I would like to be able to provide more information about this location but frankly I spent over 15 minutes in the store and never once was greeted or asked if I needed any help. Being a male, standing around in a fabric store, looking lost — none of that mattered. There was no one there to offer help, so I left without making a purchase. Considering that there was a sale in progress you would think they would staff up to support the increased traffic.

We cam down looking for several items to flesh out some cloths and costumes for Halloween in the end we walked out empty handed and headed else where. Yes the price and selection seamed OK it did not hit what we were looking for.

Both the Hopkins store and Southtown store have always gone above and beyond in customer service. Also, as an all around designer, I find they have the better, more consistent deals on everything in the store, with 40% off coupons for members; all you have to do is sign up. To demonstrate how dedicated the stores can be to their customers, presently, the Hopkins store is coordinating with other locations to try to find bulk ribbon in a particular color and have it transferred to their store, just for me to utilize fabric that I’ve wanted in a project I’ve waited a year to complete. They were the only ones who had the color of ribbon that I needed. So, understanding my plight, the stores managers jumped into action. Needless to say, it will be a happy ending. I will always shop here :)!!!

I find myself at Joann’s more often than I like, but that’s because they’re EVERYWHERE. However, I have always liked Hancock much more since they’re focused on the sewer. Despite having a smaller selection, the fabric quality is better than Joann’s. Their clearance racks are not too shabby either; while there are some hideous fabrics you can still find some gems. I feel I can actually wear something I’ve made with their fabric. The stretch poplins are pretty nice and they carry the full range of Kwik-Sew patterns. I’m a little in awe of these, since the company started in Minneapolis and the paper the patterns are printed on are sturdier than your normal pattern paper.
