Echo River Trips is a great company! We went with them on a 4-day/3-night trip down the Rogue River in July 2013. The guides were great! Knowledgeable, hilarious, entertaining, encouraging, and very experienced. They shared with us about the history and culture of the area as well as including many side activities like hiking to a natural water slide, stopping at a jumping rock, and hiking to an historical lodge. They had appetizers and cold drinks ready for us as soon as we camped for the night, and three great meals a day. We had the chance to ride in the paddle boat and get doused in the rapids, relax in the oar boats, and even take the inflatable kayaks through calm and rapid water. Their instruction was clear and I completely trusted them when they made judgements about our safety. Water fights, swimming, and lots of laughs. We had a great time. I highly recommend them and plan to go with them on another trip in the future. Jeni was a great trip leader and all the guides were wonderful.

I went on the 4 day/3 night Rogue River trip with ECHO over Memorial Day weekend in 2011. The weather was awful; it rained most of the time, it was cold, windy, and we only had [maybe] two hours of sun each day to try to dry out. Even so, I wouldn’t change a thing about this trip! First off, the river guides were all fantastic. I want to give a special thanks to Billy for loaning me his dry pants and dry top so I could keep spending all my time in the IK(inflatable kayak/ducky). The others(Lexie, Emma, Ryan, and… uh oh. no hard feelings) were also great; they were there to have fun, they entertained us, led us, and were pretty much the best team anyone could want. They cooked some amazing food, too; Emma is a fellow mostly-vegetarian and took extra care in making my dinners as delicious as possible. The grilled portobello with balsamic glaze? Mmmmmm. The route itself wasn’t that technically challenging, even for a newbie like me — though I did flip on day one, along with the other two duckies — but it was very fun and truly«wild and scenic.» Whether you want the rush of the IK or just want to sit back in an oar boat and let the guide do everything, this trip can satisfy you. In conclusion, I highly recommend taking this trip with ECHO. Hopefully your weather will be better than mine was, but even that didn’t spoil my fun. Oh, and one suggestion: if you have your own camping gear(tent, bag, and pad), bring it. Don’t worry about looking like a gear snob… their equipment was sufficient, but it sucked to pull a tent out of the pile and realize that the last person who used it filled it with sand. It isn’t ECHO’s fault, but it wasn’t ideal.

We did a four day/three night trip down the Rogue River, out of Galice, OR(near Grants Pass). ECHO did a great job. The guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and safe and did a great job. The scenery and wildlife were amazing and ECHO did a great job of showing it to us, while keeping us well fed and happy. I’d definitely do another trip with ECHO.

I have had positive experiences with Echo both as a guest and interfacing with them while on a private trip. Their guides are top notch, knowledgable, very entertaining, and when it come to food they are first class. If you love the outdoors and love adventure, there is nobody better suited to get you and your family safely down the river in style. They will leave you dreaming about your next river trip and with memories to last a lifetime.
