Went to grab a quick lunch at the new Westpark Dr west location. Took 18 minutes to get my order of just a double cheeseburger at 5pm but it was a pretty good burger. Very light bun which was filling and the meat surprisingly didn’t feel heavy on the stomach afterwards. Love the concept of canned drinks… keeps it simple! Apart from the speed of delivery I think it’s a 4 out of 5 on quality!

This was delicious! It was great value for the size and taste and price. I got a buffalo cheeseburger with everything on it, boyfriend got chili cheeseburger. I really had no complaints or little thing that I didn’t like. Aside from the burger, just got an iced tea(and boyfriend got a bottled soda? idk) and we got ice cream sandwiches. They don’t have a fryer, so there’s no fried sides which is kinda cool. The venue itself is super chill, kinda divey, right under the freeway, mostly outdoor seating. I can see it not being as busy when it’s colder outside, since there’s really only like 3 tables inside. I think they do have to go. I wonder if it’s dog friendly out on the patio? Does anyone know? Oh — their«BJ» is a habanero sauce or something. They don’t have it anywhere on the menu but thankfully someone in front of me asked«what’s the BJ» –__– and I didn’t have to. Would recommend!

This place is a hidden treasure! If you’ve never heard of it, do yourself a favor and get over there ASAP. The staff is amazing and down to earth friendly. It’s no wonder this place has been around for decades now. Not to mention the food is some of the best to be found on this side of town. I usually get the Buffalo Burger which is lean, protein packed, and flavorful. Did I mention their meat is flavorful? A lot of burger places now a days are a hit or miss when it comes to seasoning their burger patties and tend to focus more on add-ons and condiments instead. Not Bubba’s, their burgers are so delicious that I feel like I never skip a beat even when I opt for a healthier, plain meat on wheat after going for a run. That’s not to say they lack creativity when it comes to dressing up those delicious patties. Try my(and just about everyone’s) favorite, «TheVegas Burger» on your first visit. Runny egg, crispy bacon, a bad ass habanero sauce, and all the fixings with your choice of buffalo or bull . They serve Saint Arnold’s beer and are dog friendly out in their huge patio! Why are you still reading this? Go get a real Texas burger at Bubba’s Texas Burger Shack already!

Vegas burger was recommend to me by the staff as their top seller. The sauce is what differentiated this burger for me. A smooth habenro sauce, with enough kick but not overwhelming the burgers remaining toppings. Inside seating is very limited(15 – 20), but the outside deck is expansive. If you’re visiting here for the first time, be forewarned. It is under the interstate. The entrance is easy to miss. The safest method is to be in the westbound frontage line so you can turn in without crossing oncoming lanes of traffic.

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Pro-tip — Skip the fries or onion rings and get that Jalapeño Potato Salad. It’s out of this world.

This is it. Houston’s best burger. I hardly finish a burger but oh boy here, no one can stop me from finishing my burger. I have had their chili cheese burger and just plain old cheese burger. Both beef meat. I am not so adventurous thats why I haven’t tried buffalo meat. I say this is one of the must go places in houston. It is a very small place right in the middle of the highway but worry not plenty of seatings. My guarantee you will love this place.

Bubbas is literally a hole in the wall(aka shack) so the name is no false advertisement! Located by the highway, you have to have a good eye to spot it or it’s easily missed. When I indulge in burgers I typically like mine with fries which unfortunately, they do not sell. However, that jalapeño potato salad makes up for it because it is perfectly spiced, perfectly moist, and perfectly delicious. I wanted a jar of that but my solo brief trip didn’t afford to carry a tub of that everywhere. I opted for the buffalo cheeseburger which I was hesitant about initially because buffalo patties can easily become too dry given its so gamey. I was glad I opted for this though because they made it moist and it was huge! A potato salad, large burger and soda for under 10 bucks, I was a happy camper. Would definitely recommend!

Personally liked this place because it reminded me of back home! Liked that it was pretty straight forward. Burger, cheeseburger, bacon burger, ect., so it goes pretty quick. It’s great if you are just feeling a really good burger one day. AND they have great prices. I had the buffalo burger which was a little more. But not bad at all! They didn’t have fries which I didn’t mind too much. They had jalapeño salad and chips for the side. Which I’m totally okay with!

Great burgers. First time here and ordered buffalo burger, cheese, bacon, avocados, smoked jalapeños, and jalapeño potato salad on the side. Topped it off with a lone star. Probably the best burger I’ve had west of downtown.(Champs burger is a decent rival on the east end) Bubba’s gained a new follower for sure.

This place is a hole in the wall off of the freeway. My friend took me to lunch and as we were driving up, I thought she was joking. The outside is a little sketchy, and I didn’t really know what to expect. Err… the inside looks the same. She told me they supposedly have the«best burgers» in Texas. Okay, okay. As a self proclaimed«burger guru,» I was highly critical and had high hopes… only to be disappointed. The folks at the counter & in the kitchen were very nice. They did not get my order right, but it was correctly quickly-no issue. It kinda felt like I was eating in my granny’s kitchen back in Mississippi: hospitality at it’s best! They don’t have fries, which is just tragic. They don’t have AC… or maybe it just wasn’t working while we were there. We opted to eat indoors and were sweating! The burger was okay. I don’t think it was anything special. My friend, however, raved and raved about it. She INHALED it then said she was upset that it was gone so fast. In fact, she liked it so much that as we were leaving, she went up to the counter and praised the workers. Sorry, I didn’t get it and probably won’t return.

Want a GREAT burger. You have go to Bubba’s. I have contributed to the retirement of the owners on many occasions. As many times as I have been there, they should be able to live comfortably for the rest of their lives in Hawaii. The reason I keep going back is because the buffalo burgers are«wicked good». Cooked to your order with whatever you like between the bun with an ice cold beer to boot. You just can’t get any better. Ok, maybe you can but as far as taste goes, this place has to be in the top 10 of burger places that I have ever been to. Don’t go expecting the comfort of some high end designer burger joint. The building is very basic with mostly outdoor seating. Who cares? The magic comes with the first bite and continues until the last. Who needs desert? The burger IS desert. If you are lucky enough, you may catch a concert there. Check the web site and you can find the history of Bubba“s.

Small tucked away spot on Westpark that gives some great burgers. I honestly enjoy this place for its buffalo burger. The meat tastes fresh and goes down like my mom made the burger. Good price, good food… but they don’t serve fries. So if you are looking for a typical burger amd fry joint, this isn’t it. But the burgers make up for all of the sides they don’t have. Promise.

Ok so the more and more I eat at different places especially for burgers the more I’m starting to realize that there is no one«best» burger place. In my opinion there are a couple of places that can share that title and this place is one of them. The restaurant itself is small and can sometimes be crowded so it’s better to take it to go or eat in your car if you aren’t a messy eater. Price: It’s pretty cheap even if you get buffalo instead of beef. Taste: Amazing. Nothing more needs to be said. My favorite burger here is the Vegas burger(however it can get messy so take that into account) and the regular hamburger. I have yet to try the hotdogs but I’m sure they’ll be just as good. The bread they use for their burgers is really good as well. Definitely one of the best burger spots in Houston.

So I was in Houston for the first time ever and went to my trusty sidekick Unilocal for restaurants nearby. I do not like to visit chain establishments when I travel so when I saw Bubba’s I was immediately intrigued. This place lives up to the name of shack. Situated underneath and overpass and next to the freeway amongst the weeds is Bubba’s. Most would drive right on by for fear of food born illness… No seriously! I took the risk and order a buffalo burger. The burger was very moist and flavorful with juices dripping out of every bite. The seasoning applied almost created a crust which was a great surprise from the outside appearance. The drawbacks… Value to quality. While the burger was good in my semi-professional opinion it does not warrant the price tag. The atmosphere while fun also does not warrant the price tag, it’s loud under the freeway, picnic tables, paper towels for napkins and baskets for plates. Don’t get me wrong I would go back and try something else but for the money it’s not the best spend.

Just finished stuffing my face here. They have a small inside section as well as a patio area. We chose to sit inside, but the weather is nice enough to dine outside too! The burgers here are YUM! Great portions, great prices, and amazing taste! Their staff is really nice too! All their burgers have fresh lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. Here’s what I got; Buffalo Chili Cheeseburger: the chili was SO good that I was tempted to order an extra cup of it if I wasn’t so full by the time I devoured this burger… Jalapeño Potato Salad: I actually hate potato salads… I LOVE potatoes, but I’m not usually too fond of potato salads. But theirs is SOO delicious. Packed with flavor, and I loved it so much that I told my boyfriend he had to get his own because I wasn’t sharing. Lol. My boyfriend got the Buffalo Burger and finished it before I could even ask him how it was. He also got the ¼ lb. Buffalo Hot Dog and he told he that was really goooood. So basically, everything is yummy. Just order it all.

To end any confusion, Bubba’s Texas Burger Shack is truly a SHACK. Also, to end any confusion, Bubba’s Texas Burger Shack is truly the best burger place in town. There really are just 2 things I look for when rating a restaurant, is the food good, and does the food match the name. Yes the food is amazing, and yes it’s a shack underneath the highway in Texas who serves burgers. If they were to have a speciality, I would say it’s their Buffalo Cheeseburger with a side of jalapeño potato salad. If it were my last meal, I’d get their Vegas buffalo burger, with avocado, bacon, pepper jack cheese, extra mayo and a fried egg on top. As much as I love the authenticity of the shack, I would feel better coming here if it was more updated and cleaner. The parking lot is the side of the road, all dirt(don’t take the Benz), and the seating is old picnic tables and a yard sale of miscellaneous chairs. I love the old rustic feel inside, but don’t take your snob nosed friends here. We’re talking grandpa’s old junk shack garage experience, no lie. I will take every visiter I host here, because it’s all about good food in an authentic environment. Well done, Bubba!(actually, make that medium rare…)

Once again, I’ve had a terrific experience that would not have been possible without Unilocal! Bubbas is a really unique place to have a meal. I’m a big fan of buffalo burgers, and decided to try to find one in Houston tonight(I’m here on business) The whole roadside Café aspect is really cool, and the staff and patrons are really friendly. It was really fun to sit outside, feel the breeze, listen to the traffic, and enjoy my meal. The taste is incredibly delicious, fresh meat, fresh lettuce, fresh everything. The burger has just a little bit of spice to it which lingers in your mouth after you’ve completed your meal. It’s a shame that I don’t live in the area, because I probably would be back within a week for round two. Highly recommended!

Okay yes I’m a dyed in the wool Mytiburger guy(I live in Oak Forest) but this place rocks. Total dive, totally cool, excellent food. Yes it’s a shack, yes it’s under the westpark tollway just north of the new Microcenter. Yes you need to get the buffalo burger(medium), then go wild with the toppings they’re excellent. Also get the potato salad, some of the best I’ve ever had, it’s amazing. If you like spicy try their hot sauce, it’s clearly homemade, and packs a real punch. Loved the people, friendly, fast, and helpful. This is a Texas gem, I hope it never changes anything(other than maybe some new bathrooms). Thanks Bubba’s for being there.

I use my «how fast do I get hungry after eating» as an indicator of what’s «clean» and what isn’t. Considering I ate this only 2 – 3 hours ago and I’m already starving, this place passes the«clean» test for me! I didn’t think it was possible to eat such a juicy burger and not feel entirely too guilty about it. I ordered the Mushroom Jack Buffalo Burger(4⁄5) — juicy with full taste and flavor. Delicious delicious! Each burger comes with tomatoes, onions, pickles, mayo, mustard, and lettuce. I opted out of the mayo and it was still really juicy and flavorful. There are add-ons available, like fried eggs, avocados, special pickles(?), etc., for a small price. I’d definitely recommend this place to those who are looking for a «healthier» burger alternative. Be sure to stop by some other burger place for fries though.
