I went to the restaurant and we were greeted warmly and immediately seated. Good sign. Things went down hill from there. The service was very slow. We ordered a burger medium and it was well done. We asked for hot sauce and we had to ask twice because the waitress forgot about us. The bison and salmon burgers were good but I would never return. Service was poor and the place wasn’t crowded. I didn’t feel that they valued their customers. My daughter loves bison burgers so we were really excited to try the restaurant. The service was so bad! Water glasses weren’t refilled without an effort and it took a long time for the food to arrive.

I’m still sitting at Bison Burger with my son on a Saturday night at 8 pm. When we arrived the place had just 3 – 4 tables and it took over 10 minutes for the one waitress to come by. We ordered — just bison burgers — and waited. They arrived. One cooked as requested, with maybe 10 burnt fries for which we were charged $ 1.95. The other burger was significantly over-cooked but still tasty. Burnt sweet potato fries, also $ 1.95 extra. Empty ketchup bottle. Waitress never came by to ask how our food was, dropped the check off without saying anything too. Our town needs a good burger place but really, it’s just NOT worth it. Never again.

Good place to eat, could be much better. Honest review here with the intention of having them be successful. Arrange those plates better. Better produce. Better bread. Charge an extra buck if you have to. The burgers are good. Would go again. I know space is limited but make a waiting area. Add more cool theme items to the walls.

Bison burger was ok, but over cooked. Asked for med rare, not a hint of pink anywhere to be found. I even asked when I ordered, «can you make medium rare?». Over priced as well. One Bison burger with a small amount of fries and a Coke was $ 19! A price I’m willing to pay if it was great.

Had a American Bison Burger. Very good. Perfectly cooked. Quiet place in the afternoon. Very nice server.

I dont know how this place was able to open a second location. Bring«maria’s» back… Or anything else to the Milford location. I tried the Hopkinton spot twice. The first time took forever to get our order. The burgers were so greasy, you forget your eating lean bison meat. I gave them another shot and called ahead the second time. They order was ready in 45 minutes but items were missing and we had to wait like 30 minutes for the rest. The food is overpriced and underperforms. Avoid the«bison balls»… $ 8 – 9 for 4 greasy nasty small fried bison meat balls. Never again! If you want real quality bison meat… Go to teds Montana grill in westboro!

Just bad. There is nothing worthwhile at this place. Reminds me of the school lunch room. The place lacks personality & you leave wondering why did I come here.

Second visit to local burger joint and was thoroughly pleased with the delicious Tailgate bison burger, Guinness, cannoli, and genuine, personable hostess, Michelle.

I ate at the one in Milford(also in Franklin when it was open) and I have not been very impressed. I recently had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. The fries seemed like a frozen variety but were OK. The sandwich was quite good. But the sandwich at lunch time was $ 10 and it comes with nothing besides a plate. $ 2 more for fries of any kind and they give you maybe 12 fries. I can go to other places at lunch and get pulled pork for $ 9WITH fries and they are better. Service in Milford was good so can’t knock the waitress. I just won’t be back as it is an expensive lunch for mediocre food.

Can i go less than 1 star? This was beyond bad. My friend and went on a whim because it was new. The first thing we saw was the wait staff and cooks getting drunk in the parking lot and throwing the bottles into a side street and tunning back to the building. We say down and waited ten minutes for the waitress then she showed up hammered like a 16 year old on prom night and barely could walk. The food was ridiculously expensive for how bad it was the potatoes were instant potatoes and not even a decent kind, the gravy was the same just add water garbage i can get at any grocery store. The steak i’m not sure was even beef was abhorrent… yes i said abhorrent it was that bad. This was so bad we hot up and went to burger king to get the taste out of our mouths. A quarter of a star at most

Milford location: It seems to have appeared overnight. Formerly«Maria’s»(a place I was never able to try because they didn’t open till 4) it looks as if they posted up their signs over the old ones — hung a stuffed bison head above the front desk — and brought in menus from a location they own in Hopkinton. Regardless of the haste or lack of remodel — I’ll take a new place to knosh near my work any day — especially one that boasts«comfort food» If this used to be an Italian joint — it wasn’t a very pretty one. This«American Pub» concept will fit better(once they remove the flowery pendant lighting and floral print high-top chairs in the bar area) with booth seating, a mix of dark and light woods a good size bar and a few TVs on the walls. Young staff again and again explaining to people calling in «no we aren’t Maria’s anymore.» And«we are more of a burger place, but we do have chicken Parmesan on the menu». I can only guess this was a great opportunity that the owner seized and is using this transition as a soft opening. I sat at the bar and looked over the menu. Decent amount of items — burger options of beef, bison and chicken, 9 generic beers on tap, and everything from fried pickles to baked haddock to choose from. Initially I wanted to test out the jambalaya — which they said could be prepared without shrimp(score) — but upon further investigation found that jambalaya wasn’t ready for release yet. So I went with the steak tips — medium — with BBQ sauce and fries instead of rice. I had ordered the tips without onions and mushrooms but they came«pre mixed» on the steak. Normally this would turn me off but the tips were actually very tasty. Good flavor from the BBQ sauce, and they were cooked well. The fries were just ok. During the meal someone came in and started measuring windows and walls — so it looks like they will be renovating at some point. Looking forward to seeing what this place becomes — would be great to have another alternative when I’m in the office.

We tried Bison Burger for the first time when I had a serious hankering for a good burger. Pros: excellent, friendly service, family-friendly atmosphere, and I’d give the burger a 7⁄10. Cons: they seemed a little under staffed, the wait was a a little longer than we would have preferred, and they were a little stingy on the ice and French fries. Prices were high as well. Overall, not a place we will throw into the regular rotation, but it’s a good local spot when you need a hearty dose of red meat.

Nope. The best part of the whole meal? The fries, and even those weren’t spectacular. I thought this was a burger joint, but it’s a sit-down type restaurant. Ok, it can’t be that bad. Well, we waited a half an hour for our drinks before we could even order. The burgers are bland and take forever, so don’t go hungry. I should have known the burgers were overcooked before they even came out. There were ten other people in the restaurant and it took them forty minutes to grill a medium rare burger. To top off a ridiculous wait and food that I didn’t enjoy eating, it’s expensive. I left annoyed with severe buyers remorse from spending over $ 15 dollars for a seriously sub-par burger. Don’t even waste your time. This place is a joke.

Went to the new Milford location. Food was ok but VERY expensive. Three of us ordered burgers and drinks only and the bill was up near $ 50. The food was marginal to good. The bison burgers taste EXACTLY like a regular beef burger so their definitely not worth the extra cost. The fries were a bit overcooked as well.

Great food … nice little bar with everything you might want. I got the beef burger(not a big fan of bison) and it was great! Just like the burgers my dad would make when I was a kid. The fries were«real» and the salad fresh and not useless iceberg type. Found out about this place from an ad in my gym, now I know why they posted it there. It’s a great place to get a burger and make it healthy … great find!

Went after work for dinner after wanting to try this place for a long time. Not this best experience. The place is awkwardly small. I was the only one there for dinner so it felt like the numerous staff were just watching me the whole time. I ordered a plain cheeseburger and fries(they oddly charge an extra $ 1.99 for fries). It was very dry and left a bad taste in my mouth after I left. The service was fast but I was the only one in there so that wasn’t a positive thing. Go somewhere else if you want dinner in the area.

It was horrid. We all ordered med-rare bison burgers, mine was well done, and everyone else’s were either way overcooked or way undercooked. I got some veggies with my meal, they tasted sour and off. It is not a pub, trust me it really isn’t. Disgusting food and ok service, don’t go there they don’t deserve your money.

Dropped in after work to grab a beer, but this not a pub, nor a restaurant. It is an uncomfortable and sterile dining facility or «mess hall». I suggest you don’t waste your time or money on this place, it’s definitely not something I would care to experience again.

While visiting friends in Hopkinton last week, we came by for a late lunch on Saturday. Chips & salsa were fresh, margaritas were good. Jalapeño poppers were good. We had The Poncho bison burgers without bacon, with fries… good stuff. Large portion so was quite stuffed the rest of the day. Service was friendly but kinda on the slow side. Reasonable prices.
