Good alternative to lunch while working on Lagoon Drive since the only other place in walking distance is the Chinese restaurant… They normally have good plate lunch specials. I like that there’s always different specials to keep it interesting. Though sometimes they run out, so that sucks. The staff are very nice and accommodating if you have allergies. I really like their chicken long rice and seafood curry.

Went early to the Mililani Eat the Street & tried their $ 21 sampler plate that my fellow Unilocalers took a picture of — half a lobster, steak pieces, 2 garlic shrimp, & their dinosaur bone(a big beef rib). The lobster was tasty but a little tough; beef rib was meaty with a slightly spicy tangy sauce; shrimp was good; steak was average; better food at the Kau Kau grill — see my notes there.

I found this truck last night at Kapolei’s Eat The Street. Since they had a line and ton of people surrounding the truck, I thought how bad can this be? Trucks with the biggest crowds tend to have the best food. I ordered the sampler, which consisted of half a lobster stuff crab, a dinosaur bone(large pork bone), two pieces of garlic butter shrimp, and 4 – 5 small pieces of steak… all for the bargain price of 20 $(that’s sarcasm btw). The stuffed lobster was actually quite tasty and moist… priced at 16 $(price without all the other stuff).is not worth it. The shrimp was ok as was the steak. However the dinosaur bone had flavors that were just way too strong. It was a bit dry. I took exactly two bites and had to dump the rest. Their biggest fault? Nope. not the dinosaur bone. It’s the wait. I timed them. and it took exactly 15 minutes from the time that I paid to the moment they called my name and gave me my order. I wasn’t the only impatient one. Everyone stood with arms crossed and saying«this is ridiculous» while staring at the folks in the truck. Normally 15 minutes isn’t a long wait at a restaurant, but at a food truck festival, it’s really too long. Folks like to buy a bite, eat and move on to the next truck. Since my family was hungry, they went on to see what else was available. By the time they had come back, they ate and were full. So much for eating together as a family… I’d be a bit more forgiving if they had told me it was going to take 15 minutes. Just sayin…

Just recently tried this lunchwagon in Mapunapuna. It’s.outward appearance seems to be a pretty clean operation. I believe they make the food to order so it’s hot and fresh. I initially ordered the hot roast beef sandwhich but they said they were out of mashed potatoes which would lead me to believe we are definetely not their first stop and also that their turkey and roast beef sandwhiches must be popular. My second choice was their pastrami sandwhich. I had to wait about 5 min which was no prob and wasn’t slow or fast. The pastrami sandwhich consisted 9″ inch french bread with nice iceberg(I think) lettuce onions and pastrami(I ordered mine without mayo or mustard). It wasn’t bad for $ 6.00 not good nor bad but good enough that I will definetely be open to try other stuff they have on the menu.
