3rd Ward Finest Kutz

I showed up and the place was closed, and Hour and a half after it was supposed to be open. The guy next store said, they tend to come in in a bout an hour. So I all in all 2.5 hours after posted. But after reading the other review I guess I got lucky just to get out of there without a worse experience.

Walked in yesterday afternoon after reading the one review here. Asked for a basic haircut cheap as possible… he said «$ 20 but that includes the whole 9 yards, cut, shampoo and shave.» I was like «there’s nothing I see here to indicate they’re gonna come close to $ 20 in value/​service but what the heck. The haircut was flat out lopsided, way too short on the sides, but too long on top by far in spite of having him take more off twice after seeing what he’d done so far. When I washed it at home this morning instead of improving overnight (like most haircuts) this one had became so much more obviously horrible that I thought about shaving my head as the only viable solution. There is a difference of about 40 – 50 in thickness and length between the left and right sides of my head, my sideburns are about 20−30% PAST zero… ie: they were even before and ended just about right below the bottom line of my ears… NOW ONE ENDS AT MY TEMPLE AND THE OTHER SIDE ENDS ABOUT WHERE THE NORTH POLE WOULD BE IF MY HEAD WAS A GLOBE OF THE EARTH! Amazingly these are both on the opposite side of my head as relates to the side that’s WAAAAYYY TOO SHORT OVERALL AND THE SIDE THATS 40% longer. I FIGURE THE GUY MUST HAVE PERFORMED MY ENTIRE HAIRCUT WITH PLASTIC SCISSORS AND HIS EYES CLOSED! Also got no shampoo, blow dry or shave as promised. BUT THIS IS WHEN IT GETS EVEN WORSE: I’m pretty sure the barber intentionally pulled a little The Sting/​Paper Moon con on me and shafted me out of another $ 30 when I was paying. I only had a $ 50 bill, a $ 10 bill and some ones. I handed him the $ 50, he went around to all the other guys trying to come up with $ 30 between the 3 of them (cause they’d obvy done so little business between opening and 4:00 PM;) Well they weren’t having much luck pooling resources to make change AND when I counted my ones I actually had 10 of them so I paid him the $ 20 exact change and THOUGHT he gave me my $ 50 bill back, but alas when I went to pay for groceries an hour later, I pulled the bill out of my wallet and IT WAS A $ 20!!! I’ve left 2 messages there at the shop today but they haven’t returned my calls AND their phone has been busy literally from 9:00 AM until 4:00 today!!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS, THE HAIRCUTS ARE AWFUL, THEYRE JERKS AND YOU MIGHT END UP PAYING $ 50 FOR A $ 3.99 HAIRCUT TOO!!!

This is a great down to earth barber shop, Roy is real skilled with the clippers and you get a razor blade edge up! Great haircut with great people for 15 bucks, what else could you ask for!
