Let me preface this review by saying that I am not a Brighton shopper. I don’t remember ever taking notice of this store. It’s not the type of place that I normally shop, but my mother-in-law’s Christmas list consisted of Brighton jewelry, so I made the trip on Black Friday to see what we could get. I was overwhelmed upon entering the store(how can so much STUFF be crammed into such a tiny store?!?) but a friendly associate approached and asked if she could help us. My husband produced the list, which listed four bracelets by name, and the girl immediately went about gathering the bracelets. In less than 5 minutes, she had found all the items on our list, and we were ready to check out. The store also has free bottled water and cookies to munch on while you shop, which was super fun. I don’t know if I would ever come here for myself, but the service here was so fantastic that if I need to get a gift for my MIL again, I know exactly which Brighton I will buy from!

This is a wonderful place to buy gifts for sisters, Aunts, and friends! The staff here is awesome! They are so nice and helpful. If you want to avoid the inconvenience of Galleria, then this is the place for you.

Brighton has never been on my radar. Well, that’s not true. It has, but always fell into the category of «omg, I will *never* be caught wearing that gaudy crap». For some reason, though, I recently moved back to Houston and found myself popping into the Brighton store in Highland Village. I may have fallen in love. Brighton has a gigantic selection of silver bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and belts. Surprisingly, it’s not all gaudy crap either! I’ve bought two bracelets, a belt, and have my eye on a gorgeous smoky quartz ring. Yes, there’s still a lot of gaudy crap, but you can easily integrate their pieces in with more modern, contemporary everyday pieces. Their prices are very reasonable(although it’s not sterling silver — it’s zinc covered in 99% silver) and make great gifts. The staff at this location is very helpful, if only slightly pushy. Prepare yourself for lots of hearts when you walk in, but keep your eyes open and I bet you’ll spot a slew of things you just can’t live without.

Okay. I hate hearts. I hate anything that is decorated with hearts. It is just recently that I started wearing pink. And I certainly don’t like swirly, girly designs. Nope, not me. Except, I find myself hating Brighton less and less. When I first moved to Texas, I was horrified by all the«old woman» jewelery as I called it that I saw on every single female that I knew. It bothered me that these grown women would adorn themselves with hearts everywhere. It reminded me of those annoying girls who would dot their«i» with hearts. Ugh. I tended to avoid this store like the plague for obvious reasons. And then Mother’s Day came around now being the dutiful daughter-in-law that I am, I had to find something suitable. So to Brighton I went. And I wasn’t miserable. I even found my sister-in-law this great iPod case that I wanted(that is if I had an iPod I would’ve wanted it). So what happened? Good question. They still use way too many hearts for my comfort level, but not all of their designs are for old biddies with too many cats and blue hair. I even received a bracelet(yep, with hearts on it) for my birthday this year and I love it. Maybe it is because I’ve been drinking the koolaid for so long(Texas really grows on you.. .like a fungus), but I am started to actually like a lot of their lines – however, if I start doing the big Texas hair(crap, the volume of my hair HAS risen about 2 inches since I’ve moved here), you must stop me! The ladies are friendly and helpful. The prices aren’t bad and the quality is great. It is really easy to exchange things. All in all, not a bad place if you can swallow your pride and admit that a few hearts now and again isn’t too bad.
