This park is frequently voted«best picnic spot» and«best park» in State College Magazine’s «Best of» series. It has everything: sand volleyball(or badminton!) courts, tennis courts, big, open fields, a stream that you can wade in, a covered bridge, an exercise path, softball diamonds, and plenty of grills & picnic spots. For the kids, there’s a big sandbox, a small play structure, a few swings, a climbing wall, and more. Since the walking paths are paved, some kids like to ride their bikes(or tricycles) around as well. There are two park entrances: 1. 901 Houserville Rd.(this is the main entrance — near the tennis courts, stream, and restroom) 2. Off Puddintown Road(to 151 Spring Creek Park Road) —(a secondary entrance near the ball diamonds)

This is a beautiful park. Lots of trees. Spring Creek runs through it. Some ball fields for the kids and adults who still think they are kids. There is even a covered wooden walking bridge across the creek along a walking trail. There is lots of parking. They also have indoor bathrooms that look to be in decent shape. This is a great place to take the kids after picking up a pizza. They can play on the playground after eating at the picnic tables. The playground equipment is modern. There is even a sandbox. The park is great because it doesn’t get too busy. That allows for ducks and some of the wildlife to show up from time to time. Lots of shade for the hot Summertime. Also, the stream is nice and cool to put your feet in and cool off.

Great park with lots to offer! There are two entrances — one on Houserville Road and one on Puddintown Road. My BFF parks in the plentiful and easy parking off Houserville, which is conveniently located by the restrooms, playground, pavilion, and tennis courts. There’s ample space for flag football and even a baseball diamond on the other side of the creek. There’s a paved walking path that can take you all the way to the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center. There’s a covered bridge over Spring Creek that takes you down a gravel path to the baseball field. The playground has a structure with two slides, steps and climbing bars in good condition. There are a couple a springy-ride thingies, two bucket swings, 4 regular swings, 3 concrete cylinders full of sand, and a plastic climbing wall. Most of the playground is covered in bark for good cushioning. Bathrooms are relatively clean, though they didn’t have soap as of yesterday, so you probably want to bring wipes or hand sanitizer.
