I would say«like grandma’s», but my grandmother burned everything. :) I ordered chicken tenders, two sides, and dessert. The servings are large, they have plenty of to-go plates. Everything I order was fresh and had wonderful flavor. Save room for dessert, get the peanut butter pie!

Solid, fresh food. I swing by here after church on Sunday and it was delicious. Fast and friendly service. Clean and unique environment inside the school. And great food and Company.

My wife teaches at Bluffpark Elementary. Capers is the old school lunchroom and brings back days of olé. The taste is great, the service is great, the portion is huge. We made a two go boxes and made another meal that night . Saw many familiar faces at Sunday lunch. Meatloaf Mac & Cheese Okra & Tom Old School Rolls.

Excellent normal everyday food. Lots of healthy choices, many great vegetable sides. Cafeteria type service and atmosphere. I had salmon and it was as good as I’ve had anywhere, perfectly prepared. I’ll be back.

We ordered a large pan of Sweet Potatoes to round out our Thanksgiving at home and the dish was warmly received and enjoyed by everyone in our family! We’ve also had lunch there several times and can recommend this meat & three, although be warned, the portions are HUGE. One lunch would be enough for two people to split.

I really like the setting and the neat tables they have for dining on. They have a large selection of condiments and add-ons, gratis. We tried the beef chuck roast with gravy, baked herb crusted chicken breast, cornbread, rutabagas, Italian cut pole beans with tomatoes, cream-style corn and mashed potatoes. We got there at about 2:00PM and they were out of some items, and, the food had been sitting on the steam table for hours, so that may account for some faults. The rutabagas were way overcooked and not seasoned at all. They were very bland. Chicken breast was mediocre with no crispiness. The cornbread was okay after I microwaved it. It was homemade. Pole beans were good, but not fresh. Corn had been frozen. It is November so I understand that. Mashed potatoes could have used some more butter and milk. I recommend getting there very early when food is fresh and all items are available. I’ll try it again, sometime, early and revise review, if appropriate.

Excellent food and selection, huge portion sizes, all veggies are fresh not frozen or canned. Based on how good the food is I can tell the chefs are very caperable cooks.

Excellent home style cooking. Nothing fancy but great food. Friendly staff. Located in the Auditorium of the old Bluff Park school.

The food is really good but the location is absolutely horrible. I hope one day they get a place with parking and in a non rundown building.

Wow, that’s good food and plenty of it. Eat lunch in an elementary school lunchroom. Cafeteria style service with throw away dishes, cutlery and cups. I’ll go back!

Really great meat and veggie place. My fiancé and I are her for lunch and we only live about a block away! It was a great deal more convenient than Nicky’s West and the food was just as good. I got the Dijon encrusted boneless pork chops, green beans and fried okra. It was more than enough food for me so I shared with my guy. He eats a lot and probably could have eaten more but that’s not abnormal. Lol. There was a sweet lady that walked around asking if you need anything and talking to regular patrons. Seems like a sweet neighborhood spot with delicious heart warming food.

A new neighborhood favorite. The veal cutlet was excellent and all the sides were clearly made with love. The mac-n-cheese was the best I’ve had, possibly their signature dish. The turnip greens were fresh and perfectly simmered with pork. Mashed potatoes with brown gravy will get you through the worst of days. The self-serve pickled veggies was one of my favorite touches. The other local meat + 3 has definitely been put on notice for lunch.
