No joke, I think this is the best antique joint in Houston. I have gone to a good number of them and Antiques on 8 has the widest selection of beautiful things I have found. The front of this antique mini-mall can be intimidating, since the front booths tend to be taken by folks selling expensive fine and monumental furniture or high ticket smaller items. If your budget doesn’t fit a beautiful camphor wood campaign chest, have no fear, keep looking and you will make your way to the more reasonably priced items further along. There are«Persian» rugs, fine and costume jewelry, china, pictures, silver, crystal, clothes, firearms, you name it. We were there for three hours, really picking the place over and only covered half the facility. Overall, the prices were reasonable with me scoring some very high quality costume jewelry for a really low price and getting some nice antique fine jewelry and Teddy Roosevelt campaign items for really really good prices. One nice thing is that many of the vendors offer layaway. Inquire about the terms if you want to avail yourself of the option. Hub and I were very taken with the place and I will assure you we are prepared to become regulars. I can safely say to you that if you need a gift for an antique lover, a LOVEIT item for a steam punk enthusiast or a beautiful piece for your own collection, you’re likely to find something to take home with you from Antiques on 8.
