We walked in to Camp 1805 because we had a half hour wait for a table at the pizza place next door. Our plan was to get a cocktail while we waited. We met Chris, one of the owners, on our way in. He was really friendly and super chill. He told us about the distillery and the food, made a few suggestions. We sat at the bar to decide on a cocktail. I had the Life is Beautiful, made with house-made limoncello. So unique and so good. My friend had their house made vodka, on the rocks. It did not disappoint. Our waitress was Sarah. she answered all our questions and made some suggestions. We ordered the tri-tip sandwich with chips and the sliders with a house salad. The food was all so good! The salad was fresh with a bright, lively balsamic vinaigrette. The sliders were organic beef with a nice, spicy kick. The tri-tip sandwich was on a locally made bread, perfectly cooked, with a really delicious chimmichura. Even the chips were great. The bartender, Dana, made me a rum drink that was not on the menu and incredibly delicious. We are so glad we walked in to Camp 1805! Friendly staff, exceptional food. Really good booze. What more could a person ask for? We cancelled our table next door.

The most delicious cocktails in Hood River, besides the Shed. Friendly bartenders. I do think the tacos are a little pricy. Someone has to pay for that view!

We started with a flight of 5 of their spirits. The rums and white whiskey(i.e. moonshine) were not that great. The barrel aged whiskey showed some potential but is just way too young still. The vodka, however, was a really lovely surprise — lots of flavor and nuance; really liked it. We ordered the Ploughman’s plate, which was one of the most generous I’ve had in a long time. Ample bread slices, two types of cheese(manchego and camembert), house made pickles, three types of meat(serrano, chorizo, and salami), a nice mustard and a bit of honey. After that, we had the sliders. They were juicy and flavorful, served on Hawaiian bread for a nice twist with the spicy mayo. To top it off, we enjoyed the housemade brownie with vanilla ice-cream and their caramel sauce. We wished the brownie had nuts(or an option of nuts on top) but realize that’s a personal preference. The drinks(the French75 and Mt. Hood Mule) were both excellent — strong and well balanced. With the exception of the liquor itself not being superb, this was an excellent experience that we’d come back for again.

Camp 1805 Distillery & Bar on the Hood River Waterfront is a nice stop. We tried their house vodka, rum, and whisky flight for only $ 5. The house Mt. Hood Vodka mixed perfectly with the peach shrub, tonic, and tyme sprig in a special cocktail called, Georgia on my mind. It was very refreshing. As for both the white and aged rum and whisky, the whisky edged out the rum by a small margin. As for the Happy Hour eats, we only had the pork tacos, but they were delicious. It was just missing a little heat, however. The bartender was a pro and the quality of our cocktail was good. He was working the room solo so the only issue was trying to get the check. We were making our way to Solstice and Pfriem and were in a hurry for not enough of a good reason. Next time we are in Hood River, we would like linger and try some more cocktails and happy hour eats at Camp 1805. Can’t wait.

I’ve very much enjoyed all of my visits here and have purchased several great bottles of rum and whiskey for home. My only complaint would be that once, soon after their opening, several of my table’s drinks were accidentally served with pepper vodka instead of regular… It was an interesting addition to a lemon drop. They fixed our drinks and apologized as soon as we told them of the mistake. No problems since then, will be back and recommend for others!

I want to like them, because they’re a craft distillery in a land of cider and beer. And they have such a nice looking label! But the liquors are just terrible. I enjoy sipping on any good liquor(although mood depending, you might find me most often sitting down to a scotch, bourbon, gin, or interesting rum). We got a taster to try them all: 1 vodka, 2 rum, 2 whiskey. The white whiskey was the most interesting because who’s ever heard of a clear, unaged whiskey?! But each taster was simply awful. I felt like we needed a chaser after each sip, and that’s really not the way I prefer to sample liquor. I left all but 1 liquor on the table, finding their 10 mo. aged whiskey to at least be palatable. The AMBIANCE is nice, however, which is why Camp 1805 gets 2 stars. The wall of glass showing the distillery in action is really neat, and the offset asymmetrical design of the room and tables is interesting, and allows for many L shaped seatings. The hard dark woods provides for a cozy feeling, even though the temperature overall here is pretty chilly(had to leave my jacket on). And most of all, I like how when you walk in, it smells of oak barrels and aging liquid crafts. If I went back, it would be to share some small bites over a cocktail(made with other-than-their-own-distilIings) when the distillery is in action.

We went to this place after a not so great dinner experience at an establishment right down the street. Our«waiter» came to the table and told us straight away the he isn’t a great waiter. We asked him for the unaged and aged whiskey so that we could compare. He said they were out, but after we expressed disappointment he gave use a great little flight for $ 5(including the whiskey they were«out of» from the«library»!) and then comped it because we bought a bottle of rum. After he introduced himself as Chris I realized that his mug is on the back of the bottle. The not so great waiter is actually one of the distillers! Who woulda’ thunk it? This place is very young, as is the whiskey, but for their age, both are great and I’m excited to see them grow up!

Absolutely a perfect Lemon Drop! However, poor service. The«GM» as he referred to himself, was not friendly nor did he even act like he wanted us there. When I paid for the bill he brought no change as he expected it so that’s what he got in hall and although I was going to leave him more I didn’t because he was rude in his personality and then not bringing the change. I can tell you that the lemon drop was one of the best I’ve ever had but half of the part I’m going to a bar like this is service which this place did not have today. Very disappointed.

I am moving. That’s it! I AMMOVING! haha This was my first time doing more than DRIVING through Hood River and I fell in love. We were there for a friend’s birthday and she wanted to go to Pfreme(sp?) but they had a long wait… I have a broken leg and I am not much of a beer fan anyways… so while we waited, we drove down the street and found Camp 1805. We were greeted with a friendly attitude and some good drink suggestions. I was thrilled to suck down a Moscow Mule in an actual copper cup(sick of bars without those!) and munch on an awesome cheese platter. Spent about … oh I dunno, 40 – 60 minutes there. Bartender was friendly… atmosphere was mellow. It was like going to one of the craft cocktail snobby places in Portland but minus the attitude! I got no shit for ordering a drink with vodka, so that is always a win for me. Can’t wait to spend some more time in this beautiful town and hit up Camp 1805 again.

the snobs seem to like it, but the bartender seems like a snob. go figure. he tells me they’re «already closed» _after_pouring the drink. I tried to ask how much later they’re staying open(a big party was staying late), but he basically put his hand in my face. then spilled the drink, didn’t even apologize.

Try their aged whiskey and their pork tacos, they will blow your mind. Happy hour is awesome… don’t skimp on the tacos, order two plates and you won’t regret it.

Best bartender! Cocktails were made with exquisite care. Only 3 of their own spirits, but they also carry some of the usual suspects. Had the sazerac, delish. Got to try the amaretto sour — all agreed it was the best amaretto sour we had ever tasted. If back in Hood River, this will be on my list. Drinks are spendy $ 9+. Great location near the Columbia river.

There are so many AWESOME things to say about this bar… I am not even sure where to start! My buddy and I landed here to watch the NFL play-offs and absolutely enjoyed our time. I guess I want to start with entering this rustic wonderland of an establishment; the copper casks on display are a sight for eyes and the restored and reclaimed wood makes the new rustic feel a cozy joint to meet up with friends. We were greeted by the friendly bartender, Eric who turned out to be exceptional mixologist. The cocktail list was phenom(my buddy settled for a Mt. Hood Mule and described it as the«Best in Town») and the menu rocked — it was exactly what we were looking for, we decided on a cheese platter(an assortment of 6 cheeses, a jelly pâté, a dish of honey, pear slices and slices of a baguette) and carne tacos to snack on during the game. Wow our socks were knocked off, not only by the fast service and deliciousness of the food, but the Cowboys were making a huge comeback in the 3rd quarter. To top it off, the music playing in the background was tying the whole experience together. The best station we had ever heard! After a tasting, a bottle of the Vodka and Whiskey were purchased! All-in-All we were #winning and having a brilliant Sunday Funday! I would recommend this bar to anyone coming into town! Five Stars for 5 reasons: 1. Great Locally Made Vodka, Rum, and Whiskey cocktails 2. Waterfront Location 3. Carne Tacos 4. Music(station a mystery) 5. Big Screen T.V.

Loved this place! Chris was great and told us all about the whiskey… the first batch. The old fashion was solid. And the lantern display added to the ambiance. All the wood was salvaged from the Pendleton factory. Can’t wait to see this place next summer. Plus big fan of goldfish. :)
