. You guys can’t read the description??? Was the same!!! Wasted our time waiting for you folks to figure that bullshit out just for you guys to repeat yourself. Should I be taking the drive to target?! I’m so furious with the customer service you guys don’t have!

I frequent this particular Walmart a lot… mainly cuz I’m a «townie», and this is the most convenient Walmart in proximity to my house.
What do I come here for? I mainly come here for the following —
1. Automotive stuff — yes gang, I can change my own oil in my car, as well as do a few other automotive things…
2. Snacks — Yup… they got all kinds of stuff here! Chips, candy, cookies, pastries, ice cream, you name it… they probably got it too! And the nice thing about Hawaii’s Walmart is they have the right sense in carrying the local items too!
3. Electronics — Mainly to look at dvd’s.
4. Mags — To kill time… I like to read da mags here!
That sums up my shopping experience here… I do once in a while pick up household products, as the paints, tools, & pluming products are pretty cheap here, and some of the pluming items are exactly like what you could get at Home Depot, only cheaper. But bear in mind… they don’t nearly have as much household items as Home Depot.
Also if you’re looking for cheap clothing, or shoes… they have it here too!
What would I do without you Walmart? Probably go to Kmart (even more ghetto!). Buwahahahaha!

I’m so frustrated I tried to buy 50 gift cards and spend $ 1000 at Walmart, they claim they do not have envelopes for the gift cards.

I try not to come here too often, but I had to venture here for an item which I forgot any way. The store was surprisingly orderly despite it being Black Friday. Usually there is a great level of things tosses around, but today was a good day. All hands on deck I’m sure is what helps them.
For the store that seems to have everything didn’t have any Hanukkah items whatsoever. I couldn’t find any little gift items or wrapping paper. I was in the card aisle and not even a single card could be found. SMH. I guess Hallmark will have to be my stop for cards and See’s for some candies. I did ask an associate if they had any Hanukkah items and she asked if was an ornament. I smiled and explained to her what it was. I asked her to locate someone who could assist me and he confirmed there was not one Hanukkah item in the store he was aware of.
I did find some dark blue, light blue and white sprinkles which I will use on cupcakes since I’m not going to fry donuts anytime soon. I should and use the sprinkles on them. That’s as close to Hanukkah WalMart is going to get.

This is not the best Walmart! The selection is scarce and the ailed are so crammed with people it’s hard to maneuver around them. The prices are good, but because of the selection I prefer to go to Safeway or drive to Target. Id rather spend more money than go in Walmart.
SAMs club is right above it so that’s pretty convenient.
If you want to get in and out quickly, go to the self check. The line is usually long but it moves very fast.

I’ve heard so many «horror stories» about Walmart’s poor customer service or indifferent employees but on my FIRST visit to Walmart, I was greeted by a friendly and happy employee. She sounded so genuine with her «Welcome to Walmart» that I even started to get giddy about being in the store.
As I wandered about, I noticed the little eateries, banking services and utility payment stations. Hey, there was even a L&L Hawaiian BBQ, Starbucks, Jamba Juice and even a Golden Coin Filipino Bakery in this complex. Upstairs in this Walmart complex, there was a Sam’s Club, too.
Back to my shopping… I came in specifically to look for a microfiber mop and Bona floor cleaner and wax. Being that I wasn’t familiar with the layout of this store and even though there is clear signage, I sought out a sales associate. Found one almost immediately and he pointed me in the direction and even told me the aisle number. Within a few minutes, I walked over and found the products that I was looking for. I noticed that they were priced even lower than at a couple other home improvement stores.
Okay, now that I had the items in hand, I headed to the cashiers… Yikes! The lines were long at all of the checkout stands, including self-​checkout. I took the chance to stand in line for self-​checkout and the process didn’t take but a few minutes and the transaction went through without a hitch!
I was in and out of the store within 20 minutes even with roaming about! The customer service and sales associates seem to be helpful and friendly. For sure, the prices are inexpensive so I’ll not be such a snob and will certainly return when I need something in a pinch.

WALMART HONOLULU EMPLOYEES DONT CARE ABOUT NURSING MOTHERS
UPDATE: After leaving feedback online, Walmart Honolulu Zone Manager called me. I explained to her what happened and she told me they have a nursing room available but neither the two cashiers nor the store manager told me that when I complained. So she says she will have to educate her employees. Crazy that at least the store manager didn’t know that. He should also take customer service also.
I needed a place to nurse my infant while shopping at Walmart Honolulu today. I waited outside the occupied Family Restroom stall next to Customer Service for over 15 minutes while my infant cried and cried. I finally had to start nursing him standing up. When the person finally came out of the stall, I was shocked that it was a WALMART EMPLOYEE using it as his personal stall. I was so upset. I called him out and said «this is a family stall» but he didn’t give a care. When I spoke to the manager he sided with the employee and saying that «there must have not been another bathroom available». This is Monday mid-​morning– the store was practically empty. You mean to tell me that out the 2 bathrooms with 15+ stalls on a Monday morning, the Family Restroom was his only option?! I think what upsets me the most is the crappy attitude of the employees and management of the store. Just take accountability and apologize. or is this attitude representative of Walmart as a whole?

Ugh, Walmart. Before I begin, my wife forced me to tag along with her. This place is huge and is basically a crappier Target.
There is a cool area in the back where the cats hang out at night. It’s like 20 cats hanging around the parking lot, lounging and probably doing shady cat drug deals.
Even on a Monday night at 8:30 PM it was still crowded. It’s a ²⁴⁄₇ Walmart and they have lots of things there.
I prefer to buy local, but ²⁴⁄₇ cheap stuff is hard to beat sometimes. I support local produce and business as much as I can, except when my wife makes me get febreze and paint brushes.
It was clean and not as shady as the ones in Oklahoma.

This is probably the busiest Walmart on Oahu but located in the main shopping area near Ala Moana center. Lot of the shelves are usually bare as they run out of items very quickly. Its a good option with the Walmart price options but the other West side and downtown stores are better stocked and cleaner.

This Walmart location is busy anytime of the day or well for all the times I’ve gone. To avoid the hassle of trying to wait for parking downstairs I would park 2^nd floor and walk down the stairs. There’s ample of parking on the 2^nd level and if you hate finding parking there I would bet on finding parking upstairs quicker. I hate when I come here and the shelves are not stocked. I’ve ran into this issue a few times when looking for certain items.
Customer service isn’t that great as well especially when I’m trying to look for someone for help. There’s no help to be found. At times I feel like I’m walking around the whole store looking for someone to help me and when I do that person tells me to look for someone in that section to help me. I hate when I get the runarounds. Long lines are inevitable here but you just gotta deal with it. Sometimes, I actually just go to the back of the store in the photo dept to see if I can pay there to avoid the hectic lines.
But Walmart is definitely known for their low prices so that’s why I keep coming back. You can find almost anything and everything here. It’s affordable than any other store. Walmart is dangerous for me! Just when you think you’re only suppose to go there for 1 item you come out with a cart full! That’s how it always is when you shop at Walmart, you’ll always always find something you need or maybe just want to buy because you see it.
Plastic bag ban took into effect July 1, 2015, so they now have those reusable bags you can buy or they offer those sustainable recyclable reusable bags that are thicker and meant to reuse the next time you come. But it’s not meant for all of your items as you’re suppose to start bringing in your own reusable bags. I wasn’t able to get a bag for my liquid soap detergent so I had to carry that thing out. Is it only offered for certain items?! hmmm…

Love the fact that they have tons of affordable souvenirs here. They offer a lot of the same things that are sold around the Waikiki Beach gift shops, but much cheaper. This Walmart is also super clean and organized, which I greatly appreciate. I was shocked to see a clean restroom! I’m guessing all the previous complaints about it encouraged them to change, and thank you for doing so. I almost never come across a clean restroom at Walmart. Please keep up the good work on the cleanliness.
The employees were quick and friendly. I thought it was cool that they have a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant inside, it caught my eye because the Walmart’s I’ve been to usually have a Subway or McDonald’s. I enjoyed walking around and looking at the different things sold here that are unique to Hawaii. I found a bunch of Hawaiian Sun drink and pancake mixes, which all taste great. They were easy to pack in my luggage and easy to prepare at home.

Just getting around to this review. This store I believe is one of the seven Walmarts on Oahu and it’s a decent place to get souvenirs, leis, macadamia nuts, and etc if you don’t want to go elsewhere. I’m not sure how authentic some of the merchandise is, but if you’re trying to grab some gifts before you head to the airport, come here.
The parking garage is as hectic as the store and no one seems to look out while they are backing up. Point blank it’s very very busy here but then again, what Walmart isn’t? This Walmart was actually our first stop after getting off the plane and after picking up our rental car. We didn’t want to bother with the rules and regulations of the TSA and airline on carry-​on liquids and such so we didn’t bring anything and just bought items that we could share during the trip. We also bought a snorkel set which came in handy and also some food and general munchies to avoid spending bucket loads on food. It’s kind of perfect to stock up on food though if you’re on vacation. Don’t get me wrong, we still ate out, but going to Walmart helped.
My sister was able to get some «throw away» clothes as well to use just for the vacation and then… throw away. I didn’t have any problems with this Walmart other than the parking and it was kind of weird to see several people get arrested for shoplifting while we were there. Sooooooo… ya.

I fear having to deal with customer service at any Walmart.
At this location, my experience with customer service has been mixed. I recently had to buy an external drive and I could not locate them where I normally see them in the electronics section. Trying to find an associate was difficult. I would think you would want someone here at all times. It is one of your top selling depts if not #1. Fortunately, when I finally found one he knew exactly where they were.
Another time I was looking for a mailbox lock. Thought it would be where the locks are. None there. Sometimes they put stuff in weird locations. So, I walked through every aisle in hardware to no avail. Let’s look for an associate. When I finally got an associate and asked he immediately turned around and walked. I followed him down every aisle I just went through. He turns back around to tell me he can’t find it. Coming down the main aisle were three other associates that seemed to be checking how the shelves were looking and what they needed yet to do. I asked would they know? He asked and they started looking going down every aisle we just went through. I stayed standing in the spot I was. I did not feel like walking around again like a bunch of little ducklings. One of them comes back apologizes and says they don’t carry it.
I do get my prescriptions from here. I wish they would open early so I can have those same advantages. I can’t see what they’re looking on their little screens when I come for pick up. So, I don’t understand why it takes so long to pull it up, take it off the hooks, ring it up. Then, I have to wait for an official pharmacist to explain to me about the drugs that I’ve been taking for years. Just give me the drugs. You see me every month getting the same thing do we really need to go through this? Really?
Parking gets ridiculous here too. I try to avoid that by coming in the wee hours like 6:30am where I get premium parking right in the very front. The are several advantages to that. Hardly anyone there. Once everyone is up this place is just packed not just with locals but with tourist trying to get food they can eat cause it’s expensive here. And, buying their souvenirs to bring back for everyone. After 8:30pm they start bringing the pallets out for their overnight stocker shift. I feel like I’m walking through a maze.
Why do I come here? Cheap prices and closest to home. Sometimes if I can’t find street parking, I’ll park here then walk to the restaurant I want to eat at. After I do my thing here, I can walk around the corner, street side, and hit up the Starbuckie. Phew! Thank goodness for that. (Your doctor said lay off the coffee, even the decaf.) Who said that? Shut up.
