China Star Buffet

Came here New Year’s Day after a super massive hangover hoping to cure it with some greasy Chinese food. Since it was a major holiday and let’s face it, who the hell wants to work on holiday anyway, my expectation were nearly non-​existent.
The buffet was smaller than average. Food mediocre as expected for the price. Service unremarkable. Of all honesty, couldn’t say I hated it, could definitely say I didn’t love it. Not sure if I’d come back again. Probably not.
Got what I expected– which again, was nothing.

This place is nice and clean. The food is pretty good. I love the chicken wings and sushi, so delicious. The price is reasonable. Weekend is pack, we have to wait for seats. Weekend they have crawfish and crabs all day. Love this place. I’ll come back again

I met a woman at my job and i was so impressed with her professionalism and her excitement about her job working at the China Star that i had to go and check it out. I am a lover and wanted all i could eat. Found the right place! They habr a good selection and the sushi is definitley fresh. Love her and the Sush!

I have went to my share of buffets… but thus place wow!!! Inside is very clean and very nice. The food! Now the FOOD! Is amazing!!! So much to choose from. The sushi is freaking amazing!!! 10 Stars if I could. And the prices are great!!! A must go for the family!!!

Liked this buffet a lot! We usually go to China Ko on Woodforest since it is closer to work, but this one it is good on variety, price and quality. Lot of sushi food and really good too! Definitely coming back.

The food was great here… all the other times I’ve been here. Used to love stopping in here as they seem to tolerate truckers parking in the lot on the east side of the restaurant. Before they’ve always had excellent service and many options. This time was VERY different. As I came through the door there were three greeters who seemed to not want to be the one who sat me. Also, I asked for a booth and was quickly told they didn’t have one available… as we passed two vacant booths. I was sat in the back right next to the soda machines & probably the loudest place in the restaurant as well as the dirtiest, (they were dumping food within three feet of me). As I got my first plate I saw the young lady sit someone who came in after me right at the booth I’d asked for. Upon returning to «my table in the dish room» I still didn’t have a drink and as of right now, EIGHTEEN minutes later… I STILL don’t have one. I hate to waste food but at twenty minutes, I’m walking out and never coming back. Too bad but I guess it’s true, one bad experience ruins thee good ones.

The sushi here is amazing. The food is always hot and fresh. Priced reasonably. Huge selection of food. Love doing it with my family.

The food here was pretty decent for a buffet. There was a variety to choose from. It was fresh and hot. They also had kid friendly choices such as chicken nuggets and fries. That’s not the reason three star rating.
There service was horrible! It took them about 10 minutes to get us seated just because they didn’t know which one of them was taking us to our table. They argued about it in front of us and in the end it took two of them to show us our table. We weren’t allowed to use the bathroom twice because they were cleaning it. When we were done with our meal we stayed and talked maybe 10 minutes, and we were asked rudely if we were done because they had to put up their food. Scoffing, attitude, and being lazy will not get you anywhere.

I’m not usually big on buffets but while traveling we needed something quick off the interstate and easy. I think we caught the lunch price, $ 10 at 3pm on Sunday. It was crowded which I like to see at buffets because the food is rotated and fresh. They had lots of variety, hot food options, soups, sushi, dessert, etc. Most of the food was good some was okay, I would come back. Great for groups and kids too.
