Came here on a Friday night to try their $ 0.50 oyster special. We ordered 40 oysters for $ 20 and Chicken Fried Steak(3⁄5 lacked seasoning) that comes with your choice of two sides for $ 10.95. We picked sweet potato fries(4⁄5) and onion rings(5⁄5). Karaōke started at 9:15 pm. We enjoyed watching people perform while slurping down our oysters.

Went here on Wednesday bought the huge margaritas for 16 $ sweet but good, couldn’t even finish the thing. Ordered chicken fried steak with taters and onion rings. Steak was mazing, but had to take bavk the sides cause they were luke warm. New waiter so she was you know…“newy”.(not usre if that made sense) Good food, karaōke and live singers. Service could be better. 1 inute walk from the apt. will be back.

I was out with a couple of my girlfriends for a few late night drinks and was so happy I picked this bar. Our bartender Nina was the cutest sweetest bartender ever, attentive, witty and she even chilled the pickle backs for our Jameson shots! We had the wings and fries pickles, which were both delicious. The fried pickles were spears which were way more convenient than the slices that I’m used to. The music was based off the 80s music bingo which was a great concept but I much rather listen to songs full out while I’m getting drunk lol. Overall we had a great experience and I would come back to see Nina any day of the week! She was the BEST!

Service was good. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Appetizers are comparable to a low level Applebee’s. Cheese sticks, salsa, queso, nachos, jalapeño poppers are below average. Burgers are good but not great. Sides are bad. One in the Heights is better.

I went with friends after work on their Wednesday steak night, where they charge $ 1/ounce meat. This was on the condition that you also had to buy 2 drinks to get the deal. They didn’t have to be alcoholic drinks, though. My sister and I took up this deal and asked for our 12 ounce steaks to be cooked medium rare. Our order came with a side of fries and side salad. Our other two friends ordered shrimp salad and some kind of chicken dish with Mac and cheese. Our party did order their chips with salsa as we waited for our entrees to arrive. The chips were light and crispy, and the sauce that went with it was pretty good. However, our steak entrees were less than stellar. My sister got overcooked steak. I was only slightly luckier and got half medium rare and half overcooked steak. The fries and salad that came with the steaks were just ok. My sister did tell the waitress that the steak was overcooked, and she she seemed less than pleased to offer to have the cook grill another steak for her. Since my sister was too hangry to wait, she just sucked it up and ate all of her chewy steak. We ordered two rounds of root beer, and they were kinda watered down as well. I don’t think steak night is worth it at all. Our friends did enjoy their entrees thankfully. They did order alcoholic drinks, like the Moscow mule and mind eraser, which they also enjoyed. Overall, I think this bar is probably only good for the drinks, not the food. It was also supposed to be bingo night, and no one seemed to be participating. So that was a bust too. If I had a choice, Christians would probably not be the first place I think of to eat and hang out. I won’t be returning, unless it was only for drinks.

Excellent service. Excellent food. The bartender, Erin, was phenomenal. Ask for her when you decide to visit!

Worst steak night I’ve ever had. The meat was basically dog food and over cooked when we asked for medium rare. The waitress was clueless about the menu and any questions we had. Not coming back here unless I’m being forced. Plus side: 1 of the drinks we got was good, the Granny Smith cider. That’s your second star… good job.

This location is in a great location in downtown, imo, because it’s walking distance from my friend’s loft. It’s actually close to a lot of other bars in downtown so it’s really convenient to bar hop afterwards. The service was on point and we stayed for the karaōke since we were here on a Friday night. They were busy too! I’m guessing a work Christmas party was taking place so we were entertained. The dj is awesome too cause he will sing with you if your friend freezes up while you’re both singing Spice Girls. Lol. The waitresses stopped to dance as well. That’s always a good sign when the people who work there like to have fun with their guests. As for food, the oysters are fresh at this location as well, and I HIGHLY recommend the prickly pear margarita if you like sweet drinks. The alcohol content in those drinks are kind of lacking and I was not feeling them enough to want to sing again lol. I know it’s a ploy but if you want patrons to sing then make those drinks stronger!

Went to Christian’s Tailgate based on the hype about their burgers. Table service is terrible. Burgers are okay but not great. Mine was fine but my boyfriend’s «medium» burger was pretty dry. Compared to Rudyards, Brooklyn Athletic Club, and Becks, this place’s burgers are serviceable but not great.

This is usually a midtown staple for me. I try and bring a pocket full of quarters because they have a pacman/galaga machine in the corner, as well as darts and giant jenga. They have a really extensive shot menu, but it’s kind of pricey for the good ones, and the bartenders rarely shake them over ice, so they come out warm. Food is probably what keeps me coming back. I love their fish tacos, and Thursday’s tacos are $ 1, so I do damage. Last time I went for happy hour, dos Equis was out of the tap, so that was a bit disappointing. I will agree that service and wait time is on the slow side

We end up at Christian’s at least 2 – 3 times a week as it is one of our favorite bar in Midtown. It has the local bar vibe and everything on the menu is delicious. They have one of the best happy hours in the area and every day they have a different food special and some type of entertainment(bingo, karaōke, trivia). If you’re looking for a place to dress up, eat fancy food and go dancing then this isn’t the place for you. But if you’re looking for somewhere to feel comfortable, chow down on some grub and enjoy some music(which may or may not lead to dancing) then this absolutely should be a stop on your bar hopping list.

People sleep on it, but Christian’s is one of the best gems of midtown. The staff always engages and are very helpful. Typically draws an eclectic crowd, and there’s always someone interesting to meet. Ask space angel 2000(Christine the bartender) for any shot. She’s creative and will make you a work of art. A personal favorite is the«hockey fight».

My favorite bar in midtown by far. $ 1 taco night every Thursday. Cold beer, plenty of TV’s, and nice staff. What else do you need?

It’s been a month since my bad experience with my dog at this location. I’d been to couple of the other Christian’s locations recently, and have no problems whatsoever with my canine companion. I called tonight just to see if we would be welcome before we showed up. This location does not want you, if you have a dog. On a weekday night. Or anytime, best I can tell.

WORST service EVER! Came here with a group of friends for dinner and drinks during the home run derby. The place was absolutely dead but we still waited about 20 minutes before anyone came over to our table to take our drink orders. It was another half hour after we received our drinks that our waitress ‘Sammy’ came over to take our order. Almost an hour after that we got our food — all of our orders were completely messed up and they totally forgot to put in the ticket for one order leaving one of my friends without dinner. When we were asked how our meals were by Sammy she acted as if the subbing to orders & complete lack of a meal was our fault… SUPERRUDE! Perhaps she should pay more attention to her customers then play fighting/flirting with some dude at the bar. I will never be back to Christian’s and will not recommend it to others.

Met a friend after work for a drink and dinner. Good happy hour specials. I was excited to try the burger, but a beautiful woman much smarter than me once told me that if a place doesn’t ask you how you want your burger cooked, it looses points. This was the case. They didn’t ask and it was well done. Other than that I’d recommend to anyone if you’re in the area.

I’ve regularly had my burger fixes here since I started working Downtown five years ago, and I liked this place A LOT. I called in my order(Swiss mushroom burger) and asked for the fixings on the side. The lady who took my call said it didn’t come with it, but I said that’s fine, but I like having veggies on my burger. I’ve made this request in the past with no problem and paid for it. She told me it’d be ready in 10 – 15 minutes, so I walked on over to pick it up. The interaction I had with the ladies at the bar when I picked up my order was very pleasant… Or so I thought. I got back to work and saw that my burger didn’t come with the fixings, so I called to ask to be refunded for the toppings I didn’t receive. While reviewing my receipts, I see that the lovely person who input my order affectionately referred to me as «BITCH.» I mentioned how I didn’t appreciate this and that this was just rude and offensive, especially for a customer who regularly eats here(and tips on takeout). The lady I spoke with was very polite even though she said the other bartender put that on the ticket(hmm), apologized, and comped my meal. I honestly don’t care if they gave me free food(and while on this subject, I’m not looking for anyone to be fired due to a lapse in judgement; the purpose of this update is to share my experience and move on). I’m more than happy to support businesses that I frequent and love doing so! I’m just kind of hurt; this is just a really awful way to refer to and treat your customers, period. Since Christian’s Tailgate was sold to another owner a couple years ago, I got the feeling that the quality has gone downhill — but they were within walking distance to my office and still did a decent job. Unfortunately, the burger I received was dry, and the fries were very soggy and cold. Mediocre food + iffy service has me never eating here again. I guess it’s true that all good things must come to an end! PS — Go to Stanton’s instead. That’s what I should’ve done. Superb burgers, none of the drama and BS!

So, what do you do when you’ve skipped breakfast and it’s a slow Friday at the office?! You head down to Christian’s in Midtown with your coworkers to engage in fat assery at its finest, that’s what. And that’s exactly what we did. I don’t crave burgers often, but when I do, I want the best that Houston’s greasy grub has to offer. I ordered a small country-fried bacon burger(I LOVE bacon!) with fries. It was everything, too. Thick, meaty, juicy and well-seasoned. When I was a kid, I used to stick my fries and/or onion rings inside my burgers before eating them(I still do sometimes), so I’m glad that Christian’s decided to stop playing around and have this as a menu offering off top.(Bertha hates when you make her work for it – ha)! It was truly ‘hamburger heaven,’ as I once heard. And with the fries, it was well worth the price. I wouldn’t mind returning to catch a game or two, and to try their wings or one of their salads.

$ 0.50 oysters on Fridays! Can not get any better than that! They have special deals going on each day. Monday is beer pong and $ 0.50 wings. Couldn’t remember the rest. Although it took awhile for the food to come out and our server was slow, I guess it was ok since the food was good and atmosphere was great. I would come back on Fridays just for the $ 0.50 oysters!
