Great lil breakfast place off the beaten path! Would recommend the sunshine breakfast!

If you’re going out for lunch for a good sandwich this is where I would go. Went eat for lunch. Very fast and friendly service. The crab bisque is one of my favorites. I haven’t tried anything on the menu I haven’t loved this includes the coffee, soups, salads, and panini. Everything was fresh and delicious I will defiantly be returning!

Haven’t been here in over 2 years due to the extremely rude, lackluster service… funny to read the reviews, as it appears nothing has changed!!!

Sandwiches are pretty good. A little pricey for a sandwich shop. Service could be a lil better.

Moody people. Always. Every single time. It just feels like they are put off by you being there. The food is awesome. The best sandwiches in town. It’s just too bad you don’t feel welcome there.

My husband and I have driven past this place many times but never tried it. We went today and the sandwiches were really good and I liked the baked potato salad. The restaurant itself and the way it’s set up are nothing to write home about and we waited over 40 after ordering our food. You place your order at the counter and they bring the food to you. We arrived early enough to avoid the lunch crowd. Try the place though! I had a club panini and my husband had a muffuletta panini. The bread was toasted nicely and had a nice«chew» to it. One of my issues living in Houma was the bread here(especially sandwich bread) is too soft and falls apart too quickly. They also had desserts that looked great. We didn’t have time but will certainly go back!

It’s pretty nifty to visit a town(Houma) for one day only(today) when you need to get work done(on a laptop) while your man does burly, manly things for his job at the nearby Falck Alford. After an exhausting drive up and down MLK Jr Blvd in search of the Starbucks, I chose my iPhone’s next suggestion – this place. I love that this is sort of the model of what a community café should be – a place that makes fresh food with local ingredients as well as coffee drinks – with customers who stop in to gossip over coffee, or meet up in large groups for sit down meals. I like that. It’s neat. Reminds me of Coffee Call in Baton Rouge’s College Drive strip mall, only with real food(beignets are like pseudo food, and the sausage biscuits are kind of tired there. But this isn’t a review of Coffee Call. Ahem.) The crab and corn bisque is heavy on the cream, light on the crab(what isn’t these days) and the drip coffee comes with an Andes mint placed adorably on the saucer. Some staff were super nice, others, not so much. They make melon and coconut smoothies. Maybe out of powder – I’m not sure – but still. Honeydew smoothies! I got to soak up that lovely French Louisiana-descended accent as well as the town gossip about whether or not it’s important to know the mother of the boy with whom your daughter attends Homecoming. I am just not willing to knock the place hard-core for one grumpy gal – grumpiness does not deter me from using your wi-fi for 1 – 3 hours while I drink massive quantities of coffee. I won’t return for a sit down meal the next time Falck Alford calls my better half to town, though. I will probably try Crawfish House across the street.

I tried this café this morning. I walked in and sat down. Sat there for several minutes while the girl behind the counter drinking a coke or something kept peeking at me. I got up and asked if I had to order at counter or what? She treated me like I was dumb for asking instead of saying good morning ma’am we take the orders here.. She was blonde wearing jeans and a weird green jacket. Not easy to even identify as an employee. She was rude and condescending. After finally taking my order she said it would be out in a few minutes. There was NOONE else in dining Room but me so I figured it should not take long. Well… 25 minutes later she brought my food. She had disappeared in the back for the first ten minutes before making my Order. Ridiculous for eggs and pancakes to take so long with only one other customer who came in after I placed my order. Who incidentally got his food before me. After receiving not so good food, no one ever once checked on me. My money is good anywhere and I sure wont bother coming back here. I will let others know of this mediocre food and nasty attitude. Perhaps the owner should investigate the behavior of this employee as there are MANY good restaurants to choose from. This was a waste of my 10.95, not to mention a complete waste of my time!

This is the same as the Demitasse in Thibodaux that burned. The owner relocated to Houma and its great to have Demitasse back. Great fresh prepared Paninis and the one and only Shoe Sole.
