I do outside service calls, so I have a pretty good idea what is involved with getting a tech out. These guys do well in this department. By comparison, I had called two other companies, asked to leave a message and did not get called back.
Air Conditioning service in Houston in the summer is a crapshoot at best, there are plenty of companies that contract techs that may either not be fully competent, or are flat out cheaters. Sorry, I am speaking from experience not theory.
Bodensteiner got a competent tech out when I needed him, found a couple of problems that were causing my unit to run forever (without cooling the house) took care of those issues and charged me a fair price. You cannot do better than that.

Perfect service. Blair got back to us right away to arrange a time convenient to us to inspect our condenser. He had diagnosed the problem within about 15 minutes. He gave us a very reasonable quote for the labor, arranged for us to get the part under warranty, and sent Hank to finish up the job once the part arrived the next day. I will use Bodensteiner for the life of my home as I couldn’t be happier with the outstanding professional service.

Such a courteous service! I have 2 month old baby and was really concerned about air ventilation system at my house. I needed an inspection and to see whether it was my air conditioning system that was causing my baby boy harder to breathe. I requested quote via Unilocal and got reply from Mr. Bodensteiner immediately. He offered to stop by at no charge and check whether I need ventilation system fixed. He arrived at the same day and explained what might be causing the problem. Fast, reliable and most importantly honest person in this business.

Cannot say enough for this fortunate find in the Houston Heights based solely off of the reviews found here on Unilocal.Service call was for a clogged main drain to the Evaporator on the HVAC system. Quickly scheduled and actually arrived within three hours of the initial call. Quick service and no need to upsell additional services — quick and to the point.
Definitely keeping this number handy to provide to neighbors and friends.

Yes, they do actually deserve 5 stars. Called them because they were close by. Kyle accommodated my schedule and was a professional in every manner. Our unit was fixed in literally about 15 minutes and the cost was more than reasonable especially considering there was no feeling of unreasonable mark up on the new part installed.
I would definitely use them again.

So happy I called them! My cousin recommended them and I loved their reviews, so I decided to call on a Friday. Blair came out the next day, quickly fixed our AC, and the price was very affordable!
With temperatures in the 90s, I’m so glad to have a cool house again.
Will be calling them next time.

Called them one morning recently when our AC quit working at night, and Blair came over within the hour. Of course you always assume the worse, but he was able to pinpoint the problem pretty quickly and easily and didn’t try to sell me a whole new system (which is what I was afraid of, as mine is fairly old). But nope, just needed a quick replacement part and the system was back up and running in literally 15 minutes. Great service and great company. Would definitely use again.

Our AC has gone out twice in the last month. We were finally referred to Blair. He arrived first thing in the morning and fixed the problem. We are renting an old Heights house so when we got home from work and realized I the fan looked like it stopped, we called again and left a message. Five minutes later Blair called back. Five minutes after that he was at our house. Basically, the issue was in a poorly maintained unit and a lack of insulation in the house. But, he inspected the unit and the ductwork in the attic… after hours… on the same day. He is professional, honest, and efficient… Most importantly, when it’s July in Houston and you have no AC, they solve all your problems! :)

I can’t say enough good things about Blair and his staff. On time, efficient, and high quality service! This is the second time we’ve used them– for separate problems with our A/​C :). They find the problem and fix it, and not play swaptronics like some other companies. Friendly, knowledgable, and great value. You won’t regret calling them.

Finally, an honest AC company! Blair arrived within the timeframe that we requested. He checked out our AC and didn’t find anything wrong with it. John Moore Services had been out a couple weeks earlier and quoted repairs ranging from $ 270-​$ 970. I knew there was nothing wrong with one of the parts they said had to be replaced so I called Bodensteiner. John Moore has an F rating with the BBB for good reason. I really appreciate Blair’s honesty and will call him when I need AC repair.

I have always used Lee Thompson Co for my HVAC repair needs. I had a leak in my evaporator coil and LTC recommended replacement of the entire air handling unit due to the location of the leak on the coil. I was not convinced that I needed to spend that kind of money on a leak and called Bodensteiner upon the recommendation of a friend. Blair diagnosed the leak and recommended soldering as an alternative. It worked and is still working — as I should have written this review over a year ago.

You will want to use this company for your HVAC needs! I have been using them for several years now and have never been disappointed. Blair (owner) is honest and dependable and has done work for my boyfriend, mother and several neighbors. Its always good to have a great HVAC guy. Thumbs up!
