It’s been perhaps 2 years since I started electrolysis, and I can’t believe I haven’t gone in over 6 months. If you stick with it, it really does work. I remember how frustrated I was trying to find a hair removal solution, and I wanted to update everyone…

I can heartily recommend Maxine for your hair removal experience. I have been going to her now for some time and she is great. She is very professional and kind as well as prompt and knowledgeable. I have made good progress towards totally removing the unwanted hair on my face. I have had electrolysis before and I know how well it works. She is great!

I had an 11am appointment at Advance Electrolysis to focus on a small problem area on my face this morning. Mrs. Bell began my session at 11am on the dot. She did an initial counseling session and she explained the process to me. She asked questions and she answered all of my questions. She is very personable and professional. It was not a painful experience for me. The procedure felt like tweezing for me. Mrs. Bell is honest and I did not feel like she was trying to run the clock for money as she charges according to time. I spent $ 25 and I was there for 38 mins which means she did not charge for the consultation portion because 30 mins is $ 35. Her rates are posted for all to see. The office was neat, clean, and spacious in my opinion. I look forward to my next scheduled appointment in two weeks. She left me with clear instructions for my next appointment and I appreciate her for being so thorough. If you need services, do not be intimidated as electrolysis is tolerable and affordable. It is also a good way to permanently eliminate unwanted hair in sensitive areas. If you are looking for someone who can work with all types of skin, Maxine Bell has the experience.

Maxine Bell is the owner and electrologist at Advanced Electrolysis, which is set inside a commercial business building on the 4th floor on the corner of Bay Area Blvd and El Camino Real. I’ve been to Maxine twice so far, and compared to three other electrologists I’ve been to, she has been the best. I had already started treatments in another city several months prior, and had visited Maxine when I was visiting Houston for a short time. She used blend method, which is the method I prefer since it is the most effective. However, she does offer other methods if you prefer other types. Immediately upon meeting her, I felt comfortable. She has a very relaxed demeanor and is very sweet. She asks a lot of questions about your concerns and has you fill out a whole questionnaire regarding your skin/hair problems. She also uses topical anesthetic if you like, and properly cleanses your skin before starting. In addition, afterwards she gives you an icepack to keep on your skin for 15 – 20 mins, which she lets you take home with you. She also does catapharesing(I’m probably spelling it wrong), which I beleive helps reduce the redness. I know this sounds so simple, but none of the electrologists I’ve been to before have ever done the ice or topical anesthetic steps! The topical makes the treatment so much more tolerable, and the ice really helps remove the heat from the skin making your healing faster. Anyways, I really didn’t want to write a review for Maxine, because I come to Houston quite often and didn’t want her to be no longer accessible to me as she has been so far. Every time I’ve been able to make an appointment with her same day or next day. Also, I shopped around in the Clear Lake area before coming to her, and she and only one other electrologist had the lowest prices. I can’t rmbr off the top of my head what the prices are, but I’m actually going to her again tomorrow so I’ll find out prices so I can post them. She is honest with you about how electrolysis can be a long process, but with consistency, you can have permanent hair removal results.
