Super creepy. It is not even close to the quality of other wax museums and it is in a dark, rundown building. If you like haunted houses, this may be your style, otherwise avoid at all costs.

save your $ 12. they are wax figures. the building isn’t being kept up. it isn’t very exciting. the gambling museum is alright. they act like you get perks at other places for going to the wax museum, but that’s not true. she told us we’dget a free wine tasting at some wineries… but they give everyone free tastings so…

Great fun! And they even had a scary section that showed some torture things. There was political figures, biblical figures, folklore figures, and other great historical figures. In the museum it was combined with the gangster museum. That part was okay but you would have to read a lot of newspaper articles on the wall to truly understand the importance of what happened.

Worst wax museum I have been to. $ 11 to get in. The figures are very bad quality and positioned very awkwardly. Also, it is super small. We went through it in about 15 minutes. That is almost a dollar a minute! I was trying to be very positive on my Vacay spots here but dude… The only positive thing I have to say about this was it got us out of the rain.

Normally, I like kitschy attractions. This would definitely apply as a kitschy attraction, but unfortunately it didn’t appeal to our group. The pitch that it’s two museums in one rang hollow. At the end, one of our party asked if we had missed the second museum.
The attraction for us was to see the Southern Club building and it’s history, but that was very limited. It’s a real shame the building could not have been kept intact and furnished to show the heyday of Hot Springs gambling.

This was not a great experience. You can not touch or take picture with the wax mannequins. Only take pictures of through a glass. It was pretty janky to me and my family. And was not worth $ 35 for a couple and child.

I came to Arkansas to experience the «Southern hospitality» and culture… instead, my family experienced rude attendants and a wack, smelly attraction… I wouldn’t come back here if it was free or if you paid me the $ 10 fee!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PATRONIZE OTHER FRIENDLY LOCAL SPOTS!

First of all, I recommend that this place rename itself a «haunted» wax museum. Let’s face it, looking at wax figurines is pretty creepy in and of itself, and the underlit nature of the museum plus the fact that we were probably the only two people in there at the time really added to the scary ambiance. In short, I loved it, and definitely go, but you should know that this place can be characterized the same way I generally think of anything in Hot Springs: looks better on paper than in real life, especially if you have been somewhere like Madame Tussaud’s in Times Square. The wax museum is housed not in an «old hotel» like other reviewers have mentioned, but rather in the former quarters of the infamous Southern Club, which used to be the largest casino back in Hot Springs’ lawless days. According to the attendant, the people who purchased the building in the 1970s after gambling was outlawed made some renovations that affected a few of the building’s more historically valuable points of interest, such as the entrance to Al Capone’s secret escape tunnel located inside a (still used!) men’s bathroom. After that, ownership changed hands at some point (s) and it appears that the renovations were only somewhat completed. For example, the lobby/​gift shop have been redone, but the rest of the building (particularly the upstairs with its cavernously high ceilings) just looks like someone erected small exhibits amidst peeling wallpaper, water damage and this charming (and possibly original?) gold crown molding with a fruit design. The exhibits are quite a bit shorter than the ceiling, and the walkway upstairs is mostly uncovered so you can look up. At one point (can’t remember exactly where) my boyfriend was looking at an exhibit and I happened to glance up– above his head, perched on a few slats of wood, was an old stand alone bathtub similar to those found in the bathhouses! I don’t know why this tickled me so, but I thought it was hilarious especially because it wasn’t surrounded by a bathroom or anything else, just the tub up there hanging out on a few pieces of wood. PLEASE don’t remove it. I think it added to the charm. In fact, I felt that way about the unfinished nature of the whole place. Not only did I get to see some wax figures, but I also got to take a look into the past of the building both via the remnants of its former grandeur and the small museum exhibits of the building’s history that were scattered throughout. If you’re going to Hot Springs, check this place out.

Great old former hotel. Cool and weird. loved the horror part of the wax museum. loved learning about the gangsters who ran the place back in the day. Ask about the secret tunnel!

After hearing this was haunted I wanted to check out the place! Let me tell you, the ‘creep’, factor is in full effect. We listened to a few ghost stories then set off upstairs… back up… my 11 yr old wouldn’t go past the top of the stairs. So, that left me all alone. it was dark, and I was the only one taking the tour… I chickened out. I’ll be back though! I will try again next time we go in a few months. So, do some research and Go! The staff was wonderful. The place does have a different feel.

So for the size that it is, $ 10 each is kind of high… some of the sculptures were not great and I noticed some of the outfits had holes in them. So. it needs updated but it was still fun to walk through.
People commented saying you can take pictures with the sculptures. This is false, they are now all blocked by glass except for the very ragged Alice in wonderland scenes and the Cinderella scenes.

At $ 10/​adult & $ 7/​child it’s kind of high to see wax figures that you can’t get close to for pictures. Also, some do not look exactly like who they are. However, we were offered free wine tastings at a place down the road but didn’t make it.

I only browsed the gift shop. and didn’t actually go through the museum.

I give this museum five stars because I think it’s a fun place to go to. With that said, let me immediately state that the building is currently in bad condition. Many of the wax figures need repairs and are outdated. Now I will commence my totally awesome review.
The establishment is housed in some sort of old hotel. It’s fun going around all the twists and turns, not knowing what looms at each corner. Wax figures of The Kennedys, MLK Jr, The Clintons, and a horror section are contained in this massive museum. Towards the end you go downstairs to a special children’s area designed to look like munchkinland. Again, many things down here don’t work, but what does work is a treat. You can observe Alice seated at a tea party and the seven dwarves hard at work.
It is very inexpensive, and your ticket often doubles as entrance into the local winery down the street. Don’t be afraid to ask the persons manning the front desk any questions you have about the history of the building. They are more than happy to answer your questions.

Ok, I dont really think this is a GREAT place, but you should prolly go here a least once. It is kinda pricey. I will prolly get in trouble for this but here goes. the staff does not really monitor the exhibits very well, therefore some of the statues look «dilapidated». But it does give way to a fun oportunity. i have gone into the museum and gotten behind a rope stood frozen till the next group goes through like a wax figure. Then scare them. I have scared the SH@T out of some folks. Do not do this unless you are a trained professional. I happen to be a trained Biologist-​which is a profession so it gives me that right. it probably was the wrong thing to do-​but eh, i was bored…
