This is the absolute worst place i have ever had the displeasure of taking my car. I will NEVER recommend aamco to ANYONE unless i hate that person.
I took my car in to retrofit air conditioning to new refrigerant. After two weeks of driving the car, all of the refrigerant leaked out. When I took my car back so he could fix the problem, I was told the system was pressure tested but sometimes the leak can be detected right away and sometimes it takes a while for the leak to show. Keep in mind that my car was at his shop for a week while waiting on other parts for other work that was being done. When it comes down to it, I dont believe they even did the work they told me they did. But, he was able to tell me everything but the the truth in that he, nor his emplyees had no idea what they were doing.
Now my Car is idiling High and the Blower does not work. Piss Poor Performance.
If you have car issues, I recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else.

We have had nothing but trouble from the store located at 7900 HWY 6. Houston, TX. My husband purchased a Groupon voucher a year ago and was mailed a large coupon good for multiple services over the course of one year.

Our 1998 Lexus ES300 has been «serviced» there on three separate occasions — 10/​11, 12/​11, & today. The first time he made an appointment, but still had to wait two hours. That was nothing compared to the last two times when something has been broken or damaged that requires extra time, parts, labor, etc. Today was the last straw!
I brought the car in for an oil change and tire rotation, services which had been performed at this location before. The mechanic broke the anti-​theft key that removes the security lug nuts, one for each tire. Instead of taking those off by hand — which is what Lexus recommends — they used the power air gun at too high a speed & stripped the inside of the key. Anybody knows this to be true, yet the manager lied to me and tried to argue that it was a faulty part. This part worked the last time the tires were rotated by this particular AAMCO in October.
In December, the mechanic installed a new power steering pump, but our power steering went out before we even got home (5 miles)! They came out to the house and had to take the car back to the shop to replace the part a second time. That day, Kirk apologized repeatedly, even offering additional services free of charge to make amends.
However, during today’s visit, I reminded Kirk of that incident and he told me that AAMCO does not guarantee their parts, JUST THEIR SERVICES. I know that to be a falsehood. Today he blamed the vehicle (Lexus ES300) for the power steering problem, DESPITE telling my husband that our Lexus was in excellent shape! Kirk has repeatedly lied to us and shirked his responsibility to properly service the car.
After Kirk continued to make excuses and lie to my face, I got in the car saying I’d never be back & that I would contact the AAMCO corporate office, notifying them of the aforementioned events. He came out to the car and told me through the sun roof that I owed him six dollars. I told him I wasn’t going to pay him for breaking my anti-​theft key. He shouted at me and threatened to repossess my car. He yelled through the sun roof, «I know where you live, so you’d better hide that car because we’re coming to repossess it!»
I drove straight to Midas and made an appointment for the replacement of the security lug nuts & a tire rotation. By the time I got home, Kirk had left a threatening voicemail at my home saying that my car would be reprocessed for theft of services — $ 6.00 of tax.
This location has permanently damaged the reputation of the AAMCO brand. If corporate feels that Kirk does not speak for them, then I hope to be contacted immediately. I also hope that if his threats to repossess my car are sincere, that corporate will overrule him and put a stop to his threats and the towing crew. If not, then for $ 6.00, you have bought an awful lot of bad publicity. Besides my friends and family and everyone on Facebook, I am also negatively reviewing your business on Unilocal,Angie’s List, Google, and Yahoo.
Not only will we never have our vehicles serviced at an AAMCO, but I am also forwarding this letter to the Better Business Bureau attached to my claim against your location at 7900 HWY 6, Houston, TX.
