Best Bakery

Came here because I wanted to try the Chix de Femme. Really yummy. Now it is a regular stop when we are in the area. They also make the most awesome Shoe Soles.

Love this place! French bread is like a cloud of deliciousness! Cookies and other pastries are equally as wonderful! My husband introduced me to Best Bakery and it is by far the best King Cake I have had. We now live in Washington DC and every time we go home to visit we MUST stop by Best Bakery to load up on all the treats we can never find anywhere else.
This place is the best, the name truly does say it all!

Best French bread you will ever eat. Ever.
Look I know that people have their favorite French breads from Nola and Laffayette. These people need to broaden their horizons with a visit to Houma… home of the greatest French bread on this planet!!! The loaves are always fresh and usually hot from the oven!
Best Bakery also provides amazing pastries. These include shoe sole, a crispy thin pastry the size of a large shoe (I posted a photo to help.) These wafer thin cookies are coated in cinnamon and sugar.
Chix de femme [“chik-​DAY-​fom”] are yellow cinnamon rolls with a gooey clear glaze. Omg deslish! People come from miles around to get them. They were a staple of reporters covering Hurricane Katrina.
There is always an assortment of cookies, fritters, macaroons, turnovers, miniature pies, and other chef creations.
Best Bskery makes some of the greatest king cake you willl ever try. Yes, Nola snobs, FAR BETTER than Gambino’s, Randazzo’s and McKenzie’s put together! They are that good.
So if you are in the Houma/​Terrebonne area, make it a priority to visit Best Bakery. And if you are not in the area, get in your vehicle, on your bike, walk if you have to, and get to Best Bakery!!! It’s a hidden gem.
