Young David, MD

Dr Young is a good with the kids and makes it easy for them to get a checkup. he has lots of toys, sings and plays with the kids. would highly recommend him if you have young kids.

DR. Young is by far the very best children’s eye doctor in Hawaii hands down!
and we have seen 2 other ped’s eye doctors.
My daughter was lucky we got Dr. Young while she was in the hospital as a preemie (at that time they rotated with 2 other doctors)
She has been seeing him since she was about a 1 month old and she is now 10 years old.
He is so caring and patient. When she was younger he would need to look into the back of her eyes and would need to hold her eyes open wide for long periods of time (threaten retina detachment) He would be patient and go as long as she could handle then let her rest and do it again.
2 x in her young life she needed second opinions by those other doctors who also only see Peds’ and immediately they put prongs in her eye lids and forced her eye lids open so they could get the job down faster. They didn’t care she was screaming her head off or that the mother was freaking out by this action.
I have asked many times for him to be my eye doctor but dang it he only likes the keiki.
Best Ped’s eye doctor ever…
By the way don’t get fooled by eye doctors who say they do kids. if they do adults also they are family eye doctor nothing beats and eye doctor that only specialized in kids.
Also Dr. Young has the best toys chair side that he uses to get your child’s attention.

Our son recently saw Dr. Young to check his eyesight. He was friendly, down to earth, and was great with our son. He was able to hold his short attention span while completing his exam. At the end of the exam he also gave great tips and suggestions to maintain our son’s vision. Overall, I could easily understand why our pediatrician had recommended him. I would recommend Dr. Young to any parent!

I always get referrals from my daughter’s pediatrician; Dr. Young was his recommendation and I’m so thankful. Dr. Young is very patient and made my daughter feel so comfortable on her first visit — that was over 10 years ago. She now reminds me to make her annual check up appointment. I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Young is very carrying and nice. He’s good at what he does, no questions asked. He did a real good job for my daughter’s surgery (strabismus). I recommend this Dr. For your children’s ophthalmology.

Four years ago, Dr. David Young operated on a sty (sp?) in my son’s lower eyelid. So that it would interfere with school, and that he’d have plenty of rest, he did the operation on Christmas Eve. Knowing that he had a young son was very comforting.
Dr Young was exceptionally good with our son. He was able to keep his attention and still evaluate his condition without upsetting him. But what I appreciated the most, was allowing my wife to accompany our son into the OR to comfort him as he went under, and then his beside manner in consoling my wife as she cried.
Everything turned out great and we had a wonderful Christmas the next day.
