This place was my first place that I’ve ever tried Persian foo lulls and fell in love with. I get their grilled beef and chicken kabobs with the butter rice. Their kabobs literally melts in ur mouth and falls apart. Super soft and tender. I love sitting in their patio on a breezy summer afternoon. They place music sometimes which I like while eating. The waiters don’t know English that well and are not attentive. You usually have to wave them down and get their attention to get something else. Once they take your order and seize we your food they disappear. The place gets pretty pack so make time for it when you do go and parking is a pain.

My first Experience at any Persian restaurant and has made me a regular now. Even though being a Pakistani I prefer going to a Pakistani restaurant but if I am in that area Bijan is the only place I am eating at. Thumbs up to the courteous staff. Very professional

Really delicious dishes, and very filling. Large open space outside you can rent for weddings/rehearsals and any other event you may have. We loved how the dishes came out quickly and fresh! I loved the hummus, and the bread. Definitely recommend this place if you want to try something new. It a great place to start. Pricing is in between it definitely affordable for authentic dishes. The rice was amazing and the chicken was very well seasoned. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. Also the location is a bit difficult to get in and out, but well worth it!

I really liked the interior of the restaurant and the covered patio, but the food here was okay. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great by any means. We ordered the kabab koobideh and kabab barg. The rice was good, but both the meat dishes needed much more seasoning. We had to practically drown the meat in sumac to give it some flavor. The meat was tender, but unfortunately, it was just too flavorless.

just amazing! friend and i went to lunch there yesterday, i got the chicken and salad and she got the quail, lamb chops and that amazing rice, wow. also served a side salad with chunks of feta, mint and cucumbers along with the best bread ever. they told us what brand the rice iwas and we immediately went to the indian grocer in the center on hillcroft and s/w fry(which btw was equally amazing) and the owner showed us the rice that we had at bijan. the brand is indian gate and it’s aged rice, very interesting. i now own a 10 pound bag ;), not exactly weight watcher friendly!

The best thing about this place is the BREAD! Food is good and the chicken is very tender and full of flavor. Service is okay, they tend to just do as much as they need to and the place is usually full of people

I’ve been coming here since I was just a kid with my family. Although it’s not the best Persian restaurant I will always love this place. With that said, I’ve seen this place go through different owners/cooks etc, some good and some not so good. They used to give lots of cheese, radishes and everything along with the bread served before the meal. Now it’s pretty skimpy. Still tasty though. Also sometimes it’s hit or miss. Like as in sometimes the food is eh and other times I’m like ok this taste like my grandma’s when she used to cook. Other than that, still a good place to go to and I always stop by when I’m in the area :)

I LOVE this place. Their food is spectacular… I’ve gone to other Persian restaurants and I always leave disappointed because none of them are close to how good Bijan’s is. I always order the same thing here, but it never gets old. They have high quality, lean chicken and beef that is seasoned and cooked to perfection. They have the best rice and perfect steamed vegetables. They always have outstanding hummus that I devour with their pita. This is my all time favorite restaurant in Houston.

I’ve been a fan of Bijan for years. I first visited when my former boss who happened to be Iranian took all of us to lunch for his wife’s birthday. Bijan used to be an order at the counter restaurant, but they have since changed it where you are seated and order from menus. Their menu has a lot of options — my personal favorite is the filet kabobs, but everything is good, even the chicken — they don’t overcook it to the point of drying it out. Their rice is yumzballz!!! I believe they use a touch of saffron giving it an outstanding flavor. The service is polite but not intrusive which is nice. Not quite a 5 star place, but if they improve the ambience a bit and clean up the menus they will get better ratings.

I have been coming to Bijan for over 7 years with my family. We’ve been through different management and despite the couple changes that have occurred through the years, we always find our selfs back here. We love this place. Pros: the food. Persian food consists mainly of grilled meats/veggies and rice. I don’t feel as guilty eating this food because it’s very light. My usual(along with half my family) is CHICKENBARG. Can’t go wrong with grilled chicken skewers. Mint and cucumber yogurt make the perfect pairing with this plate. Greek yogurt and rice??? I know it can be strange but trust me put it over your rice and take a bite. Zesty and minty. Perfect pairing coming together right there in front of you. You’re welcome. The complimentary bread is my guilty pleasure. So fresh and fluffy. Cons: they could do a better job with cleaning. Sometimes the menus are dirty and the ambiance could be a bit better. It’s nice outside but on the largest table, the bench has a rug over the bench for seating… Dirty might I add. The complimentary feta cheese could be served in a larger portion. At times its six of us and we might get one tiny cube per person. If you ask for more, they charge you. Can we please work on this? Bijan is our go to for Persian food and will continue to be. I’ll definitely write about it if it does.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice and a third time, I’m seeing attend here. I have been to this restaurant 3 times and every single time I am hoping my experience will be different. Unfortunately, similar issues every time. Bread was really good, rice was great, lamb shanks was soso. The service was also soso. A soso place that masquerades as somewhere better.

Ive been to bijan several times over the past couple years. Most recently I hosted a dinner there for about 45 people. The manager sam was great with accommodating my large party, and worked with me to come up with a menu beforehand. Their appetizer platter with the eggplant and hummus and tabouli is a great started. The eggplant has lots of flavor. They serve the herbs and fresh bread and cheese complimentary. The kabobs are great, I personally love the chicken barg. The chicken shish kabob is already flavorful and juice. Im not a huge fan of the beef kabobs, but they have lots of variety. The rice is your standard delicious Persian rice, served with a side of butter. On a regular day their service can be a pit spotty since theyre always busy.

Giving this place a 4 star for now just because I have yet to try their other dishes. BUT from what I had, it is a 5 star all the way. Not really much to say about the atmosphere and environment of the place, seemed like a normal restaurant. First time trying Persian food :) I had number 34 which was A skewer of lamb chenjeh and ground beef with rice. It was absolutely amazing. Both meats were moist and the rice was none like I ever had before. It cooked perfectly and complimented the meat very well. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food!

I’ve always seen this establishment off the corner of 59 and Hilcroft but never really managed to make it. I’m not familiar with Persian cuisine as it is similiar to Mediterranean, which I just end up sticking to. They start you off with Iranian flat bread, and plates of mint, cheese, raw onions, radish and lime. Not sure what to do with it so we just ate it with the bread in a taco style structure like any true Mexican would! The combination of flavors were different but definitely good. I ended up ordering the beef and chicken kabob served over rice and a side of tabouli. The chicken kabob had the most flavor and was my favorite part of the meal. The beef kabob is your usual beef kabob. The saffron rice is very fluffy and presentation of the entire entrée was great. I am a still a bit confused on why they provide you with butter at every chance they get. We also ordered the grilled chicken plate which came with rice as well. Overall, I was impressed with the place, I am not very familiar with Persian food that is not a kebob so did not venture outside of that. The tabouli was a bit too tangy for me and not as green as I am used to but still very appetizing. If you have never tried Persian cuisine, I would definitely recommend this place!

Bijan is the perfect place to go if you are looking for great Persian food. I’ve been to their previous location and last week I had a chance to go to their new location. It’s so much bigger and better! The food is still just as wonderful. I tried their beef and chicken koobideh and OMG it was awesome! I love their pita bread, it’s always so fresh and soft. So basically if you are craving Persian food, definitely come here.

Honestly, Kasra has ruined me. If anyone else does anything similar that doesn’t hit the level of excellence Kasra hits every time, then I cannot in good conscience give it anything more than 3 stars. This is such a place. A friend organized a last-minute NYE dinner and had originally wanted to go to Kasra. Unsurprisingly, Kasra was booked until 9, so we opted for Bijan instead. Upon sitting, they give you small platters of mint, parsley and basil with crumbled feta cheese and slices of red radishes. The greens aren’t as a-plenty or as fresh as Kasra(see? I’m already comparing), but what I like about this place is that they give you flatbread from the get go. Prices are very reasonable and have a variety of meats that would satisfy any Mediterranean craving. Since this was going to be the first of two dinners that night, Hubbs and I shared the special combo(beef and chicken skewer with rice and veggies). We ended up getting cherry rice, which was a little greasy and the cherries were overpowering. The chicken was a little dry and the beef was okay. Overall, it was just okay. We also ordered a hummus which was never delivered, which wasn’t a big deal since another person ordered one and it was big enough for the whole table. I think I wouldn’t mind coming here for a dinner with good friends. If I had my way every time, though, I would definitely head over to Kasra.

Tried the mixed(1 beef, 1 chicken) koobideh and it was very juicy! At other places the chicken can be dry, but here I loved both the beef and chicken. I don’t think you can wrong with any of the koobideh orders. I’ve only eaten here for lunch, and its very chill. It’s a great spot to have conversation and catch up with a friend(not too loud). I wonder if it gets busier/louder for dinner. I want to come back and try the lamb skank or the lamb/quail dishes ASAP!

I really enjoy this place and would go more often if it were easier to get to. The gheymeh and chelo kabob are really good, I recommend the gheymeh on tahdig. On nicer evenings you can enjoy your meal outside with some hot tea and music playing in the background that helps drown out the noise. So my review and 5 stars is for the food only, not the location. I suggest the chelo kabob with the koobideh but the barg is good too. The kashke bademjan is a good appetizer and has a nice smokey flavor. Will definitely go again!
