Stopped in for lunch today. What a cute place! Service was great and the food was excellent. I had a savory crêpe for lunch and took a few pieces of quiche with me for dinner tonight! I also bought a «Lucille» juice which was sweet and refreshing. Will definitely be back!

Simply perfect. Loved stopping in for morning cappuccino and a tasty breakfast — hard to decide between the egg tartlets, quiche, steel cut oat bowls and chia puddings! Everything was made to order and used fresh ingredients. I had to take some cookies to go for later too…

Great staff and great iced lattes! I mean great, like you keep coming back great. I visit them about 8 – 12 times a week. The staff is friendly, and they seem to enjoy being there, which makes my experience even better. Its not a fast paced coffee shop, they make is food like it is art… edible art. Everything they sell is handmade, and delicious. If you have not been, your missing out!

These hours are weird. Closed until 11am on a Sunday? For a coffee shop? Um… I like my coffee in the morning, thanks.

Great place. Atmosphere’s good, pastries and crepes are good, drinks are good, service is good. I live in Hopkinton and it’s awesome to have a place like this in town.

Delicious iced coffee and oatmeal cookie sandwich with peanut butter filling! The staff was super courteous and willing to wait on me even though I showed up exactly 2 minutes before closing. Great all around for me!

Amazing weekend Belgiun waffles! Light and delish — no syrup or post-waffle bloat nap required. Perfect with their caramel latte. Definitely worth a stop before visiting Country Plus, Swoon, or the Farmer’s Market. Enjoy!

I’ve been here twice and thought it was time to chime in. I’ve read some other reviews moaning about the hours but they work for me so there’s that. The décor is awesome, the vibe is casual yet cool, the staff is personable and the coffee is great. Be adventurous and get the Greek frappé. I haven’t tried the baked goods or waffles yet but they look amazing. Maybe next time around. Support your local businesses and shop small!

Bittersweet Co. feels very open and well-designed. Located in a historic building, the space is clean, modern, inviting, and cute. Their coffee and chai is great, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. My wife and I are turning into frequent visitors. A few reviewers have complained about the hours, but they seem pretty reasonable now. The owner has created something lovely and unique to the area, and appears to be taking feedback into consideration, which is awesome. I have high hopes for this place. PS. Check out their instagram– their photos are gorgeous!

I tried not to give this place a bad review — I reached out to the owner and unfortunately she is young and inexperienced. She does not understand or care that she is loosing business on a daily basis. I have tried to go 3 times and of those 3 times she has been opened once. Starbucks ended up getting my money. Why does she need to close Monday? With such limited hours during the day surely she can get things done… but my biggest complaint is that she was closed during April vacation(she apparently needed a rest). I was told I should check the website for hours — no thanks I think I will frequent the places that have more realistic /consistent hours. I would love to support local business because she truly does put out a great product but without the business acumen she will fail.

Big fans of independent coffee shops — first time here was this afternoon! Love the décor, staff was friendly and our lattes were made quickly and tasted good. Baked goods looked tasty & based on previous reviews would definitely try something. People mentioned the hours, and I can appreciate that but it didn’t effect our visit at all. Will definitely stop in again!

Open since August 2014, we finally made our way to Hopkinton to check out Bittersweet. What a great find! Excellent sweet baked goodies and a nice coffee, latte, hot chocolate selection makes Bittersweet our new favorite local spot. Friendly staff, book swap table, and a Kinfolk magazine esthetic make this a much needed breath of fresh air in the Boston outer ‘burbs. Just wish they had quiche on the weekend and not just M-F.

Great décor. Clean as a whistle. Coffee made to order. Warm friendly smiles. All bakery items are wonderful. Gelato is tasty. I wish hours were longer but she will figure it out. Seats are limited by the town. Great addition to Hopkinton.

A nice independent coffee shop in a historic building, right near other shops and restaurants downtown. Clean and inviting. All coffees seem made to order, either espresso or French press. A small selection of very nice pastries that taste as good as they look are offered. And they’re the right size for a snack with coffee. I’ve been here twice, on weekend afternoons. If they were to offer some lunch options I’d have tried those too.

Bittersweet offered pie to go for thanksgiving and cheesecake for Christmas. Bought a $ 15 cheesecake for Xmas gathering and it was delicious and worth every penny. Highly recommended to save time and please a crowd. Will definitely repeat next holiday.

So delicious. Came with my family and my kids had a waffle with fruit, and we also shared a pumpkin scone, sticky bun and a slice of apple cake. All super and the caramel latte was great too. And the place is beautiful.

It is a good concept and would be a great addition to town BUT the hours are NOT conducive to a coffee, pastry and gelato shop. 9:00 am — 4:00 pm… They are missing the morning rush And are losing after work/dinner crowds. Coffee and homemade pastry would be ideal to get prior to work during the week. Gelato and pastries would be a nice way to finish off dinner. And on Sundays, they would pick up a lot of morning business if they would open prior to 11:00 am. I don’t mind paying higher prices for the handmade, quality pastries but the coffee drinks are very inconsistent.

I’ve been here 3 times since it opened with my 2 year old, trying something different each time. Every visit they are consistently friendly and yummy. I especially loved the turbinado sugar cookies and the Saturday morning sticky rolls. It is also a beautiful space, bright and happy. We’re definitely happy to have a place like this in town.

I was delighted to hear that this café was coming to Hopkinton. Hopkinton needs a Panera-like space where business persons can meet, greet, and enjoy a bite to eat. There’s only one other true café in the center of Hopkinton — Hopkinton Gourmet — and it’s very small. Though Hopkinton Gourmet offers a terrific selection of pastries and breakfast sandwiches, it does not offer free WiFi.(The owner does not want people congregating there to do work; it’s just too small a space for it.) On the south end of town, there’s Water Fresh Farm, which has a café within it. I’m not sure if Water Fresh Farm offers free WiFi. On the west end of town, there’s Red Barn café, which also is small and only offers pastries and coffee, but I think they also offer free WiFi. As for Bittersweet, it DOES offer a larger space and free WiFi. .. but only if the employees can find the sticky note that shows the 21-digit passcode for their network. Pros of Bittersweet: Coffee. Ice cream. Pastries. Offers free WiFi. Beautiful natural light emanates throughout the space. Has tables that are large enough for business meetings or for someone to spread out and do some work on a laptop. Gorgeous hip décor. Clean. Cons of Bittersweet: One side of the space has tables. The other side has nothing. It’s weird. They don’t post any signage offering free WiFi(with the network name and password). They don’t offer a «bottomless cup» of java. They have nothing but pastries and ice cream, so they don’t make it easy to sit there all day and do work(unless you wanna eat pastries and ice cream all day). Bottom line: I’m hopeful. It’s a new business, which means that it’s going through growing pains, and it simply cannot offer everything it aims to offer immediately. I applaud them for taking on such a large rent in a space that has seen too many businesses fail, one after the other. Maybe with some cash flow, they’ll improve/increase their menu options and also tap into the business culture that might enjoy frequenting their space not just for breakfast but for lunch, too. Even if they just teamed up with their neighbor, the pizza joint, to offer some slices at lunch time, they’d be offering some sort of lunch. Everyone likes pizza, right?
