Clear Wireless Internet

Clear is really a rip off company, they just said great things to hook you up. After you got hook up then it is hell after that. I was a stupid to believe their sweet talk. Horrible, horrible, and horrible. Please stay away.

My gosh! Clear is worse now than when I initially had service in 2012. Customer service is horrible. They have obviously outsourced to a foreign country. Can’t understand a word they say. Stay far away from them. One excuse after another. I spoke with 4 different reps, trying to get someone I could understand.
Also, remember, if your phone has a hard time getting service inside a building, your Clear Hotspot will have trouble too. The Hotspot runs off the 4g network too.
I even spoke with one obviously foreign customer service rep who cheerfully said they don’t care about helping customers since they partnered with Sprint. What?
You’ve been warned. I wouldn’t dare sign up for Clear even if they partnered with a big mobile communication company. Worst service of any customer service I have ever had to deal with in my life. And their service blows too. Cheers!

This has to be the worst internet company on the planet!
I have had nothing but trouble with Clear since I signed up with them. I signed up for this 6 meg plan at $ 54 a month, as I not only surf the web, but watch (or try to) Netflix etc and also play Xbox live, this is not possible with clear.
Here is part of the chat transcript that just baffled me when they wrote it.
” I’m sorry that you’re seeing a slower connection than you are accustomed to. I assure you that our top priority is making sure that all of our customers have the best Internet experience possible, at all times. To do that, during times of high network congestion you may see download speeds no higher than 1.2 mbps while streaming or 500kbps while file sharing to ensure that everyone’s ability to enjoy a high-​quality internet experience.“
If they are saying that, then why are they charging me for a 6meg service.

Pros:
Hardware arrived within 24 hours
Hardware (voyager) was small and compact
Cons:
Slow. (I checked the speed several times and once did I get above 2 Mbps. Most of the time is was between .2 and .5 Mbps).
I live in an area with the «best» coverage. My device picked up the signal well and my computers easily accessed my Wifi hotspot.
Daytime usage was faster (once clocked 5 Mbps) than 6pm-​9pm (never clocked above 2 Mbps)
One review mentioned «dial up» speeds and that is sure what it felt like many times. I eventually just defaulted to using my ATT 3g on my iPad and iPhone rather than wait for my LTE hotspot.
Do NOT think this can replace your home internet (DSL, Cable etc) because it cannot. You will be disappointed if this is what you want it for.

I tried CLEAR for 5 months. If you do email this MIGHT be for you but if you want to load web pages quickly or stream any type of media do not subscribe to CLEAR. I live inside the 610 loop and had «3 bars» of signal but service speed resembled bad, old school dial-​up.
When I called to cancel my service I was assured I would not be charged for any additional payments (as I was on auto pay). 16 days later my bank was hit with an additional monthly service charge. It took 3 days and approximately 70 minutes of my time to re-​cancel my account and request a refund. I had to cancel a second time because they claimed there was no earlier request to cancel my service. CLEAR said they would confirm the cancellation in an email… that was never received. CLEAR said someone from billing would call me back… that call never came. Hopefully my refund is processed within the stated 3 – 5 day period quoted.
I would never recommend CLEAR internet to any friends or family. Subscribe at your own risk.
P. S. If you are a current customer and not getting good signal, call and ask for a reduced rate. They were quick to tell me that indeed I was not getting very fast speeds at this time and that they would be happy to cut my rate in ½ if I stayed on with CLEAR… no thanks.

Don’t go with Clear. Their connection is okay, but the on-​the-​go USB modem is practically useless. All the places I needed to use it in while I was on-​the-​go had bad or no connection at all. And they were major cities such as Dallas, Boston, parts of NYC, Orange County.
Their customer service center is filled with people who can only read from scripts instead of helping you resolve issues.
They have hidden fees that appear on bills. I once had to call three times to get charges that had been on my bills for 5 months reversed. Then last month before I made changes to my service, I had called and spoke with three different people to ask what fees were involved, when they told me none, I thought it was timely to make the change (even though I am under contract). Then a $ 40 «restocking fee» appears on my bill. When asked what it was and why I was not told about it, all I got repeatedly was «I’m sorry you were not informed.»
It is infuriating. They will not get another dime from me.
I advise you NOT to use them. If you must, check your bills carefully each month because you’re likely to be paying for some items they made up such as a «restocking fee.»

At first, CLEAR seemed like such a step-​up from the incredibly expensive, fickle, and customer-​unfriendly service we received from AT&T’s Uverse, but eventually we came to feel that CLEAR puts forth that image to get you on a contract and then completely screw you. Our CLEAR internet works sporadically and very slowly at its best.
One (of many) technicians who came out to try to fix things actually claimed our service quit working because «there’s too much wood» in our house. And then a phone rep confessed that CLEAR had capped our account «due to high usage.» Um…
