Terrible service. Cold over cooked food. Small portion. Cook was out front smoking and didn’t wash his hands when he came in. Expensive Not crowded. Finally got bill. Had to walk payment to wait staff. Took forever but they returned credit card and receipt with no pen. I Had to find one at the hostess stand Bc wait staff did not do their job.

We were next door and wanted to try a place we haven’t been to for lunch and so Cabo grill was this week’s pick. Environment — Feel of a place definitely plays in how I will enjoy the food and already stepping into the restaurant it was humid and stuffy. They seat us in a booth and already my foot slipped on something under the table. I looked under to find water and as well in the crevices of the booth. I couldn’t sit back and felt dirty just sitting there. Service — Took awhile to even have someone come over to take our order in which we had enough time to pick out our lunch without any drinks to sip while we chatted. The waiter obviously was feeling the humidity as well because I could see sweat beading off his forehead. He informed us that someone had called in so they were understaffed. So perhaps service is not at their top today. Food — since they are Cabo grill with fish & tacos listed after their name on the window I figured they couldn’t go wrong with fish tacos. Well, they had an option for two tacos and a soup or salad but when we were ordering we were told we can’t mix and match so me and my friend decided to get a plate of each to try different tacos. We got fish and pulled pork tacos and for soup we tried the two most popular according to the server, jalapeño soup and gumbo. Let’s start with the soups: gumbo is actually good and hearty without overdoing on the rice & the jalapeño soup was a bit more disappointing tasting like a watered down clam chowder soup with no clams and added veggies with a hint of jalapenos. The tacos: when we got our dish we questioned if it was pork because it looked like chunks of chicken but we were told it was pork even though the order is supposed to be pulled pork. I’ve had a fair share of pulled pork tacos to tell you noone will agree chunks of poorly cut pale grilled pork is actually pulled pork… nonetheless we tried their«pulled pork» and it wasn’t too bad and tasted like eating a typical fish taco but with pork instead. Now the fish taco on the hand doesn’t taste like any kind of fish taco I’ve had being bland in flavor and too much monterey jack cheese overwhelming the whole taco. Maybe their kitchen wasn’t up to par today as well, I don’t know. For a $ 12 lunch with food you can get elsewhere with more satisfying flavors, like Berryhills in the same strip, I could have more food for the same price and be full. With other choices available, I won’t be coming back.

Perhaps today(2÷10÷15) was not their day to be open for lunch. The waitstaff was very friendly, but lacked any conviction or direction. No mgr was nearby and it seemed that the cook quit during the lunch hour. Took 1.5 hour to get a grilled Ck Salad, bowl of Red Beans and Rice, and a Shrimp Po Boy. Will not go back.

My wife and I visited when it was the Fish City Grill several times and thought it was good in and out place with decent food for a quick dinner. We visited last night and it was about the same. the menu was a bit confusing but better selections than the last. The food was good not great. We had a cocktail, soup, dinner(fish tacos) and dessert, tried the full course and was ok. Service was cool no issues there. There maybe two or three other guest dining pretty empty but was okay with us. Overall I would recommend and visit again.

The food here is awesome! Hushpupies are sweet and full of corn. The welcomed me with a free tasting of every soup they have, witch were all good. You can’t go somewhere trying to compare it to a past place. I read all the reviews and still went in to go d a relaxing clean setting, nice wait, staff, stong frozen margaritas(that had me and my friend drunck buy the second one and great food. I had the Mac and Cheese pasta and my friend had the grilled Mahi Mahi both were great in taste and we split everything. Worth trying out and going back to taste their other plates.

6pm the place was empty, one table of 2 unsuspecting people. Service was meek, slow and poor. We started with a cup of «roasted vegetable» soup, 3oz in size for $ 4.50, straight from a can. I mean straight from the can. I ordered a pan seared Mahi Mahi which arrived cold and unmistakable frozen, tiny, dry, and covered with black pepper perhaps to mask the fishy taste. The mashed potatoes were cold and uneatable and the side of veggie was let’s just say I didn’t eat them. A most unforgettable lesson is not to ever go back there again for dinner. I give this pace a ZERO in all caps.

My wife and I went by on Wednesday, 12÷03÷14, to get the Oyster Nachos, which are a special every Wednesday. They are always so good. We ordered two orders of the oyster nachos. After finishing them we decided to order the 3 fried shrimp taco’s. These shrimp taco’s are the best we have ever had. The wait staff also check by several times to see if we needed anything. He filled our tea up more than 3 times. The atmosphere is great, service great, and the food is excellent. On Sunday when you bring in your church bulletin, you get 10 per cent off. We will make Cabo a weekly, if not more, stop.

Nothing to write home about. Food was ok. They got our order wrong and my potatoes were overlooked and burned sticking to my plate. Also very hot. They also got our Order wrong twice.

I had the fried catfish and cheese grits. The food was great! Our server was young and a little slow, but the food made up for it.

Was much better when this place was Fish City Market. Food and service quality has gone downhill. They are understaffed — one waitress working inside and outside, resulting in slow service. Fish was good but fries undercooked and clearly previously frozen. Staff seems unfamiliar with own menu. Although the staff is friendly, they need to step it up, to remain in business.

Wife and I stopped for lunch on Saturday. Service was was prompt and friendly. The blackened catfish and shrimp were outstanding; wife’s ½ lb burger was decent with some very nice crisp brown fries. Over all real nice.

OMG. Changing the name did not change the terrible service which is only over shadowed by the atrocious food. The frozen fried shrimp from Cosco are better than the dry over cooked frozen fried shrimp I was served at this establishment. My wife had to send back her salmon which was RAW. She did not want sushi! Her second then over cooked fish was brought 10 minutes after I finished eating as much as I could tolerate. Service was pretty bad but she at least tried. Bless her sole it just is not a career she should remain in. Eat anywhere else!!!

We tried this restaurant for Sunday lunch and were more than pleasantly surprised. We parked with ease in the spacious parking lot. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is a full bar. We were greeted and warmly and seated promptly. Our server was most attentive, speaking with us about the restaurant and its menu. She made several helpful suggestions and was most knowledgeable about the offerings and specials. We were most impressed with the fact that we could adjust menu items according to our desires and tastes. We were served a sampling of their many delicious soups and chowder. The clam chowder was fabulous so we ordered it along with two different fish entrees. The food was prepared to perfection and the entire meal was a flavor fest. It’s location is most convenient so it will be one of our favorite restaurants in the future. We can’t wait to try the shrimp and grits. We love fresh fish so we will be returning soon to enjoy that as well. Apparently the deserts are exquisite so we will also try it for late night desert and coffee.

I came in today for a quick lunch(with a positive outlook since I like Fish City Grill). I walked in and there was definitely an odd smell that wasn’t seafood(run off from the nail salon?). Anyways, I got the Oyster Nachos since they were on special and was dumbfounded when they appeared on Tostitos nacho chips. Calling the waiter over, I questioned the reason. .. I’m not going to criticize him, but I’m sure Cabo management doesn’t really care to interact with customers, so they send someone to speak with you who may not be prepared. I wouldn’t visit as is. .. the food was actually pretty all alright, but t the sich just isn’t worth it.

The restaurant recently changed from Fish City Grill to Cabo Grill. Menu is similar but some of my favorites are gone. Seemed a little below par, but maybe they will work the kinks out with some time. Not up to the standard of Fish City Grill.
