Wanting more with your nails? Try this place out! If you are looking for some awesome nail art come here! I This nail salon is operated by Japanese Nail Artist, they are here to create art on your nails. The girls are very friendly and professional. Their cuticle detailing is very gentle, which consist of cuticle primer and pushing back the cuticle and trimming the cuticles gently. I totally appreciate this because to many nail salons will butcher them. I am going to coming back and try their head spa treatments! That sounds pretty good to me! I had their head spa! Love it!

I love this place! My friend discovered this place when she went to the Chinese restaurant next door. She tried the scalps massage and love it so she introduced me to this place. At the time i had long hair over my waist that i would love to try hair treatment as well. I went there first time for a express scalps massage, love it so i went back for their anti-aging one. I also tried their nails service, i love how they made it so unique and their customer service was excellent. After going their for few times, i felt like we are friends already! I went there yesterday and got my nails done for Mickey mouse’s theme! Im sooooo loving it!!!

The friendliest and most hardworking ladies here! Not to mention, the MOSTSKILLED. I can be difficult when it comes to nails. I can do most designs and usually do my nails myself, but I come here when I want something more intricate. Just come here with a design or an idea in mind, they’ll make your nail dreams come true. I always get exactly what I want here. They’re true artists!

So this was my first time trying out this place and I hands down love this nail shop!!! The ladies who work there are so friendly and do everything they can to make your nails just how you want them. I been searching all over for a nail shop in Houston that can do 3D nail art and I am so glad this place can do it. I am so happy with my nails and I’ll let my pictures speak for itself. Everyone should stop by and try this place.

It was a nice place, I had the gel nails done and it looks ok. Didn’t think I had to pay extra $ 6-$ 7 plus for each finger for them to even my nails out since some where longer than the other. So I just did the regular for $ 35 and a design on 2 fingers for $ 10 and that was it. Was told a gel nail manicure with an extension was $ 65 not including any design. Best time to do a walk in is in the afternoon on a weekday but you’ll have to call in an appointment for the weekend. It’s clean and nice.

I absolutely loved this place! Let me say this though, this is NOT your typical neighborhood nail salon! This place is a very different experience with wonderful customer service. It is quiet, low lights, soft music and very personalized attention. They are very unique in that everything is hand painted and done with shellac so it lasts a lot longer. I had read an article about this place and told my friend about it. She actually made it there before I did and gave me a gift certificate as gift. I saved it for a special event,(Taylor Swift concert) that I was going to be attending this month. I came in with a custom design in mind and they nailed it to a T!!. I wore a TS T– shirt with the design I was using as inspiration and my nails look awesome! While I was there, I also tried the lash extensions. I have never had those done before, but had thinking about trying it. I have to tell you, I have had nothing but compliments since. I love them:) She took such care and time to be sure they looked good, which I so appreciated. They told me that everything was by appointment, which I also appreciated. This is intentional so as there are not a lot of people there at the same time. Both girls were so nice, seemed sincerely interested in whether I was happy with what they were doing/done, and it is now almost a week and there are no chips, scratches, or breaks in/on my nails. This is not the place if you are in a rush and are just looking for cheapest place. It is unique. I consider this place a treat to my self, I’m worth it:). I will certainly be going back to get my design again for our trip to Dallas to see TS!

So I finally got a chance to get a manicure here. The Ladies are so nice. And the lady who did my nails did a great job! She focused on the details which is a big plus. I was in love and got so many compliments on my nails. Japanese nail art is soooo beautiful and I’m so glad I found this nail salon. It was well worth the money. I will be returning in the future! :D

Great place to get sculpted nails! I’ve been looking for a place that specialized on Japanese nail art and this is definite the place to visit. It’s a bit pricey but you really get your money’s worth. Everyone is really nice and the atmosphere is really relaxing!

I loved this place, they did a wonderful job on my pedi and shellac. I think it may be a little pricy compared to other salons but I think I they did a good job. It’s time for another visit so I will try it again to see if it is worth the extra cost.

Because Houston doesn’t seem to have the nail artists of that in Japan, Korea, Taiwan or Hong Kong, I was pretty excited to find this place! It was a trek from home, but I was kind of sick of the rough mani and pedi treatments that these sub-par nail salons around me provided(one time when I went in with a broken toe nail, one person just literally pulled it off –_-). They are very gentle and were able to do a pineapple and banana on each of my big toe(see pics). The only reason I give it not the full five stars is because of the pricing. Honestly though, the price is similar to that of what I paid in Seoul, Korea and probably cheaper than in Tokyo. But as a recent converted Houstonian, you have to consider the market price, right? But I feel the attention to detail is worth it for me, so if you’re looking to treat yourself, do go!

Love this place! The two ladies that helped me were very polite and friendly even if we didn’t speak much. I got gel sculpture nails with nail art and I love how they turned out! I’m very meticulous about my nail art so I brought a picture in of the nail art I wanted and she was able to replicate it perfectly! I’ve had 3D nail art done before but most places never have all the details I’m looking for and I end up settling for an alternative design so that’s also a plus with this salon. If you’re looking for Japanese style nail art, this is the place! Even though the gel sculpture nails took some time, they were meticulous about each nail. The wait was well worth it for me! I am definitely returning here next time!

Atmosphere and décor were very relaxing. But it was HOT!!! Did not have massaging chairs. I paid $ 40,for a pedicure that should have been free. My husband even said it doesn’t look or feel like I got a pedicure. I will not be going back to many other good place to go around the area

I got a manicure here while I waited for my friend to get their scalp reflexology treatment. I opted for the very basic/express manicure with no additional nail art or anything fancy. This place has lovely décor, dim lighting and soft relaxing music. It was a great location to just sit and catch your breath after running around Houston all day. The manicure itself was very basic, some cuticle work, filing and then polish; no lotion or massage. A little expensive for the $ 15 price tag. However, they use extremely high quality polish and there was no upcharge for Vinylux(sort of like Shellac, but without the UV lights). The nail tech was extremely professional and friendly and explained some of their nail art designs to me as well as giving me recommendations for a good dinner restaurant. My friend’s scalp massage was so good that they almost fell asleep on the drive back to the hotel. I’d definitely return, I might even try the nail art.

I’ve been in Houston for 12 years and had not found one salon that understood what quality and professionalism is. I have to say that this time I am staying put. Aky was so detail oriented and so gentle on my hands and feet… This was the best salon I’ve been to without a doubt. The atmosphere is very relaxing, no smells of strong scents or chemicals, and I was treated as a special client, a person, not as another nameless individual going through a revolving door. These are true professionals who take pride in what they do.

Overall I had a good experience here at Akyish. I had a Living Social deal and decided to treat myself to a once a year mani/pedi(I should have more though, I know!) Atmosphere is very quiet… it’s dim but they have bright lights shining on down on you as they are working on your nails… so it could get a little hot, but it wore off after a little while. They didn’t have a million nail color selections, but they had pretty decent colors to choose from, and I really like that fact that the color is actually on fake nail pieces so you can see what it would really look like on your finger. The ladies really took the time to ensure a good experience. It’s not the typical salon where it’s a bunch of Vietnamese chatter… you could probably fall asleep to the music. No massaging chairs… just benches. It can be a bit pricey(Regularly $ 65 for a mani pedi). My only gripe is my polish has already started chipping after 2 days, so I’m a little sad about it.
