Living is Seattle I have become a coffee expert! Best coffee I have had while in Houston… delicious!!!

Other than overly acidic and poorly made coffee and horrible breakfast tacos it seemed like a cute local coffee shop. Nonetheless I recommend finding another locale to try.

Coffee was so delicious. Had a hot latte and it was gone very quickly. They have cool art on the walls which adds to the coffee shop feeling. Comfortable seating areas and tv’s as well. My one downgrade would be the size of the to-go coffee cups. I wish they were larger. Maybe that’s just my problem with how much I love coffee. Overall, definitely a great place. Go here instead of Starbucks; you won’t regret it.

If ambiance is all you care about them this is your place. But if you care about service, price and quality of food, I would not recommend it. The workers forgot our meal and we had to remind them after she sat on the couch with her phone. The food was not worth the price we payed and the coffee was not good.

Really not the quality of drinks that I am used to. I ordered a small latte and the foam was very thick instead of the smooth micro foam that should be in a latte. I asked them to make it again and they gave me the same thing… so I guess this is the norm here.

This is a great spot to relax with friends or hold informal business meetings. The staff is wonderful! They have a great menu, too, if you want something besides pastries. My colleagues and I have enjoyed setting up «shop» here many times! The atmosphere is both open and cozy — I have never felt crowded here and yet it allows for intimate conversations.

best coffee shop on THE planet. Ben’s Beans was there for me when i was in need of my fix of coffee. It was kind of late, but the barista was so kind, and friendly, i felt kind of bad but coming in at such a late hour, but it was all ok. i got my coffee and i absolutely loved it. best service, when i was there, there was a small band playing outside. Ben’s was part of a very unique memory last year, and i highly recommend it to anyone who asks about coffee shops in houston.

Cute. Quaint. Local. Good espresso. Tons of flavor options. Central Perk style seating in the front with a large window looking at downtown. More tables in the back full of laptop people working diligently. Chill music playing, great baked treats, great customer service and my favortie: HUGE fun mugs. Clean bathroom, walking distance from lots of places downtown and they have a calendar of what’s going on around town. I wish I lived closer, i’d visit often.

We were hoping to get decent coffee to take out to discovery green but we were in for a huge disappointment. Cold brew and frapp was tasteless and watered down. Waste of 10 bucks!

Friendly staff, great coffee and breakfast tacos! And just a short walk from the convention center!

Excellent and friendly service. Got a 5 shot cappuccino, and the bacon breakfast taco. Both were great. Really big inside, but feels warm and welcoming. Maybe it’s the red painted walls and couches. Paintings cover the walls, and they have good music playing. I’ll come back each of the remaining days I’m in Houston.

The atmosphere is great, the beverages are tasty, and the chicken quasidillas are slammin! Plus the cute waitress was super helpful for a first timer. I would recommend this joint to everyone!

Great little coffee shop in Downtown. They make a terrific iced coffee(as «un-fancy» as that sounds) and serve up delicious treats. We had the chocolate bundt cake and a cream cheese danish and the danish I had was very tasty but without being unnecessarily sweet or syrupy tasting. They also have ample seating inside and the décor is very interesting, to say the least. Beware that there is construction on Dallas Street right now, so be prepared to deal with it and to look for street parking on adjacent streets. I’d recommend taking a parallel street up and maybe parking a block over and walking to the coffee shop.

Ben’s…oh what can I say… you are a gem in the city– a place you can go and actually chill and have a cup of coffee/iced coffee/a little sweet and sit down and not be rushed(in a venti late double caff, soy mocha chicka, no cup way) nothing pretentious about this place, step out of the office and get a cuppa and take a friend– tell them you work downtown and you get a discount! BAM there you go!

I came here after work downtown to finish up some work. For a downtown coffee shop, the prices are surprisingly good! I noticed that the pricing is better than most of the«trendy» coffee shops in the Montrose area. I ordered the dirty chai and it was excellent. It wasn’t overly sweet and gave me the caffeine kick I needed. They have little«bites»(like oatmeal, brownie, etc) for only $ 1, so I grabbed a caramel lacey to satisfy my sweet tooth. In short — a large space with fast WiFi and plenty of tables and outlets. The only downside is that parking is not free.

A little unsure about this place. The art and décor are really cool and the coffee was delicious and well priced. But we waited 5 – 10 minutes for someone to take our order when we were the only ones in there. There was an employee behind the counter but he was apparently more interested in his dishes. I’d give them another try but I wasn’t impressed with the service.

Stopped by in an early Saturday morning so there was hardly any business and excellent customer service. This seems like a great place to study with the eclectic array of couches and chairs. There is a huge variety of art on the walls, which is all for sale. I ordered an iced tiramisu addiction and a vanilla haze for the girlfriend. My only complaint is that it was little pricy but a visit here every now and then won’t hurt.

Between the 15% student discount(with ID) and the fun art on the walls, Ben’s Beans creates a laidback space that’s great for chilling with friends(and maybe studying? I don’t study in coffee shops). A bunch of us stopped by Ben’s Beans during a coffee crawl, and the barista served all of us without even batting an eyelid. The café au lait I ordered was a bit lacking, but the latte was better. Surprisingly, the most popular drink among us was the mango smoothie(they ran out by the end). Definitely a refreshing treat when it’s hot! There is not a lot of parking, so I would recommend taking the metro if you can! That way you can avoid both traffic and parking — the typical downtown nightmares.

I stopped in several times while staying at the nearby Hilton for Comicpalooza and this was a welcome escape from the madness of the CON and the overpriced hotel food offered at the Hilton. This is a very cool spot for coffee. Great strong, black coffee, and they will make a blended coffee drink for you with almond milk! The service was fast and friendly. The pastries(especially the strawberry filled pound cake) is delicious. The breakfast burritos were hot and tasty, a great way to start the day. Nice vibe and energy throughout the place. Very relaxing, I didn’t feel like I was in downtown Houston. Anytime I’m in downtown and craving a good cup of joe, I’ll definitely stop in for more of Ben’s Beans.
