So, my experience was that the techs and folks doing the actual breast screenings are really nice. The process and the people at registration were not. First, let’s talk the registration people. The people I dealt with were about as informative and warm as hunks of wood. Not really cold, but not warm and welcoming either. They were efficient, but left us to sit in the waiting room not knowing what we were waiting to do, was there more to fill out, what did we need to have ready… nothing. Even a sign telling us wait till you are called and have your ID and Insurance Card ready would help. Also, the one lady came in, turned the TV on and left it blaring on some inane morning show. Horrible. The other lady and I snuck over and grabbed the remote out of the desk to turn it back off. The process does leave a lot to be desired. It is a lot of hurry up and sit there while wondering what’s next and whether you should have told someone you were there because you’re stuck over in a little room with no one in it and no view of anyone who might notice you were there and need to be taken care of. It makes a person feel rather isolated, lonely, and lost. Heaven help you if you have been diagnosed with an issue and are anxious. So, St. Joseph, you could do better on your process and your registrars. Your Technicians in the mammography department are sweet, enthusiastic and supportive. I give them 5 stars.
