A year ago this would have easily earned 3 – 4 stars for lunch. We were visiting this location 3 – 6 times a month. Unfortunately it has gone rapidly downhill. Quality of food has decreased. Not enough employees and cleanliness is lacking. The salt and pepper shakers are grimy. Sadly, we can’t stomach the thought of eating at this location anymore. It is even making me think twice about visiting their other locations. China Inn Café, get your act together!

So despite the negative reviews I decided to give it a try mainly bc they deliver, well if your thinking the same DON’T The lady on the phone was very nice that’s the only positive I have for this place, the crab rangoons are fried cream cheese and nothing else, I also had general tso chicken, I’m not sure how something drenched in sauce can be sooooooooo dry but it was, sauce was terrible, fried rice was a joke I think they just tossed some soy sauce in steamed rice to give it a brown tint. We won’t try this place again

Ordered takeout from here and it kind of surprised me because when I called they said my entire order would be ready in 10 minutes. That’s insanely fast for fresh food. Now I know why, when I got home my rice was really crunchy. It felt really dry and over heated. The pork in my rice was super dry. The meat in our lo mein was rubbery. The sauce in our chicken and cashews had a really strong flavor that was unlike what we’re used to from other places. The only thing I enjoyed was my eggroll, however my family didn’t like them. I was pretty disappointed in the quality of food.

I decided to give this place another try after my last experience. I was dining with friends and one wanted sweet and sour chicken. The one thing I used to count on was that they fried their dishes when ordered. Unfortunately, that is no longer true. The order received was obviously pre-cooked and either put in a microwave or heat lamp. My chicken corn soup had three specks of chicken and about 8 kernels of corn. We all agreed that this was comparable to buffet food or even worse. Not that I am against Chinese buffets, but when you expect fresh-made food instead of foods that taste like it came from a stream table, it disappoints me. There were only a couple of tables occupied when we went for lunch, so I am not the only one who noticed the drop in quality. What a shame. As a former regular who used to eat here at least twice a week, it is sad to see that they just don’t care anymore. I may return in about 6 more months just to order from my favorite waiter Johnson and hope they either fire the cook or get a new manager who oversees the quality of the ingredients and food that leaves the kitchen.

I feel the food there has improved and it’s delicious. I always enjoyed the food and the service there however the last time I ate there I asked for a refill diet coke to go and the manager or whoever she is started screaming at the waiter for doing that. She spoke Chinese but I figured out why she was screaming? I think that is so unprofessional of her to scream so loud in front of customers. It made me feel very uncomfortable with the atmosphere. It’s pretty sad they wonder why they are losing their customers. I apologized to her for even asking for a diet coke to go, keep you damn diet coke please but I felt so bad for the waiter. I am not going back there anymore.

My dining experience here was pretty awful, the second most awful dining experience I’ve ever had. Just make sure you look over all the dishes before you eat or drink from them. Every glass had unknown particles floating in them, they were taken away, handwashed(except for mine, apparently ALL drinks was misinterpreted) and returned with different drinks than what was ordered, brought back again, this time with good particles in the ice cubes!!! We felt as though we were imposing by simply wanting to eat, unfriendly, forgetful and unhelpful service. After all of this we still paid full price which by this point seemed like a million dollars, too much for this experience. I’m an extremely patient and understanding person but I just couldn’t accept this. The food was mediocre, will not be returning to this establishment.

I’ve tried a few of the Americanized Chinese restaurants in the area, and this one has been a step above the rest for sure. We have only ever gotten take-out from here. The only things I remember are the Chicken with Garlic Sauce — not a fan because I don’t like those shredded mushrooms, the Hunan Chicken — my favorite because it has straw mushrooms, War Wonton Soup — lots of veggies, chicken, shrimp, beef — I can eat the whole serving even though it’s «for two» although I dislike how overcooked the beef gets in the hot broth. The only difference between the egg rolls and spring rolls is that the egg rolls are pork and the spring rolls are chicken and have a thinner skin. The regular wonton soup is on par with most other restaurants’. I feel like it’s reasonably priced, but I’ve noticed the prices creeping up every time they give me a new menu with my takeout order. For takeout Chinese, it’s not incredible, but it’s decent.

The wait staff is always pleasant and courteous. The food is decent, but make sure you ask about just how spicy things are if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing. The food seems to be prepared fresh and the price is good for the quality.

Their food is horrible. I ordered three entrees for take out. Had I eaten there, I would have insisted the food be taken back. I will never eat here again and recommend you consider this post before you do.

This place really is decent. The food has always been pretty good every time I’ve gone. It’s no PF Chang’s, but if you want cheap, good Chinese food… this is the place.

The food was just ok at best, it really did taste bland. It’s rather quiet here though. The prices are a tad much in my opinion compared to other Chinese places I’ve been to.

Ordered for the first time by phone for delivery off of a menu received in the mail. On the positive side, the food arrived super fast and the delivery driver was extremely friendly. The negative is that the food was mediocre at best – edible, not horrible, but nothing I would repeat. My daughter’s sweet and sour chicken arrived soggy and lukewarm. The«spicy» chicken wing that came with the $ 12.95 «Family Dinner» plate for 1 was properly cooked – crispy and hot – but lacked flavor and definitely no heat. Ditto for the Hunan Shrimp – no spice. I would say that the dishes were under seasoned, but that would imply that they were seasoned at all. The worst offender of the bunch was the«fried rice.» Basically white rice colored with soy sauce. It was bland, unseasoned and without egg, meat or vegetables. Again, plain white rice with a soy splash. It was also waaaaaay undercooked – crunchy and bordering on inedible. The crispy spring roll was disgusting. On a couple of positive notes, the two soups – Hot and Sour and Wonton – were flavorful and the restaurant did include a container, albeit a small one, of genuine hot mustard(as opposed to that sweet stuff in packets that most places send with delivery orders.) The mustard came in handy in re-mediating the otherwise bland dishes. All in all, not a bad place to eat if all other Chinese restaurants in the area were to burn down tomorrow. Otherwise, I won’t be reordering. I was tempted to shred the menu, but opted for a warning, «DONOTORDERFROMHERE» emblazoned across the front in black Sharpie ink to serve as a constant reminder in the future.

Forgive me b/c i eat the same things nearly everywhere i go which is everything! Unbeknownst to me this place has one small thing missing keeping it from being utterly awesome. There are several place who serve wonton & mein soup better, i’ve also had the best egg rolls but not from here. Orange chicken, beef, kung pau, sweet & sour, shrimp, crab, & anything spicy is suitable when served but it’s nothing to run toward. Some days my wife & i can’t decide what to have for lunch or dinner – budget permitting – we can choose to eat here & not think twice about it. Even to-go is fast & fresh, & i have a collection of all their containers that i use to package my lunch during the week. It’s always clean and the service is, once again, fast, and best of all it’s fairly priced. Sizeable portions fill you up, but they don’t have a signature dish that i fervently seek when dining out.

Horrible food. The lo mein noodles has the texture of spaghetti; they’re supposed to be soft noodles. It’s ridiculous and owned by Asians and they can’t cook to save their lives. The fried foods are terrible. Meat is tasteless. Fried rice is tasteless. BEWARE –NEVEREATHERE.

Not much to say about this place. Although I got a great price on my sweet & sour chicken combination platter($ 9.18 with tax, if I recall correctly), the dish was ok just satisfying(Typical American Chinese food) «the best thing, no msg». While they did give me large portions, the Chinese food just cannot compete with restaurants like Fungs Kitchen, but it’s close to home… The inside is small and medium… they were fairly empty, which could be a sign of a bad experience. 5 – 7 people @ 6:45 — 7:30PM The service was prompt, which is to be expected, since no one was there eating. The food looked good, and it wasn’t bad — it just wasn’t outstanding. Mostly things were just a bit too heavy on the sauce — there was a nice light sauce on one of the chicken servings, but it was lacking in flavor.

This place has so-so food. Their entrees are kind of bland though. I always have to salt my fried rice. I mainly go there for the fried wontons they give you when you sit down, the delicious egg drop soup and the one crab wonton that comes with the meal. The ambience is small but always clean and nicely decorated. The people that work there are very friendly and attentive. You will get your food super quick!

I disagree with Tour, China Inn Café is my favorite. Nice size portions, and they DELIVER! $ 12 min. on delivery not so bad. General Tso Chicken is how I rate a chinese restraunt, and theirs is AMAZING. Not to sweet and but defiantly has a spicy kick to it. I have China Inn Café on speedail. ;)

This China Inn Café location is strictly ok. We got hooked at another location in Cypress and tried out this location, hoping to save the time it takes to travel to the further location, which we looove. The Jones Rd. location is 2 stars IMO. My mom thinks it’s the worst Chinese she’s ever had. I told her I’ve had worse, but only because I’ve eaten at a Chinese buffet. The dumplings weren’t fresh and the lo mein tasted like it had a LOT of fish oil in it, or some other oil. I think this might be a new location for them, and it’s a bad location; it isn’t easy to see from Jones Rd. We might be rating this more harshly because in comparison we’re GAGA over the Cypress location; it’s our new favorite since Pearl River’s ownership changed hands.
