I was hurt in 1993 and had TMJ. My mom was told by both my dentist and orthodontist that he was the best. He was so good that I looked him up again in 2016 after getting head butted in my jaw by my 2-year-old. I’m very happy to see he is still around! I can’t tell you who half my doctors were back then, but I remember Dr Auvenshine.

I was honestly shocked to read the review below mine — I had an exact opposite experience. I came to the clinic in 2009 to start treatment for TMJD. I was a sophomore in high school and I had really bad pain while eating and talking sometimes. they start your first consultation by getting to know your lifestyle, getting a mold for your custom retainer, and taking a picture of your jawline. Then, they give you stretches to do and you wear your retainer basically 24⁄7 for the first 6 months I believe. The stretches were good(albeit I’m not great with keeping up with them now) but the retainer is awesome. I really feel a difference when I wear it(now just during nights) the day after. All of the nurses and Dr. auvenshine and petit(new dr there) are super nice and create a relaxing environment. If you have TMJD, this is the place to go! Definitely changed my enjoyment of life with TMJD.

I was referred to this guy by my dentist due to my popping jaw that sometimes locks during the winter. He had a certain method which involved stretching the muscles in my jaw, but all it gave me was migraines. When I told the nurses this, they basically told me to work through the pain.(A migraine??? BTW I am clinically diagnosed with migraines.) Once when I went in and said I was having issues, which was why I did not do these stretches, a nurse treated me like a child and made me do it even though it was excruciating pain for me. I quit going and lost a load of money for all the trouble. And my jaw opens even less now than it did before the visit. Save your money if you have mild TMJ problems. If more severe, you might want to look into someone who is more renowned.
