Came in late afternoon on a Wednesday, picked up some beef Jerky for cheap! Very tasty! Must go back to purchase the Mango Habanero brats and jerky!

I LOVETHISPLACE! In my opinion they have the best meats and selection in Dodge County. They always have fresh meat products along with different sausages, snack sticks, cheese and BACON! They usually have quite a few weekly specials and they always have numerous types of specialty brats on hand. They also serve lunch specials daily. It’s usually nothing fancy, but it is always good and will give you that home cooked, full belly felling. If you are in Horicon you definitely need to stop in!

What a nice butcher shop in Horicon! I stopped by on a Saturday to pick up a chicken for a special dinner, but after seeing the burgers and brats I decided to get a few more items. I walked around the store and stood at the case and didn’t realize the employees were calling numbers until a sweet elderly lady let me know, then I grabbed a number and waited a few minutes until mine was announced. The special burger that day was a brisket burger, featuring local ground beef and cooked brisket mashed together into a 6oz patty for $ 2.25, as I right this now my stomach is growling thinking about that burger. The butcher shop was packed when I was there and they only had one register open, but things moved quickly. I would highly recommend this butcher shop to anyone, and I will keep coming back supporting them.

An amazing butcher’s shop that I heard about from a friend. They have, hands-down, the best summer sausage. It’s even won some awards. My friend raves about their pork chops, which I did not get to try. I did grab some different flavored brats, of which the Bloody Mary flavor has been my favorite. They have many meats to choose from, and I am already planning my next trip back there.

We were given a coupon for this place from the Playful Goose when we checked in. The store is small but packed with goodies. The meat case has cuts of chicken, beef and pork. The featured products are their bratwurst. There are about 45 different kinds. My favorite is the Badgerland brat, which has cheese in it. They have a small parking lot but have additional parking in the adjacent lot and on the street. I mention this because the place is busy with a steady stream of cars in and out. Most of the bratwurst run about $ 3.99 a pound. I would spend that for the quality of the product they sell.

Oct 2012: They close at 1 on Sundays so don’t delay. I saw two people running into the store very close to 1. Lots of selection. Many different types of brats. This is my first time there and I have to try the food before I can say more. Nothing fancy, Just meat and a few other items like spices and rubs and buns etc. The check out person could have been more pleasant. No hello, no smile, and not thanks, come again. This needs to improve. summer sausage was very good. Andouille sausage was not strong nor spicy enough. Sort of wisconsinized andouille I guess. Oct 2014: They have good meat and good prices but the attitude in this place is what is telling me to shop elsewhere. There is a sausage shop near Madison that is unpleasant too. But one in Oregon is super nice. They always have time to talk with me about what is available today and even ask me how I am doing. It isn’t hard to do. Not Leroy Meats. Oh no. They are strictly business and ornery business at that. I walk in and no one says hi nor greets me. When they are ready to talk, the first thing they say is, «what do you want?» I should have said, «a friendly hello would be a nice start.» But I always think about those things later. So I tell them what I want and after they set it up for me they ask, «is there anything else?» with this continued attitude of hurry up and order because you are wasting my time. I grab my stuff and go to the check out. The lady there showed a little less attitude but no smile, no «hello, how are you today» like I get at my grocer every time I shop there. Nope. Just business here. No thank you. Just a «that will be 50.99». I went home with my meat and my disappointment. I think this will be the last time I shop at Leroy’s Meats. If they learn some good manners let me know. Until them I am sure I can find another butcher.

Excellent butcher shop. An abundance of staff and friendly workers who will answer all questions and make suggestions if you ask for advice. A large variety of specialty brats offered, but our favorites are still the regular brats minus cheese, jalapenos, garlic, onions, kraut, or any other add-ins. We might serve those add-ins as side dishes, but love the excellent flavor of plain brats from Leroy Meats. Also LOVE their bacon wrapped filets, St. Louis style pork ribs, stuffed pork chops, mild jerky, beef sticks, and selection of local WI cheeses. A drive from Milwaukee is just under an hour, but worth every $ spent on gas to get this great meat. I understand that their beef comes from Nebraska and the pork from Iowa… but maybe that isn’t totally accurate. I know they only sell a high grade of meat(per USDA) and you won’t find any ‘pink slime’ here.

Hands down the best brats in Wisconsin! Hormone free, local meat. It actually has a taste! They change the selection every week so you don’t get bored. Mushroom and Swiss is my favorite brat. They make a Philly cheese brat and a packer brat with cheddar cheese green peppers and sauerkraut they also make onion and garlic brat that my mom loves. I will drive out of my way to stop here. My last visit I had the Chicken Breast stuffed with cheesy hash browns. It was as good as it sounded. Note that they keep bankers hours 8a-5p. Not sure about the weekend.

Do you like bratwurst? If so, you have to stop and get your brats from Leroy’s. I drive from McHenry, IL to buy brats from this place. That is roughly a 3 ½ hour drive, each way! They are amazing. Plus, they have a list about about 25 to 30 different mixtures of flavored brats. Jalapeño Cheddar brats have to be my favorite. I am hoping they will make a Jalapeño Cheddar Bacon brat soon. Buy your brats from Leroy’s. They are the best in the world.
