Anyone who follows my reviews knows that I don’t care for Mexican restaurants because if you’ve had one you’ve had them all… however, this one was close to my hotel and nothing else in town looked like it was even open. I decided to just come here and I wasn’t disappointed. I even made a special order(vegetarian) and they happily obliged. My food was delicious and my waiter was attentive and friendly. I would defiantly come again.

Passing through on the interstate, my father and I decided to try this restaurant based upon Unilocal reviews. I should have been suspicious, as most of the positive reviews applaud alcohol sales, and do not mention the food. I should have been suspicious again when I walked in and noticed that not a single employee, at a Tex-Mex restaurant, was Hispanic. Ah, the name is Dos Loco Gringos, so there is no false advertising at least. But we decided to try it anyway. Big mistake. The food was about what you would expect from a couple of gringos trying to cook Mexican food without much love. Under-seasoned crap from a can, heated in a microwave. We both had a mixed enchilada plate. It didn’t taste good, but we were hungry, so we ate it anyway. Bigger mistake. If I had written a review that evening, I would have given the place two stars. Bad food, but close to the highway and friendly staff. But the next day my father and I both came down with a bad case of salmonella food poisoning. Dos Loco Gringos was the ONLY place where we dined together, so the source is undeniable. Need I say more? You couldn’t drag me back into that place, alive at least.

My mother, sister and I ate here on November 16th. The food was satisfactory for being microwaved food. The service was nice and the staff friendly. We would probably eat here again.
From central Texas, home of great Tex-Mex, and we think this rivals anything back home.

Food was amazing! The fajitas were good flautas amazing and very well priced. All food was fresh and the pico was fresh cut. Shredded chicken definitely the best!

We’ve just recently moved to Hope and have eaten here a few times. We ordered today, 3÷15÷15, and I am wondering if it is under new management. It’s always been fairly good, but everything was twice as nice this time. It may just be new employees, but everything was done so nicely. Thank you for great service!

Oasis in a dry county! Reading previous reviews, we headed over to Dos Locos apprehensive that we were in a dry county. However, we were greeted by the vivacious Secorie who assured us this was not the case. We enjoyed cold beers along with a tasty salad and a good Mucho Grande Burrito. Fast and friendly service! A good choice close to area hotels.

Wonderful service and food! First time ever leaving a restaurant review in my life, this place deserves it.

Took 25 minutes for someone to take our order. I counted 7 employees, including the manager, who noted we’d not been helped, but it was still another ten minutes before or waitress showed up to the table. Food took another 30 minutes to show up, and the place wasn’t busy. Just painfully slow and not even an apology. Bad.

Definitely more gringo than authentic Mexican. Chicken fajita was okay but beef too chewy to eat.

Had a great lunch here with my daughter. Hot chips and guacamole to start the meal, a little salsa and some quesadillas. Very nice lunch, just wished I could have ordered a margarita, but Hope is a no drinking in public town. Not legal to sell here.

I have this slight obsession that I want to be able to walk to a bar from my hotel and mingle with the locals when I’m vacationing. You know, like in movies. For whatever reason, I haven’t been able to do this yet. I sought my chance with Dos Loco since it was right across the street from my hotel. Ehh, close enough to a bar, I thought. But I learned something my first night in Hope. It’s in a dry county. Fun fact: More than half of the counties in Arkansas are dry. That meant no bars. No beer at the Walmart which was also kind of across the street from me. And no margaritas at Dos Loco. The waiter I asked about booze was very sweet, but I left the restaurant since I had dinner elsewhere and was just looking for a drink. Came back the second night for dinner with my family. Was not expecting anything special since us Texans are snobs when it comes to Mexican food. It’s true. However, I was pleasantly surprised. –Salsa was delicious. Spicy, but not overpowering, and good flavor. Better than many other restaurants I’ve been to. –Beef enchilada, beef fajitas and grilled chicken(from a salad) were ok. Tasty enough and up to par with any other place. –Rice was equally as delicious as the salsa. All the food was definitely more of a tex-mex quality than authentic, pero no problema! –I did not eat the beans. I hate beans. My sister ate some, although, I did not ask how she liked them. –Sopapillas were effing amazing. I’ve never had one so soft and fluffy before. They were served as huge puffed up circles and easily ripped apart for sharing. Absolutely recommend this restaurant if you’re [stuck] in Hope. ;p Aw, I’m teasing, Hope was aight –we cool.

Important to note that this is a dry county. Took a while to get that out of our server; was more of a guessing game. «What do you have on tap?» –nothing. «Oh. How about by the bottle?» –nothing. «Gee, I really feel like a beer.» –sorry, it’s a dry county. Could that not have been the answer to the first question? Fajitas were fine(for Interstate roadside Arkansas), if a bit salty. Regular customers and staff were friendly.

This place is open on Sunday, don’t even bother driving into Hope. Everything there is closed and this place is the best! Went on Mother’s Day as we were traveling back to Texas. Looked crowded but the inside is large and we were seated immediately. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Excellent chips and salsa. I had the baked potato stuffed with fajitas meat, grilled onions/peppers and smothered in queso. This is some if the best fajitas meat I have ever had. Moist, tender and it almost melted in your mouth. My boyfriend had the Sante Fe. He said is was very good. Comparable to Tex-Mex we can get back home. The sour cream sauce was also very good.(He is a chef, so that’s a pretty big compliment.) My daughter had the smothered burrito. She said the seasoning on the meat was good. She also liked the white queso. So glad everything else was closed and we got to «discover» this place.

We stopped here while passing through town on a road trip. The food was very good, as was the service! We’ll be sure and stop again when we’re passing through Hope again.
