Here for the SEC Baseball Tournament(maybe for the last time) Overall the stadium is pretty nice but a little dated. Hoover has maintained it well but the concourse not being open and restroom facilities are not in line with more contemporary stadiums. Effort was made to improve the parking and traffic situation over previous years but there was still some room for improvement. However it was much better than some other municipal stadiums I have attended sporting events at. I hope the tournament remains here if only for selfish convenience reasons.

The Hoover Met has been the site of the SEC baseball tournament since 1998. I am biased because I live in Hoover, but I can’t image a better location for this annual event. Good weather(average temperture for May between 60 and 82), centrally located from the SEC schools, and a first class venue that was a AA minor league park. There is not a bad seat in the stadium, and the capacity(around 11,000) is ideal for this event. The field is beautiful, and the gounds keepers do a fantastic job of getting it ready for each game. The city of Hoover continues to invest in improvements to the park. Some recent changes have included new signage, a new sound system, and moving the bull pens to beyond the outfield walls. After the 2016 tournament is completed, the Met will be expanded to become a multi-purpose sports complex. The changes will include: an indoor facility, updates to the adjacent RV park, and improved parking and traffic flow. If you are a fan of college baseball, the SEC Tournament at the Hoover Met is the next best thing to the College World Series in Omaha.

This is a nice gem in Hoover Alabama. Since the Birmingham Barons moved out it doesn’t get used as much but it hosts the SEC baseball tournament. It has hosted the NCAA soccer championships. Hoover highschool’s football team has played here often. Plenty of parking. Good facilities. Wish they could secure more events like maybe concerts.

The name has changed… now Hoover Metropolitan Stadium… Regions is the name of the Barrons stadium on the Southside of Bham. I wish baseball would come back to Hoover… Love the location and the venue

One of the best ball parks in America to watch minor league baseball. Ticket prices are reasonable and they have a great area for kids to play. Very safe environment with on site parking. It’s a great family night out at the old ball game without the major league price tag!!!

Grab some peanuts and put on your ball caps, because it’s time to Play Ball! Who doesn’t love a good ball game? It’s spirited, it’s entertaining, it’s all American! I’ll even give you one better — I’ll take your love of sports an raise you one cheap night out — that’s right; you can enjoy the beauty of this all American pastime for the low low price of $ 7-$ 12. Seriously. Let’s talk logistics: Bring some cash because parking is $ 3, but for $ 10 I sat second row down the third baseline. Bring the kiddos, as Regions Park has made this place as kid friendly as possible. There is a «family fun park» on site with blow up jumpables, and a family seating section free from alcohol and crude language. For all you sailors out there without children, fret not because this event offers plenty of potential for you as well. Take your pick of cheap draft beer options, various food choices, and hot dogs, because let’s be honest, «a hot dog at the ballgame beats roast beef at the Ritz.» The best part of Birmingham is that entertainment doesn’t cost as much as a big city will charge you, so take advantage! As my first time at Regions Park, I found myself perplexed by why the stadium wasn’t packed full of rowdy Birmingham Barron fans — So where are you — after last night, I’m a fan!
