Read reviews for this place and had to stop and get some brisket and ribs on my way out of town. The meat was amazing. It was so tender and the sauce is great. Will definitely be back

Great BBQ! Visited after landing in Houston. Lots of options! The smell inside can be intense! We smelled like smoke the rest of the day; however, small price to pay for good BBQ!

Go! Great food… was going through town… Somehow the owner/operator found out… Came to table… Welcomed us. Gave us «free» T-shirt… If back in town… Will go back! Home feel… real people… great food.

My airline used to use the hotel next door to overnight us when we operated out of Hobby. CTB was the first place where I ate real Texas Brisket! I’ve been searching for brisket that good ever since. I live in SC and we have a lot of pork BBQ but most places don’t even try to do brisket. The ones that do make it look and taste like cheap cafeteria roast beef. I have started smoking some myself in the backyard and my goal is always to strive to get it to taste like theirs. If you are ever in the area, this is thee best place for REALTEXASBRISKET! You will not be disappointed.

This place has great BBQ this sides are good as well. The line can be a little long but it moves very quickly. For a first timer it can be a little difficult to figure out where it is because it is hidden in a corner behind other places. It is well worth your time to stop in and eat.

A real hidden gem. The best BBQ around. I love this place and can’t believe it’s right in my neighborhood. It’s not a real BBQ spot if they don’t have peach cobbler and this spot has the best peach cobbler!

Needed to grab something to eat with a friend who was dropping me off at the airport and stopped here. Place was full of airport workers and postal workers, a good sign already. It got the sliced brisket sandwich and the broccoli rice side. Didn’t need the side after I saw the size of the sandwich — cut from the brisket as I ordered. It was quick, since cafeteria style, and the food was superb.

BBQ was average. Line was extremely long for lunch, probably due to lack of BBQ places in this area. Entire place smelled like smoke and our clothes did for hours after we left. Need to control the smoke a little better and I would have given 4 stars.

Top notch BBQ. Long line but moved fast and well worth it. Great sides — highly recommend the broccoli rice.

I think I would rate Central a 4.6 if that were an option. I’m out at Hobby Airport about once a week on average and this has become by far my favorite stop for lunch in the area. Sadly they are not open weekends or for dinner so I can’t stop in every time I am here. They are in one of those ugly none-descript strip centers that you find all over this part of town. You can easily miss it if you are not looking. Its across from Hobby Airport behind a Jack-in-the Box. I have been here twice. The minute you step in you are greeted with a great smoky smell that says good ‘que. On my first visit I ordered the one-meat special with two sides and sliced brisket. The sides were average to good.(Who are we kidding — I don’t care about the sides.) The brisket, however, was one of the Best that I have ever had!!! Just the right amount of smoky goodness and tender and moist. In short — just the way I like it. The sauce is on the sweet side and not that great but you don’t really need it anyway. On my second visit I did my typical test sample of a ¼ pound each of ribs(pork in this case), brisket and sausage. On this occasion the ribs and brisket both had a satisfying smoke flavor and were tender and moist on the inside. Unfortunately the outsides were slightly burned and tough. Also, I think that next time I will pass on the sausage. It was OK, but nothing special. This fine-to-medium ground sausage is very similar to what you can get at the grocery store. Give it a try if you are in the neighborhood — for lunch — but not on weekends because they are closed those days…

Well I was stunned when I walked up and the line was out the door. Made it through a fast pasted buffet kinda line 2 meat combo with brisket and sausage 2 sides beans and rice I added the coleslaw and tea 15.00 The sausage was average and the beans where Just ok I do not like sausage in my beans personally. Slaw was great but when I tried my first byte of brisket CABAM!!! Very very soft and tender with a great taste and flavor 5 stars on the brisket. To me the sauce was a little runny but a great flavor. Place is clean old style BBQ joint with friendly people. Enjoyed the golf on the flat screen and the motocross trophy a on the walls. I will be back for sure!!!

Straight from the airport to this restaurant, which happened to be recommended by one of the shuttle drivers. Excellent! BBQ was thee best I had in Texas, days later we were still talking about it. The service was awesome as well as the prices. The owner knew we were from New Jersey and I mentioned how I wanted to bring my mother some of his delicious tasting food. He offered to meet me back here early Monday morning prior to us leaving but our flight just left waaayyy too early for that to happen. If you’re in the Houston area make sure you stop at this place… your taste buds will thank you!!!

I’ve been going here off and on for about a year and a half, and I keep coming back. The staff is wonderful. Everyone is very friendly and will let you know they remember you if you keep coming back. They give huge portions of everything, which is good because the prices are moderate(for this type of place). I’ve had them randomly decide to give me a whole potato for the price of a half on lots of occasions, just because they’re awesome. You can get a gigantic baked potato with a few toppings for about $ 11, but I’m serious when I say the potatoes are HUGE. I’m miserably full if I eat even half of one, without meat. With meat, I can barely eat ¼ of it. I pretty much always order a potato, but occasionally I’ll order some plain chicken and I’ve ordered the chopped beef sammich a few times. I’m very picky about my meat and do not like any fatty parts, so I’m not a big fan of chopped beef in general. The only reason I sometime order it here is because the flavor is great, but I still hate picking around all of that fat(to be fair, like I said, this isn’t my fav type of meat cut). I had the pulled pork once or twice as well and it was also good. I get the grilled chicken chopped up and I have mixed feelings about it. Sometimes it’s really good and not too wet(I prefer my chicken on the drier side), but sometimes it’s too dry and sometimes it seems barely cooked enough to eat it’s so wet and gummy. I tend to steer clear of the chicken now. I’ve also gotten the sliced turkey before and it’s pretty yummy. The flavor is good and it’s always a pretty good cut of meat. Now, let me tell you, the sides here are pretty delicious. My favorite part is usually whatever side I got. I usually got the green beans, sometimes the collard greens or the carrots. The collards are usually tasty(a bit salty) but the carrots are a bit bland. The sweet potatoes are tasty but sometimes the brown sugar stuff they’re coated in is kind of gross and thick. The macaroni and cheese is amaaaaazing, sure yummy and cheesy. It has that almost white cheese that’s the perfect consistency(not too runny, not too thick). They also have super yummy sweet tea, though you’d best do half sweet and half un-sweet if you don’t like super super sweet tea, because it must have had about a pound of sugar added to it. Overall, this may not be the best bbq ever, but with the combo of pretty good food, great service and huge portions, you shouldn’t be disappointed.

I have been to this location two times. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is really casual and comfortable, and the staff is friendly. This place is also great for larger groups. They have a lot of big tables.

Popped in for some take-away proteins. Although the line of sides at the counter looked good, I just got a take-away ala carte order of 2 meats for $ 11.85. I ordered the ribs and brisket. Both were well cooked, moist, and full of yummy, smokey flavor. The staff was great too. Very nice and friendly. There was ample seating for large groups, and a big screen TV mounted up high. Although I just got a grab ‘n go, it’d be a nice place for a group lunch. It doesn’t look too appealing from the outside, situated in the back of a run down, pretty much empty strip mall, but once you walk through the doors, it’s quite nice.

Quite a find next to Houston Hobby airport! Great BBQ, I had sliced brisket and it was tender, had awesome flavor, and came with a couple of yummy sides as well. It’s a little smoky(from the food, not cigarettes) inside, so be prepared to come out of the restaurant smelling like BBQ for the rest of the day, but a small price to pay for the quality of the food.

Ok, I just want to say that this baked potato will feed a family of 10, let alone myself only. I ordered my chopped brisket baked potato to go, so I don’t have much to say about the restaurant. The baked potato is good, nothing special but the amount of meat they give is absurd!(Pic attached) I will come back and try their meat lunch specials and baked potato whenever I crave for it. Overall, the food meet the standards for my return. Will update once I try their meat dishes.
