One of the best pizzas I’ve had. I’ve been coming here regularly for the past couple of years. All the pizzas are excellent, but I especially recommend the spinach and cheese pizza with fig jam and bacon, Tartufo pizza(cheese, shiitake mushrooms, and a raw egg cracked on top) and margherita pizza. Both dessert pizzas are also amazing — the nutella pizza, and the almond and apple pizza(almond paste with apple slices). It’s cash only and BYOB, there’s a PNC atm down the street and a liquor store nearby.

OH. MY. GOD. Nomad pizza is not only my favorite pizza ever, it’s seriously one of the best foods that I’ve ever eaten in my life. I can’t even put my love into words… but I’ll try! Nomad pizza is located in the most adorable town near the NJ «countryside». Even just admiring the views and scenery driving there is stunning! You think you’re in the middle of no where and then out pops this adorable colonial-like town. I first tried Nomad Pizza from their pizza truck at a fair, and loved it so much I had to visit the restaurant. I really just went for the food, and was blown away when I saw how cute the outside patio was. AND there was a live band! So the food isn’t the only great thing about this place. I’m not the only one that loves Nomad; I’ve heard there’s usually a longish wait. But Nomad is BYOB and even when you’re waiting for a table, they’ll open your bottle so you can sit around the garden as you wait. Now on to the FOOD– we went with the Tartufo after noticing how many people ordered it on Unilocal. And we also got a basil pesto pie special they were offering that day. Even though both were amazing, the Tartufo was TODIEFOR… For real. It was hands down one of the best meals of me and my boyfriend’s life. And to top off the food and atmosphere, the service was great as well. Our server was fun and friendly! They also gave us complimentary homemade chocolate with our check ;) Nomad Pizza has made its way onto my list of top 3 places to eat. Even though it’s a far drive from Bergen county, there’s vineyards in the area. It’s totally worth making it a day trip! I can’t wait to go back! *p.s-cash only

I brought Stan to dinner here for his first time and we ordered the caesar salad, margherita pizza(i was vegetarian back then), and the nutella pizza to end with. The caesar salad was… interesting, to say the least. We certainly both did not like those anchovies, which the salad had absorbed the flavor of so the whole salad ended up tasting like anchovies. The margherita was excellent, however. Their pizzas are more on the thin side for crusts but nonetheless soft and crunchy in areas that need to be. The pizza wasn’t overly seasoned/sauced/cheesed either. The nutella pizza also tasted great — like a true dessert pizza. All in all, the place was also very hipster and gave off another local-farm fresh feeling to it. Will most likely be back considering good service, good food, and good décor. ~Amanda

The pizza is wonderful and sitting outside is the way to go since it is very loud inside. It is BYOB — but bring cash because they do not accept credit cards. And if you have to wait, check out TWINE next door for some funky unique gifts and cards.

Incredible BYOB pizza place that is absolutely worth the wait! Get the thin crust style and DEFINITELY get a salad — they are fresh and so tasty.

The food was really good(warranting 4 stars good), and the service was okay, but they don’t accept credit cards. And neither of us saw any signs saying so anywhere(we looked specifically on the way out). We were told at the end when we tried to pay. I sat there alone for 15 mins while my husband drove around looking for an ATM. That was annoying. I would have appreciated being notified up front. Nomad: I’d gladly pay a 5 dollar fee for being able to use a credit card(or debit-whatever). I don’t carry cash. If the fees or whatnot are bad, pass them on to me. I’d prefer paying an additional 5 dollars over sitting alone for 15 mins after dinner. Glad I didn’t have my antsy kids with me. That could have ended poorly.

Nomad is one of the best pizza places around! It’s in downtown Hopewell, which is quaint and pretty. The restaurant gets very crowded, especially on weekends, so they don’t take reservations. When I went with friends the waitress brought us glasses to enjoy our wine in the garden until our table was ready. The pizza is fantastic! It’s more Italian style than NY style– the crust is hearty, the ingredients are fresh, and the toppings balance the flavors well. We split three pies: a special corn pie(surprisingly good), spicy sausage(I can’t say enough about this one– I’m still dreaming about it), and the gorgonzola and pear. The desserts are delicious too! They serve ice cream from The Bent Spoon, a local shop which makes homemade ice cream using local ingredient. There’s also a nutella pizza that is eagerly awaiting the next time I visit. I can’t wait for the Princeton location to open down the road!

What a great hidden treasure!!! We’ve been coming every Tuesday. During Winter, they offer 2 for 1 pizza so we’ve been coming for the last 6 months every week. We’re regulars now. This place is a grand slam each and every time. It’s BYOB which we like too. No reservations taken. They have 2 tops, 4 tops and a community table. Great music too. The serving staff I cannot say enough good things about. They really HUSTLE… we’ve never had a bad experience. The food, fresh ingredents! The pies are on the small side. Depending on how hungry we are, we will split one pie, or we will order 2 and take some home for the next day. We always get the arugula salad, which comes in a vinigarette dressing with goat cheese and toasted wall nuts. Then we move to the pie. We always get a white Tartufo pie, and a sausage pepperoni pie. The sauce is spot on, and I can honestly say this is the best pizza dough and crust I have ever had. These guys are putting a lot of effort into sourcing their ingredients.. The check usually comes with dark chocolate. So save some red wine to go with that. It’s cash only so be prepared. There might be a wait, but they’ll open your wine and bring you a glass. There’s a place outside to sit if you have to wait for a table. Seating inside is great but when it’s warm out. they have a really great patio with outdoor seating under huge umbrellas with radiant heating should it get chilly outside. I’ll do just about anything for really good pizza, but this is a whole different level. We were hooked after our first visit.

The pizza was edible, but the dough is very thick, which made the pizza really chewy and not the way brick oven pizza should be. It tasted like naan with toppings. Not what I was looking for. The food was quite overpriced, especially for the quality, inauthenticity, simplicity, and problematic mixture of ingredients. The outside seating was very nice, though, and the weather was great. The server was very kind and capable. This location is BYOB.

Salads are pretty basic, but their pizza is absolutely impeccable. Taste of every single ingredient on each pizza is to be savored. Ice cream for dessert was from The Bent Spoon, and it tasted divine. Additionally, the ambience as you sit outside just makes you appreciate how lovely this small town is. One of my favorite top restaurants in New Jersey!

Stopped by here on the way home one day, over the summer, and picked up a pizza. Place is very nice, open and busy. Always good to see, as it’s a good sign about the food. Ordered a pizza, and waited… not too long after, food was ready, and we were on our way home. Pizza was good, nice crust, and toppings were also good. Staff was friendly, and the restaurant has some great indoor and outdoor space. Have to stop by and eat here one day.

This place is so beyond wonderful! Came here with friends, brought a bottle of Red and had such a great evening! We sat outside in early fall under the twinkling lights — the chairs/table weren’t the most comfortable, but the waitstaff didn’t rush us as we stayed and chatted over empty plates and our wine(we didn’t eat until around 8pm). The pizza is exactly what you expect, GREAT light/fluffy handmade crust with artisans toppings. We got 3 toppings; A Pear/Gorgonzola, a spicy sausage and spinach, and a Corn Pizza, which was awesome but very outside the box(a special of the week). The ambiance, the food, and the prices make this a favorite spot for a fun and relaxed evening! Absolutely coming back!

Just wanted to tell you that one time I tried to go to Nomad right before I left to spend a year in California attending culinary school. I left in early January, right after the holiday season, essentially giving my brother the longest ride home anyone has ever given to anyone, at least in the U.S. The point is, because of the date, when I tried to head to Nomad, it was closed for the holiday. I was sad and I cried many tears because I loved Nomad the very most and wanted to say goodbye. FASTFORWARD10MONTHS!!! I have nearly graduated from culinary school in Berkeley. I have discovered that not all California pizza sucks but MOST California pizza SUCKS. I have returned home for one week to visit old friends and see my family. And I went to Nomad. When I wrote my last review, the pizza Tartufo was just a rotating special. It’s now on their menu for always. Which is good because literally no other pizza is as special and utterly fantastic to me as the Tartufo. You can imagine my joy when I discovered the Tartufo on the menu and promptly ordered, waiting impatiently for the best pie I know of in existence so far. When it arrived it was like hugging an old friend, seriously. I couldn’t wait to take the first bite, I was SO. EXCITED. When I tasted the first, scrumptious bite of my favorite pizza from my favorite place that I missed so much… I began to cry. The pizza from Nomad is so good that it makes you cry. That’s how good it is. I cried in public, at a restaurant, over the beauty of the food offered, in front of other people, over a pizza. That’s why you should go to Nomad. So you can cry too.

Nomad is a great place to come with a couple friends if you’re looking for some artisanal, brick oven pizza. I have had pizza from their«pizza truck» at local events before but eating on-site seemed so much more fresh. I opted for the Spicy Sausage Pizza and had no regrets. The crust was perfectly cooked, not too crispy or fluffy and had just the right amount of those burn marks you find on the crust of brick oven pizza. Sausage had a mild spice kick to it, so I went for a little extra crushed red pepper to turn up the heat. The sauce was well seasoned and I could really tell it was freshly made. Cheese was nice and gooey and they didn’t use too much of it like they do at a lot of other pizza places. I’d have to give this pizza a 10/10, just wish there was more of it. The prices are a bit high but in this case, I believe you get what you pay for. This food is worth every penny! Service from Chelsea was wonderful. She was very friendly and eager to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely come here again, though it does tend to get pretty packed. In Summertime they have additional outside seating that takes away from some of the waiting you’d otherwise have to endure.

Best pizza I have ever had I ordered the arugula pizza and was astonished by the soft, chewy crust topped with the perfect amount of sauce and zesty cheese. The atmosphere was adorable as well with outdoor seating as well as indoors. We sat inside which was cool because we got to see how they make the pizza in the brick oven. Outdoor seating is adorable with cute lighting and a garden. The service was good too, but not that memorable to be honest. There is also plenty of parking, which is great since it’s located on a busy street. I wish I lived closer because I would go here everyday. Still dreaming of the day I can go back!

Nomad is absolutely one of Jersey’s top brick oven pizza spots. To those who say it’s overpriced and over-hyped, I simply shake my head. This establishments hits a home run in every department, ambiance: very cute inside, with a clear view of the food prep area, and the outside is just as wonderful with outdoor seating and a garden type area for you to sit and drink your beverage of choice while you wait for you’re table. Because, you definitely will wait, as they do not accept reservations. But when you’re sitting outside sipping on your wine or beer, who cares? Service: prompt, friendly, and professional. No one rushes you, but they do not disappear once your meal is delivered Food: the most critical aspect of our visit of course. A great variety of pizzas to choose from with very fresh ingredients. The dough was PERFECT, a little charred on the outside but nice and soft on the inside(but not mushy). Seriously couldn’t get enough. The pizzas are a fair size for their price and truly excellent with every bite. I didn’t sample any salads or apps, bc I just wanted to get down to business and so glad I did. Overall: Some of the top pizza I’ve ever had. I will absolutely be back and can’t wait to sample the Nutella pizza for dessert. Unless you’re from another planet(perhaps one that serves Pizza Hut) you will not be let down by Nomad.

Hands down some of the best pizza I have ever had, and if that isn’t fabulous enough, they were some of the nicest people ever too. The hubby and I went wine tasting in the nearby wineries and FINALLY headed to Nomad after hearing tons of people recommend it. We must’ve picked the perfect time on a Sunday to get here because there was no wait AND outside seating on the first gorgeous warm day of Spring. We brought our wine from Unionville nearby and was as soon as we were sat, we had wine glasses, water, and our bottled uncorked. The menu is not very extensive, but there are a few fancy pizzas with procuitto, pears and plain old pepperoni, which is what we ended up with. Our pizza arrived REALLY fast, maybe within 10 minutes or so and was topped with these giant slices of meat and slightly burned edges. As we cut out slices and enjoyed the gorgeous view of the main street area, the line started piling up by the host table. We ordered one pizza and it was enough for both of us, but then slightly regretted not having the second one just to go. As we went to pay with our credit card we were made away that it was cash only. Suddenly the server said the MOSTRIDICULOUS thing, «There is a bank 3 blocks down, you guys can go get cash and then just come back and pay.» What!!! I guess they know that the joke would be on us if we ran out on our $ 15 pizza bill and were forever deprived of Nomad the rest of our days. Nevertheless, as a city girl, I was very touched by the gesture. I will certainly be returning to Nomad, with friends and many more bottles of wine.
