Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. They have an outdoor pool and a small mini golf thing. The breakfast was great and the coffee was amazing. The room was huge, came with a king sized bed, a living room, and a full sized kitchen. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area.

We were traveling with our twin toddlers and when I made the reservation, the girl said the pack n plays/portable cribs are on a first come first serve basis. The manager overheard her and said he would go buy 2 and reserve them for me. I was very impressed by this. When we arrived they were already set up in our room. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Hoover is a nice suburb and I wasn’t worried about anyone breaking into my car like I have read on reviews for hotels in other cities nearby. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The customer service is the main reason I will stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone whether you have kids or not.

Ok, so I’m totally a Marriott girl. I mean… I travel a lot for business and pleasure and typically I always prefer Marriott over Hilton. Last couple of times I’ve stayed in Birmingham I’ve stayed at the Embassy Suites. This time I opted for the Residence mainly because I wanted a full kitchen. I’ve stayed at a Residence before and its always been satisfactory. What I can say is that… the staff here seems quite pleasant. Everyone I came into contact with was very nice and helpful. HOWEVER, the configuration of this hotel is just nuts. If I want to get silverware out of the drawer in the kitchen… I have to open the oven door. ??? Yea, the drawer opens about an inch before it slams right into the oven. Poor engineering. Unfortunately the bathroom door is similar in that you have to step all the way in and to the side of the closet before you can close the door. The door opens in. If someone was on the toilet you’d smash their legs opening the door(not that you would want to do that but you get my drift). Some may call me picky but I mean sheesh. Who built this place? Also, I’m not a fan of the cable selection(cmon give me at least vh1 or hgtv), my comforter felt like a top sheet, I had a chair in my room that was so old and peeling that it shouldn’t even be in the hotel. at all. I still support Marriott but unfortunately I won’t be returning to this particular location.

I have mixed feelings about this review because overall my stay was quite lovely. The only true problem was the cleanliness of my room which can be a big deal. In this case it was not that big because the mess was located under and on the back of the sofa. I am sure that most people would not have even noticed but I grew up in hotel so I am used to looking under and behind things. I must say that management handled my complaint seriously and took action so that this would not happen again. I was most impressed by the manager named Jeff who I saw picking up trash one night outside the hotel. I will stay here again because of him.

Hotel is actually very nice. Rooms clean. Staff good except for the breakfast served. Items on breakfast bar not kept up and stocked. Constantly no coffee.

I do a fair amount of globe trotting, and with my travels… I’ve managed to shack up in a number of hotels, motels, resorts and hammocks. I had originally checked into the Marriott Courtyard… wish I could remember the location because I’d give it a 0.05 rating. Anyways… checked out of there after a night and found this place, thank God! It’s 20 miles from Birmingham’s airport, but it didn’t take more than 10 minutes to get to/from there. I’m sure the rates change all the time, but I paid something like $ 90.00/night which was incredible for the accommodations!!! I found the girls at the front desk to be highly entertaining and friendly. My suite was gorgeous… considerably more luxurious than I had expected. I had a full kitchen, full size fridge, awesome dining area, great view, the bathroom was enormous and my bed was so soft it swallowed me instantly. Each room is wired for internet access and wireless is provided as well. Directly across the street is a couple restaurants to choose from also which is convenient. I stayed here for 4 days and would definitely stay here again.
