It was my husband’s birthday and being from out of town, we headed to Ambrosia based on a recommendation from locals. We ordered a Variety of desserts including a German chocolate cupcake, chocolate milkshake cupcake, chocolate chip cheesecake cupcake, apricot and raspberry rugulahs(based on another Unilocal review), snicker doodles, butterscotch pecan bar, and Italian cake. The Italian cake which is their specialty was absolutely delicious! Very moist with excellent frosting. We would absolutely order this again. The butterscotch pecan bar was also very good, not as sweet as I expected, but quite good. The rest we probably would not order again. The cookies and rugulah are too bready for our taste, and the cupcakes were just okay.

After a friend’s wedding, I knew this is where I’d buy my wedding cake from! I knew I wanted white cake but they let you try all the flavors anyway! They have so many fillings you can choose from but they weren’t included on the tasting tray. I asked about lemon and raspberry and they actually went and whipped them up to taste! They were out of this world! I chose a white cake with white icing and lemon filling. It was the most deliciously perfect cake of all time! They are closed on Sunday which worried me because I was fearful of picking up my cake on Saturday then being responsbile for it for an entire day. For a small fee, they delivered the cake even though they were closed! I can’t wait to eat the top layer on our first anniversary!

Wow… Cookies galore! A must try are the Rugelach cookies. They have both Apricot, and Raspberry Rugelachs, and both are delicious. I’ve never seen them before, but I’m hooked now. What’s a Rugelach, you ask? It’s a small twisted pastry with Jewish origins. And these guys make absolutely incredible ones. I bought a dozen, and ate one of each flavor. I turned my back, and Julie ate the other 10! Gonna have to go back and get more.
