This is the best Bar-B-Que place! Been going there since I can remember! The food is great and the employees are always friendly! Love it!

This place is definitely closed. It looks abandoned. I came to this place with friends hoping to get some bbq but there was no one parked in the lot and it looked very much closed.

You don’t have to head outside the beltway for a rural-style bbq place. This place is always fun to visit – I have overheard some of the best conversations just waiting in line, and the prices cannot be beat. I mostly just get the baked potato all the way with a tea and it comes in at $ 5.72. Not too bad for a lunch that will fill me up until after dinner. It’s cute and clean inside, sorta feels stuck in the 70s/80s in a way that makes going inside way better than the drive thru. Make a lunch field trip and enjoy.

This place has seen much better days. The food wasn’t bad, just nothing memorable. I’d eat here with a friend if invited, but it’s nothing I crave having. Decent and cheap meal. Another commenter said they wouldn’t refer to it as a bbq joint, and that is a spot-on observation.

The very best pork bbq sandwich in Houston. Loaded with pork, always FRESH, lean, delicious!!! I drive a long way to get there. It is sooo worth the drive!

The best baked potato around. Ask for extra sour cream and the baked potato will melt in your mouth. I don’t order anything else when I come here.

The food is great. Especially the baked patato. The place is a little old(very old) but it’s still delicious. My grandma went there when she was a kid and it was delicious. It hasn’t changed. We have never stop going there, it is wonderful.

Love this place! I almost always get the chicken fried steak and it’s always awesome. The baked potatoes are really good too. I’ve been coming here for around 20 years. I call my order in and pick, only takes about 15 min.

I had been going here since I was a Kid. It was once one of the best around. The employees were friendly and many had worked there for many years. My favorite used to be the Baked potato, Shrimp Platter and Chef Salad. After being away for many years a friend a I met there for a dinner meal. Here is what has changed. The chef salad use to come with 3 meats beef, Chicken and Ham, they have cut it to one meat for the same price. The Ribs were tuff. I was very disappointed with the meal. I do not know if any of the original cooks are around any more and the taste of the food is just not what it use to be.

I admit that the chopped beef poboy is my guilty pleasure but that’s where I draw the line. Ok I lied. I would drink the sauce like if it was kool aid if they sold it in a large 72oz big gulp. But that’s it. I don’t like the fries. The ribs taste like tree bark and the chicken is slimier than PAPPAS chicken. Side note: I detest PAPPAS Bbq. the only reason I come here is because it’s down the street from my moms hose and the poboy basket is like 6 bucks.

I ordered a baked potato with chipped beef. It was a greasy mess! The meat mixture looked like something out of a can and smelled just like MANWICH! There was no barbecue taste or smokey flavor at all! I was very disappointed. I will not return.

I got my order to go so I was in and out. I wouldn’t call this place a bbq joint/restaurant. I would best describe it as a cafeteria. Now here me out. I didn’t smell bbq driving up, I didn’t smell bbq inside the restaurant, I had the food inside my car with the windows rolled up and didn’t smell bbq. Upon walking in you see a large rotisserie with chickens rotating and what looks like open flames dancing inside the rotisserie. I’m pretty sure the flames were for show and had nothing to do with the meat. You don’t have open flames with bbq. I think I saw something like that at a buffet in Vegas. The chicken is rotisserie chicken. A little juicier and plumper than what you get at kroger. It’s a good deal, a whole chicken for 6.79. The ribs lacked any smoked taste. I put some store bought bbq sauce on it and it brought the ribs up a few notches. Fries were soggy with grease, not worth eating. Service was OK food was good it just wasn’t smoked I guess is the best way to say it. I wouldn’t come back for ribs. I may try something else next time. I would surely get the whole chicken. I can make wraps or enchiladas.

I so wanted this place to be good but, I am not impressed. Not at all. Let’s start with the ordering process. It is a little disorganized with people forming random lines and the order takers are pulling people from the left, from the right… but, it’s a BBQ joint, I suppose. However, The dining area is large and there is plenty of space for mid-sized groups. When I watched other people’s orders coming out, I noticed that the portions seemed to be very generous so, I was hoping for the best. While I was waiting for my order to come up, I had to use the facilities. Why did I do that? The bathroom was horrendous and the smell is indescribable. I should have turned around right then but nature was calling. However, I decided to order the ribs, a little beef, sausage, ham and few sides for my partner and I to sample. When I got the product home, I dug in and was not impressed by the ham or sausage. Also, I asked for pork ribs and I got ONE. I did get beef ribs but, I was only interested in the pork. The sliced beef had no flavor and the ham seemed like something served in an elementary school cafeteria. And don’t even get me started on the BBQ sauce because it was watery and tasteless. Here’s the summation: PROS: –large portion size CONS: –tasteless food –in store bathroom –hard to get through on the phone to pre-order

This place was just horrible to me. HORRIBLE!!! I had high hopes based on other reviews but PLEASE do not be fooled!!! It’s bad!!! If you know & appreciate real barbecue, then this isn’t it. If you like smokey meat that doesn’t require bbq sauce to make it tasty, then this isn’t it. We got a sliced brisket sandwich and a rib plate and I’ve never thrown so much food away-I felt guilty but just could not stomach it. This was the blandest food I’ve ever had-the sauce couldn’t even make it taste better. However, if you’re struggling financially & only need a cheap belly filler, then this is your place because the portions are large.

Heard about this place from the singer LeToya’s page lol, decided to give it a try. I moved away from Houston but this was my go to place for BBQ beef potato, the bomb diggity(is that still hip? lol) I ordered the brisket plate once and didn’t care for it too much, I just stick to the beef potato! :)

Stopped by for quick lunch on 10÷22÷13. Do not let the outside fool you. This spot has obviously been around for a while but the inside is pretty spacious. Also noticed it was very clean. From the counters to the dining area to the self serve pickle/jalepeno/onion counter it was in order; which aint half bad during busy lunch hours. The only smell was the smell of good smoked bbq. I ordered a chopped beef sandwich. As orders came out, I noticed they weren’t stingy with portions & the same went for my sandwhich. The sauce was just a tad sweeter/light than I care for; I like mine thicker w/a lil more spice, but I’ve had waaaaaaaaay worse. Service was quick & friendly. They knew a few customers by name. Have to say it was pretty good; better than this sandwhich I’m eating from Demeris right now that I will review next :-) And for like $ 4.50 it wasn’t a bad deal at all. Their prices are extremely fair IMO… a full combo would’ve only been around $ 6-$ 7. I’ll def give this place a try again.
