Best chicken fajitas in town! The chicken is top notch and well done. You get a ton of food! The pico, guacamole, cheese, etc, on the side are all top quality. The meal includes sopapillas for dessert which were fun to enjoy. Their salsas and dip are delicious as well(especially the green dip). The staff is friendly and helpful. I through my enjoyed it here and can’t wait to go back!

Not the place to go if you want good food. Service was fast but food not so good. Their salsa tastes like it came from a can or jar. Go some where else!!!

It won’t let me give it zero stars… I come here and have a beer occasionally while I wait on my wife nearby I’m from Southern California so I understand real Mexican food. This place is owned by somebody who understands the word nepotism, there are so many employees here doing nothing. Let’s start with the giant elephant in the room… the«taco shells» they are store-bought preformed Made somewhere else probably bought at Walmart, and the fact that there are repeat customers after they see this makes the top of my head blow off!!! The cucumber salsa is one of the most disgusting things I have ever tasted! everything about this restaurant is a giant shortcut for folks that have never had the wonderful experience of eating real Mexican food or even a real Tex-Mex. This restaurants greatest fear would be if their customers went to some real Mexican food places, they would then realize Jose’s food is garbage at best, their food is a slap in the face, and with every plate they serve they are saying«ha ha you don’t know any better» I don’t know what happened here and a lot of Mexican places I’ve been to in Arkansas, but I believe they gave up putting in all the work and wonderful seasoning and love into their meals many years ago when their patrons asked them to dump liquid white or orange cheese on their meal and drown it, then drowned it in sour cream. I believe all that is done to the meat in this restaurant is, its boiled and salted then drowned in things that are not supposed to be on Mexican food, and they call that Tex-Mex here… sorry that’s not Tex-Mex…pretty sure you can go in the back and that’s what they’re doing… and if boiled salted meat drowned in canned nacho cheese is what you want… this is your place.

Spontaneous lunch stop turned out to be a lucky break. In addition to the usual chips and salsa upon being seating, we were also brought a salsa verde for dipping and they were all tasty. My soft tacos were good but not exceptional and the rice and beans were passable. Hubbie was a huge fan of the chile relleno and other items on his combo platter. He also let me sample his watermelon margarita and it was exceptional! If we hadn’t had to be somewhere else that afternoon, I could have consumed several. Prices were reasonable and service was decent. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Great food! Awesome prices! Fun atmosphere. Great service– and lunch was such a steal! Most lunch plates are under 8.99 and are the perfect amount! The salsa was super authentic– thanks!

I was in the Hot Springs area during the Christmas holidays to spend time with my wife’s mother. After all the Christmas goodies, it was time to get my TexMex fix. My wife and mother-in-law left to head out shopping and I was left on my own. Jose’s fit the bill for my TexMex fix. The restaurant offers a nice selection of lunch specials. I decided to order the cheese chili rellano special. Shortly after arriving chips and hot sauces were delivered to my table. Two types of salsa were brought to the table, a standard red sauce and a green sauce. The green sauce was tomatillo based and mild in flavor. The red sauce was spicy with a nice«kick». It wasn’t «whmmpy» like some of the sauces at many of the TexMex restaurants. The chips were crispy and warm. After enjoying my chips and salsa, my lunch plate was delivered. The chili rellano as really good accompanied with rice and beans. Portion sizes were perfect for a lunch portion. Service was brisk and perfect for lunchtime. Next time I’m back in the Hot Springs area, I’ll definitely stop into Jose’s to explore more of the menu.

Jose’s Mexican Grill & Cantina has good Mexican/Tex-Mex food. The original restaurant is past the Lake Hamilton bridges on highway 7 South and even with its out of the way location, locals wait to get into this restaurant for white cheese dip and a good meal. The Green salsa is cucumber, very different. Jose’s now has a second location on Malvern Avenue. Jose’s is by far the most popular Mexican restaurant in Hot Springs. Don’t be surprised if there is a line. Full Bar and four beers on draft.
