This place was recommended to my by my fiancé and I must say that I was not disappointed. The food here is awesome!

Conveniently grabbed lunch here while waiting for my car to be serviced across the street. Had the Rustica Chicken sandwich and it was tasty.

I love Café Express for lunch. It is always very quick and great food. The things I love here are the Shrimp and Avacado salad. The dressing is this honey mustard dressing and is very yummy. Last week I wanted something different so I tried the chicken salad sandwich and asked for it on a croissant. It tasted good but the amount of chicken salad they give you is NOTHING. I left there starving and ended up eating after I left there. The veggie burger and the sweet potato fries are also very good.

Very bad smell in the restaurant. I understand side work and cleaning needs to get done. However, at 9 pm when the restaurant is still open for an hour … I could smell soap throughout the restaurant. The floors were already being mopped while food is being prepared in the kitchen. Just gross. I also don’t like the fact that I am eating and the floors are being swept constantly next to the tables I am sitting at. Just gross. Small portions. The female GM is simply not pleasant and does not ecxemplify the GM standards that are at other Houston locations. I don’t plan on returning to this location, I hope corporate sees this.

I love Café Express. This location is a nice, clean restaurant located within walking distance of the Greenway business district. I stopped in here before an interview and grabbed an iced tea, and a plate of hummus. For $ 7, I had a wonderful snack to calm my pre-interview jitters. They offer a wide variety of condiments(infused oils, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, and olives) to add to your meal. For my ice tea, I put a few mint leaves from the condiments bar in my drink to give it a refreshing flavor. My dirty secret: I always steal a couple things of their packaged breadsticks to munch on as snacks for later! All in all, great spot for a quick bite to eat. Love their fresh ingredients, definitely recommend to all.

Good place but don’t come here for the wifi. It is the worst that I’ve come across in Houston. I get much faster response over my cellular data connection. Aside from that, the food is always good, the restaurant and restrooms are clean and the staff is friendly. I do come here often and would really like to see the wifi issue resolved. Update: wifi seems to work much better now

I always enjoy eating outside on the patio at this location. The patio is always clean when I go there. My food comes out fast. On Thursday night they have game night at this location. I’ve seen all kinds of games that I have never tried, but it looks interesting and the people are weird but friendly who come on those nights.

I love all things Café Express. Very good! Came to this location for a game night. Realized it was next door to a Tiff’s Treats. SCORE1FORAUSTIN :)

I hate the location because of all the traffic off the highway. But they have muh blackcurrant iced tea for non-alcoholic daytime drinking related purposes. It’s pretty average for a Café Express which is what they were going for as a chain. The girls behind the counter are relatively polite unlike some of the rude ignorasauruses manning the Whataburger on the other side of the highway. But the tables in the inside dining area are not regularly cleaned, there are always several that need a good wiping down and a removal of used plates or silverware or whatnot. The tables on the outside patio fare better right now since it is summer and nobody in their right mind would be out there at lunch — unless they are Tholian, in which case, we distrust them instantly.

Had the«Grilled«chicken salad a few weeks ago and nearly broke a tooth after I bit into a small«olive with the seed intact»(hate when that happens) — Come on Café Express!!! … What are you doing?? Took the plunge again today, same order — lettuce was awful and very low grade, chicken was soggy and mediocre, crutons were harder than little rocks. This used to be one of my favorite salads, and always reliable. How do you screw up a simple Grilled Chicken Salad? Management needs to re-evaluate what’s going on.

Previously had a not so good experience at the Greenway location, and I told management I was willing to give it another try Rather than taking a chance for the same experience, I decided to dine at the W. Gray St location. Service was excellent, grilled chicken with ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes and green beans were very delicious. My husband is not a fan of Café Express, and he was impressed with their grilled chicken, and veggie entrée. He really enjoyed the complimentary fixings, which added more flavor to his entrée. I definitely recommend Café Express, but at the W. Gray St location

American classics with a few Mediterranean add-ons. I have eaten everything on the menu at one point or another. Although I’m not mad at anything on this menu, you won’t be blown away. Depending on what time you get there, the dining room can be busy. Some nights you’ll see people with multiple tables pushed together playing board games. You might see business people using the side conference room, laptops open throughout the restaurant. Staffers are awesome. If you order water, be sure to add fresh mint leaves from the condiment station. Chow

I always knew it was a little expensive; however, you don’t have to pay a server or tip. This time I ordered pasta and was very disappointed with the serving size. I ordered Fetuccini Alfredo to which I added chicken for $ 13. I got the bowl which wasn’t even half full and was barely covered with sauce. The extras bar is cool but I would rather pay a little less and get a average sized serving. I will probably think twice before going to C.E. again.

Had lunch here today with the family. The food is standard menu and you will not be disappointed in what is offered. The crowd is very Lakewood — not a bad thing — just an observation.

First time there. Had blue cheese burger($ 10.99) and chips&guacamole($ 4.99). Guacamole was good. Burger patty was big but very dry and pretty flavorless. Blue cheese and nice bun saved the burger. French fried were decent but not freshly cut/made. Overall just ok. P. S. Noticed some people eating salads and those salads looked freaking HUGE.

I like Café Express’ offerings, and the big bonus is that they are open late, and aren’t greasy fast food. To be honest, I mostly come here during the later hours. They’re usually pretty quick, but I did have one experience where I felt like I was waiting forever for a sandwich. I’ve ordered a variety of things: salad, pasta, sandwiches. Most things are pretty good, and I feel like there is something for everyone, which makes it a good place for meetings or to cater meetings. And you order at the counter, which is also good if you’re meeting up with folks. I really like their add-on bar, with all kinds of pickled things and sauces. My other minor complaint is that they have some neat sounding iced teas, but the couple times I’ve had them they have been bitter, like they were oversteeped.

It’s close to my house, good and the prices are reasonable. My only complaint is they changed from Coke to Pepsi.

This is a very small Café Express. I think they should of made it bigger for a bigger crowd, because of it being in the Greenway area and being close to the biggest church in the nation. I am sure this place gets packed on the weekends and during lunch time. When I went there, there was hardly anyone there. I ordered my food through the phone to pick it up, and it was ready In 8 minutes not bad. The lady who took my order had a really heavy accent but you can understand her and she got the order right and that is what’s important. When I arrived I told them my name and they gave me my order nice and ready to eat. My favorite meal there is the soup and salad combo. I choose potato soup and Ceasar salad, and my favorite is the garlic bread yum. I will probably come here again to check it out some more.

This is by far my least favorite Café Express. The only redeeming quality is the enclosed patio area. The order area is awkward with a wall that goes right through the center, and to get to the salad fixin’s, you have to squeeze between tables which are too close to the drink and salad toppings bar area. Awkward is the only word I have for it. Also, I ordered a soup and sandwich combo. I chose a chicken breast sandwich and received chicken salad. Big difference. Then I was told that they didn’t offer the chicken breast with that combo. I wish I had been told when I was ordering. I made sure to mention it twice to the order taker and told her that I was wanting a hot sandwich, but she just didn’t get it or didn’t care. Bad service.
